Definitions
- the present invention relates to a movement comprising a motor, a gear train, an exhaust and a regulating member, the cog transmitting the driving force coming from the engine to said exhaust and said exhaust cooperating with said regulating member so as to maintain the oscillations of the regulating member.
- a movement comprising a motor, a gear train, an exhaust and a regulating member, the cog transmitting the driving force coming from the engine to said exhaust and said exhaust cooperating with said regulating member so as to maintain the oscillations of the regulating member.
- which comprises a first balance and a first balance spring, said first balance being fixed on an axis, the regulating member comprising at least a second balance fixed on the axis of said first balance, as well as a timepiece comprising such a movement .
- the regulating organ of a mechanical timepiece is normally composed of a balance and a balance spring and forms the oscillating part of the movement of the timepiece.
- this central part that constitutes the regulating organ has since the invention of mechanical watches constantly been the object of improvements and developments.
- the regulating member has been used for a good number of years so as to increase the aesthetics of mechanical watches, for example by equipping watch cases with a transparent sapphire back so that the one can observe the movement of the watch, in particular the beats of the regulating organ of the watch.
- This solution has a disadvantage, namely, in order to be able to observe all the elegance of this part of the movement, it is necessary to remove the watch from the wrist of the wearer and turn it over, except in skeleton or tourbillon watches which have a opening in the dial and in which the observation of the regulating organ is normally done by this side of the watch.
- the document US 3,186,157 discloses a regulating member for an electronic or mechanical watch which comprises at least one pendulum whose ends of the axis are not fixed in bearings, the pendulum being in fact suspended by at least one spiral spring.
- the latter has a dual function, namely to support the pendulum axis and provide the restoring force during the oscillation of the pendulum.
- Certain embodiments of this regulating member have two pendulums mounted so rigid on the same axis, this axis being fixed, approximately in the middle along its length, to a spiral spring which carries the axis.
- the document FR 2 160 835 discloses a circular balance for an electric watch, the balance consisting of an upper plate made of a non-magnetic material and a magnetic material combined as well as a lower plate similarly made of a non-magnetic material and a magnetic material combined, the balance being still equipped with several permanent magnets and cooperating with corresponding fixed coils. Since the latter device is used in an electric watch and has the corresponding specific characteristics, it is not suitable for use in a mechanical timepiece.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to remedy the drawbacks of the currently known regulating members and to achieve the abovementioned advantages, in particular to allow the realization of a movement for mechanical timepieces whose running precision is improved without too much increase the complexity, the volume occupied, even the production cost, and which is suitable for being visually enhanced in the corresponding mechanical watch, this as much when the watch is worn, that is to say through the watch crystal, only when the watch is removed from the wrist and turned upside down, that is to say through a sapphire crystal case back.
- the present invention provides a mechanical movement, which is distinguished by the characteristics set out in claim 1, or even a corresponding timepiece.
- the regulating member of a movement according to the present invention comprises at least one second hairspring arranged on said at least second pendulum and the escapement is arranged at least partially between said first pendulum and said second pendulum of the regulating member .
- the movement according to the present invention also has the advantage of making it easier to start the two balance springs, since the presence of a second pendulum on the same axis mainly removes the difficulty. of vision to distinguish between the two hairsprings which arose for the adjuster of the watch in the devices of the prior art.
- the movement according to the present invention by being equipped with two pendulums on an axis, is obviously ideally suited to be highlighted visually through transparent windows located on both sides of a mechanical watch.
- a movement according to the present invention is intended to be integrated in a mechanical timepiece, in particular in a mechanical watch whose watch case makes it possible to perceive the movement of the watch and in in particular the oscillation of the balance of the regulating member, this preferably on both sides of the watch.
- a regulating member 1 of such a movement comprises a first balance 2.1 and a first balance spring 3.1, this balance 2.1 and the balance spring 3.1 being mounted near a first end 4.1 of the axis 4 of the balance.
- the regulating member comprises at least a second balance 2.2 fixed on the same axis 4 as the first balance 2.1 and rigidly with respect to the latter.
- the second balance 2.2 is mounted close to the other end 4.2 of the axis 4, as shown diagrammatically in the vertical section of the figure 2 .
- the regulating member 1 of a movement according to the present invention advantageously also comprises at least one second hairspring 3.2 which is arranged on the second pendulum 2.2.
- said first balance spring 3.1 and said second balance spring 3.2 are each arranged on the outward-facing side of said first balance 2.1 respectively of said second balance 2.2.
- Figures 3a and 3b which respectively show a top view of the regulating member of a movement according to the present invention and a top view of the lower part of the regulating member along the line IIIb-IIIb indicated in the figure 2 .
- a movement comprising the characteristics mentioned above according to the present invention thus has the following advantages.
