Abstract

Der Lehnenrahmen besteht aus einer unteren Basispartie, von welcher sich beidseits je ein Seitenarm aufwärts erstreckt, und die oberen Enden der Seitenarme von einer Querleiste überbrückt sind. Figur 2) ist an der Aufnahme 51 jeweils eine bügelförmige, nicht in der Höhe verstellbare Armlehne 6 ersten Typs angebracht. In einer weiteren Ausstattung (s. Claims

Backrest (4) for a chair, with:
a) an underframe (1) sitting on the floor;

b) a mechanism (2) placed onto the underframe (1);

c) a seat (3) placed onto the mechanism (2); and

d) a backrest (4) which is fastened to the mechanism (2) and has a backrest frame (40), the inside surface of which is spanned by a back cover (8), wherein:

e) the backrest frame (40) consists of a lower base portion (42) from which one side arm (43) extends upwards on both sides, and the upper ends of the side arms (43) are bridged by a transverse strip (44);

f) the height of the transverse strip (44) in cross section is a multiple of the thickness, and therefore the transverse strip (44) is elastically deformable under loading by a force exerted by a chair user in the direction in which the user's back leans against the chair, but is flexurally rigid counter to a dynamic effect perpendicularly from above, characterised in that

g) the upper ends of the side arms (43) have connection elements (430) which interact in a latching manner with complementary elements (440) on the transverse strip (44).
Backrest (4) according to Claim 1, characterised in that
a) the back cover (8) is provided via a free space boxed in between the base portion (42), the side arms (43) and the transverse strip (44) with seams (80) strengthening the back cover (8);

b) the base portion (42) on the user side and the free space boxed in by the base portion (42), the side arms (43) and the transverse strip (44) are provided with a pad (49) which is spanned in the free space on both sides by the back cover (8); and

c) the seams (80) pass through both sides of the back cover (8).
Backrest (4) according to at least either of Claims 1 and 2, characterised in that an elastically deformable tongue (471,481) of a lumbar support (47,48) fastened to the base portion (42) projects into the free space boxed in by the base portion (42), the side arms (43) and the transverse strip (44).
Backrest (4) according to at least one of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that
a) the rigidity of the lumbar support (48) is adjustable; and

b) a counterbearing (482) which is displaceable in the vertical position serves to adjust the rigidity of the lumbar support (48).
Backrest (4) according to at least one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the seams (80) are in principle designed as closed ovals and the lowermost seam (80) has a recess (81) in order to permit the entry of the tongue (481) of the lumbar support (48).
Backrest (4) according to at least one of Claims 1 to 5, characterised in that
a) the backrest frame (40) and the transverse strip (44) are composed of plastic; and

b) the base portion (42) has, in each case laterally, a downwardly open hollow space (41) which is intended for pushing onto a connection piece (53) of a back bracket (5) which is intended for articulating the backrest (4) on the mechanism (2).
Backrest (4) according to at least one of Claims 1 to 6, characterised in that
a) the connection piece (53) has a receptacle (51) which serves for the fastening of an arm rest (6,7) and otherwise can be closed by a covering (57); and

b) the outer edges of the back cover (8) are contained on strips (45,46) which are clipped by the latching elements (450,460) thereof into latching holes (420,422).
