Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Verpacken von portionierten Produkten in einem Einwickler, indem wenigstens zwei Bahnen eines Packstoffes im wesentlichen parallel, an ihren einander zugewandten Längsrändern überlappend ausgerichtet und in Richtung jeweils eines nach oben offenen Faltschachtes transportiert, die Bahnen quer zu ihren überlappenden Längsrändern unter Bildung von im wesentlichen ebenen Zuschnitten der Einwickler getrennt und die Zuschnitte mittels eines in den Faltschacht eingreifenden Faltstempels unter Bildung eines nach oben offenen Einwicklers in den Faltschacht eingefaltet werden, wonach den nach oben offenen Einwicklern die Produktportion aufgegeben wird und anschließend die nach oben überstehenden Abschnitte der Einwickler nach innen umgeschlagen werden. Auf diese Weise wird ein nur nach oben offener Einwickler erzeugt, welcher anschließend z.B. in einer Zelle abgelegt werden kann, in welcher der Einwickler sodann mit der Produktportion befüllt wird.