- the running precision of a mechanical movement incorporating such a regulating member is improved by the fact that the inertia of the balance has been approximately doubled without increasing the diameter of the device.
- the precision of the pendulum's oscillation period can significantly be improved when two balance springs are used, in particular when using flat balance springs.
- the latter could be replaced by hairsprings of the Breguet type or any other type of hairsprings known to those skilled in the art, but it is preferable to use, in the preferred embodiment of the movement according to the present invention, two or even generally an even number of simple flat balance springs, this because they make it possible to obtain almost the same performance result in terms of movement accuracy of the movement as the use of Breguet type balance springs, or even a better result if the Breguet curve of the balance spring is not perfectly controlled.
- the movement according to the present invention using two pendulums and two hairsprings then makes it possible to optimize the precision of the oscillation of the pendulum without requiring too high a complexity or a volume of the device, which makes it possible to carry out the present invention at costs. relatively moderate production.
- the mechanical watch may be equipped with a watch case comprising, on its two sides, that is to say on the dial side as well as on the back side of the watch, transparent windows through which the mechanical movement and in particular the oscillation of the pendulum can be observed.
- the movement according to the present invention having two pendulums at the respective ends 4.1, 4.2 of the axis 4, the oscillation of at least one of the pendulums 2.1, 2.2 beating in synchronism can then be observed optimally through one of the windows corresponding side dial or back side of the watch case, without the pendulum that the observer has decided to admire is hidden by other parts of the mechanical movement.
- the present invention proposes, thanks to the use of two pendulums 2.1, 2.2, to separate the two hairsprings 3.1, 3.2 by a relatively large axial distance, which allows the watch adjuster to decently carry out the operations control or adjustment or even the start-up, this in an almost traditional way because the two hairsprings can thus be considered as being independent, the first hairspring 3.1 not disturbing the start-up of the second hairspring 3.2 by superposition.
- a regulating member 1 of a movement according to the present invention could also, in a constellation not illustrated in the figures, comprise more than two pendulums fixed on the same axis 4, for example a third pendulum fixed on the axis 4 of said first balance 2.1 and second balance 2.2 and arranged between the latter. Furthermore, such a regulating member 1 also generally comprises an even number of hairsprings each mounted on one of said pendulums, for example a hairspring fixed to the first second pendulum respectively and two hairsprings mounted on each side of said third pendulum, or four pendulums each with a corresponding hairspring.
- the pendulums can also have a different diameter, height, and / or shape, this within the limit of the space available or even other technical constraints and according to the desired aesthetic . He is still it should be noted that the hairspring or even the hairsprings of the regulating member of a movement according to the present invention are mounted in a conventional manner to the pendulum and to the pendulum bridges by means of a ferrule and a stud.
- the regulating member of a movement according to the present invention can cooperate in a conventional manner with the other parts of the mechanical movement of the watch, namely with the engine, the train and the escapement of the movement.
- the escapement of a watch movement according to the present invention is arranged at least partially between said first balance 2.1 and second balance 2.2 of the regulating member 1.
- a timepiece equipped with such a mechanical movement also forms the object of the present invention, in particular in the event of such a specific arrangement of the exhaust.
- the present invention provides a movement for a mechanical timepiece whose running precision is improved without greatly increasing the technical complexity or the production costs and which is ideally suited to be visually enhanced through windows on both sides of the watch case, thus contributing significantly to the aesthetics of the timepiece.

Description
The present invention relates to a movement comprising a motor, a gear train, an exhaust and a regulating member, the cog transmitting the driving force coming from the engine to said exhaust and said exhaust cooperating with said regulating member so as to maintain the oscillations of the regulating member. which comprises a first balance and a first balance spring, said first balance being fixed on an axis, the regulating member comprising at least a second balance fixed on the axis of said first balance, as well as a timepiece comprising such a movement .
The regulating organ of a mechanical timepiece is normally composed of a balance and a balance spring and forms the oscillating part of the movement of the timepiece. On the one hand, determining by its period of oscillation the precision of the mechanical timepiece and, on the other hand, being perceived as the living heart of an inanimate object due to its "beat", this central part that constitutes the regulating organ has since the invention of mechanical watches constantly been the object of improvements and developments.
For example, in order to improve the precision of mechanical watches, that is to say to improve the precision of the period of oscillation of the regulating member, it has been proposed in the past to integrate into the regulating member a second hairspring, according to several variants, notably by modifying the position of the second hairspring. In the same context also the devices produced in the past in which the regulating member is made up of two or even several spiral pendulums arranged on parallel axes. These latter devices are relatively complex and bulky, therefore quite difficult and expensive to produce.
