- The apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein the first wrapping device (2) comprises a welding apparatus and wherein in the course of applying the first film curtain (15) to the side walls (6) of the loading unit (1) or to the stabilising device, two halves or parts of the vertical film curtain (15) can be welded to one another with the welding apparatus to form at least one weld seam.
- The apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein a film supply for the formation of the second film curtain (21) comprises at least two film rolls (8) having horizontally disposed or substantially horizontally disposed film roll axes (9), wherein the film webs (10) supplied from the film rolls (8) are guided over deflecting elements (14) so that the film web (10) withdrawn from the one film roll (8) is fed vertically upwards for wrapping the loading unit (1) and that the film web (10) withdrawn from the other film roll (9) is fed vertically downwards.
- The apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein the second wrapping device (3) comprises a pre-stretch apparatus (17) by which means the film webs (10) supplied from the film rolls (8) are pre-stretched in their feed direction or in their longitudinal direction.
- The apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 9, wherein a second stabilising device is provided on which the second film curtain (21) can be placed before applying to the loading unit (1) with the proviso that the first film curtain (21) abutting against the second stabilising device surrounds the loading unit (1) and wherein after removal of the second stabilising device, the second film curtain (21) can be applied to the loading unit (1).
- The apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 10, wherein the second wrapping device (3) comprises a welding apparatus and wherein in the course of applying the second film curtain (21) to the loading unit (1), two halves or parts of the second film curtain (21) can be welded to one another with the welding apparatus to form at least one horizontal or substantially horizontal weld seam.
- The apparatus according to any one of claims 1 to 11, wherein the second wrapping device (3) has a separating apparatus (27), by which means at least the film part to be applied to the underside (24) of the loading unit (1) can be separated in the course of the application of the second film curtain (21) to the underside (24) of the loading unit (1) so that the film strips (28, 29) formed by the separation can be brought between pallet runners (30) or pallet feet of a pallet (4) of the loading unit (1) to abut against the underside of the pallet.
- A method for packaging a loading unit (1) with film, wherein in a first process step respectively one vertically oriented film web (10) is supplied from both sides of the loading unit (1) and wherein the two film webs (10) are joined to form a first vertical film curtain (15),
wherein the first vertical film curtain (15) is applied to the side walls (6) of the loading unit (1) and wherein the two parts or halves of the first film curtain (15) enclosing the loading unit (1) are joined or welded to one another at a side wall (6), in particular at the rear-side side wall (6),
wherein in a second process step, respectively one vertically oriented film web (10) is supplied from above the loading unit (1) and from below the loading unit (1) and wherein the two film webs (10) are joined to form a second vertical film curtain (21),
wherein the second vertical film curtain (21) is applied to the front side wall (6), to the upper side (23) and to the lower side (24) and to the rear-side side wall (6) of the loading unit (1), and wherein the two parts or halves of the second film curtain (21) enclosing the loading unit (1) are joined or welded to one another on one side of the loading unit (1), in particular on the rear-side side wall (6),
and wherein either the first or the second process step is carried out first. - The method according to claim 13, wherein the first process step is carried out before the second process step.
- The method according to any one of claims 13 or 14, wherein in the first and/or second process step the film webs (10) are supplied from film rolls (8) having a horizontal film roll axis (9) or substantially horizontal film roll axis (9) and deflected into a vertical orientation of the film webs (10).
- The method according to any one of claims 13 to 15, wherein in the first and/or second process step the film webs (10) are pre-stretched in the longitudinal direction or feed direction of the film webs (10) before they abut against the loading unit (1).
- The method according to any one of claims 13 to 16, wherein in the second process step film applied to the upper side (23) of the loading unit (1) covers or overlaps at least a part of the corners (31) and edges, preferably all the corners (31) and edges on the upper side (23) of the loading unit (1).
