Abstract
Ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zum Verformen eines gießwarmen Stranges (1) aus Metall, insbesondere aus Stahl oder Stahlwerkstoffen, auf dem Prinzip der soft-reduction durch Anstellen von Strangführungsrollen (3) vermeidet den Nachteil, dass durch eine erhöhte Anstellung vor der Durcherstarrung (2b) sich auch die Position der Durcherstarrung (2b) verschiebt und sieht vor, dass jeweils ein Bezugspunkt (5) innerhalb des flüssigen Sumpfes (2), in dem ein Ein- oder Ausströmen von Schmelze in Stranglaufrichtung (16) nicht mehr vollständig möglich ist, einen kritischen Schalenabstand (8) bildet, der als Bezugsgröße für das Ansteuern von für die Verformung einzusetzenden Strangführungsrollen (3) gewählt wird.