Apart from the technical developments mentioned above as well as other efforts not mentioned in this description for reasons of volume and which mainly target the running precision of the corresponding mechanical timepiece, other technical developments have been made which aim in particular to increase the aesthetic appeal of the corresponding watches. In particular, the regulating member has been used for a good number of years so as to increase the aesthetics of mechanical watches, for example by equipping watch cases with a transparent sapphire back so that the one can observe the movement of the watch, in particular the beats of the regulating organ of the watch. This solution has a disadvantage, namely, in order to be able to observe all the elegance of this part of the movement, it is necessary to remove the watch from the wrist of the wearer and turn it over, except in skeleton or tourbillon watches which have a opening in the dial and in which the observation of the regulating organ is normally done by this side of the watch.
Considering then the devices of the prior art briefly reviewed above, it should be noted that it would be desirable to have a movement for mechanical timepieces which meets even better the current requirements as regards its precision of walking as well as its ability to be used so as to visually enhance the movement and in particular the pendulum.
The object of the present invention is therefore to remedy the drawbacks of the currently known regulating members and to achieve the abovementioned advantages, in particular to allow the realization of a movement for mechanical timepieces whose running precision is improved without too much increase the complexity, the volume occupied, even the production cost, and which is suitable for being visually enhanced in the corresponding mechanical watch, this as much when the watch is worn, that is to say through the watch crystal, only when the watch is removed from the wrist and turned upside down, that is to say through a sapphire crystal case back.
To this end, the present invention provides a mechanical movement, which is distinguished by the characteristics set out in
By these measurements, a mechanical movement is obtained for mechanical timepieces provided with a regulating member which offers a very high operating precision due to its great inertia obtained without increasing the diameter of the device and from being equipped with two spiral springs. Compared to the device of the prior art using two balance springs, the movement according to the present invention also has the advantage of making it easier to start the two balance springs, since the presence of a second pendulum on the same axis mainly removes the difficulty. of vision to distinguish between the two hairsprings which arose for the adjuster of the watch in the devices of the prior art. In addition, the movement according to the present invention, by being equipped with two pendulums on an axis, is obviously ideally suited to be highlighted visually through transparent windows located on both sides of a mechanical watch.
Other characteristics, as well as the corresponding advantages, will emerge from the dependent claims, as well as from the description setting out below the invention in more detail.

The invention will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings illustrating by way of example an embodiment of the invention.
A movement comprising the characteristics mentioned above according to the present invention thus has the following advantages.
On the one hand, the running precision of a mechanical movement incorporating such a regulating member is improved by the fact that the inertia of the balance has been approximately doubled without increasing the diameter of the device. Likewise, the precision of the pendulum's oscillation period can significantly be improved when two balance springs are used, in particular when using flat balance springs. The latter could be replaced by hairsprings of the Breguet type or any other type of hairsprings known to those skilled in the art, but it is preferable to use, in the preferred embodiment of the movement according to the present invention, two or even generally an even number of simple flat balance springs, this because they make it possible to obtain almost the same performance result in terms of movement accuracy of the movement as the use of Breguet type balance springs, or even a better result if the Breguet curve of the balance spring is not perfectly controlled. The movement according to the present invention using two pendulums and two hairsprings then makes it possible to optimize the precision of the oscillation of the pendulum without requiring too high a complexity or a volume of the device, which makes it possible to carry out the present invention at costs. relatively moderate production.
On the other hand, thanks in particular to the presence of two pendulums 2.1, 2.2 mounted on the respective ends of the
In addition, in the case of the use of two hairsprings corresponding to the two pendulums and arranged respectively on the latter, the control or adjustment operations during production or even customer service are greatly facilitated for a regulating member according to the present invention compared to the devices of the prior art. In fact, in the known devices using two hairsprings, the latter were often superimposed one above the other, which creates a difficulty of vision which makes it very difficult for the watch adjuster to distinguish between the two hairsprings and thus achieve their starting only under fairly disadvantageous conditions. On the contrary, the present invention proposes, thanks to the use of two pendulums 2.1, 2.2, to separate the two hairsprings 3.1, 3.2 by a relatively large axial distance, which allows the watch adjuster to decently carry out the operations control or adjustment or even the start-up, this in an almost traditional way because the two hairsprings can thus be considered as being independent, the first hairspring 3.1 not disturbing the start-up of the second hairspring 3.2 by superposition.
It remains to be seen that a regulating
The regulating member of a movement according to the present invention can cooperate in a conventional manner with the other parts of the mechanical movement of the watch, namely with the engine, the train and the escapement of the movement. The escapement of a watch movement according to the present invention is arranged at least partially between said first balance 2.1 and second balance 2.2 of the regulating
In view of the detailed description given above, it is clear that the present invention provides a movement for a mechanical timepiece whose running precision is improved without greatly increasing the technical complexity or the production costs and which is ideally suited to be visually enhanced through windows on both sides of the watch case, thus contributing significantly to the aesthetics of the timepiece.
