Definitions
- the invention relates to a backrest part for a passenger seat, in particular an office chair.
- a chair back center piece is known, the upper part is more resistant to bending than its lower part.
- This centerpiece has a central area that accompanies the spine and is bendable around horizontal axes. And he has laterally from this projecting ribs.
- the ribs are connected to each other by bellows connections, or separated by slots. At the middle part they are arranged over webs. The ribs are therefore movable against each other and follow the bends of the central area. At the same time they are bent forward and support the back from the side. In doing so, they bend around vertical axes to the pressure of the back and adapt to the back course by turning in the webs.
- This chair back center piece needs to be upholstered.
- the pad must be able to absorb the movements of the individual ribs against each other. However, these movements are of an order of magnitude unsuitable for upholstery, even if the rib pitch is narrow, so that 11 ribs per side are provided. These narrow ribs are also sensitive to individual loads.
- the object of the invention to provide a backrest that allows a similarly dynamic support of the back and can accommodate higher single loads in the individual ribs and still follow the movement of the middle part.
- this document uses “longitudinal” as an orientation parallel to the spine direction, and “transverse” perpendicular to it, parallel to a line from side to side of the seat back shell.
- the shell accordingly has, in a known manner, a central part which supports a spinal column along a spine in the longitudinal direction and is stretched between upper and lower attachment points, and ribs which protrude laterally from the central part.
- the ribs are separated by lateral incisions from each other, bent forward and thus formed against each other movable.
- elongated openings are formed in this shell in the central part, which extend in the transverse direction and terminate at both ends between two longitudinally adjacent side incisions.
- This has the advantage that the ribs are each connected via two webs to the central part, and the middle part between these two webs interrupted and therefore is very flexible. This allows relatively large dimensions of the ribs in the longitudinal direction without obstructing their mobility due to a change in curvature of the central part.
- the middle part is divided by the elongated openings in web areas. Longitudinally adjacent web areas are not directly connected to each other, but are connected via the webs with the ribs, which link the adjacent land areas elastically with each other. This has the consequence that bends in the longitudinal direction, which follow the back course, in their change in each case the ribs must include in this change.
- the bending of the material therefore extends over two meandering strips in the transition between middle part and ribs.
- This meandering shape of the force transferring strips has the advantage that the deformation of the shell occurs along a longer line than if the strip were stretched. The deformation is therefore less per length.
- there is a distortion of the shell in the webs so that in the deformation equal to the ribs are included as the web portions of the central part with.
- Two longitudinally adjacent torsions are in opposite directions. A change in length due to bending changes of the shell is taken in the region of these openings.
- the rigidity and bendability of the shell can not be just about the thickness of the shell Material of the shell, but also about the dimensions of the incisions and openings are designed.
- the shell is arranged in juxtaposed thirds approximately the same width.
- the middle third are formed by the middle part and the outer third by the ribs. This threefold has the advantage that in a transversely slightly arched middle region, the flexibility is given in the longitudinal direction, and in a more curved in the transverse direction edge region, the flexibility of the individual ribs and transverse direction is given.
- the ends of the incisions and the ends of the openings terminate in two areas which extend parallel to the longitudinal direction.
- the end of the incision and the end of the opening in the transverse direction expediently have a distance of between 2 cm and -6 cm.
- Two centimeters apart means that there are two longitudinal strips of 2 cm each between the middle section and the ribs.
- Minus six inches distance means that the incisions and openings overlap by six inches.
- Advantageous embodiments are when the ends have a distance in the transverse direction of 1 to -3 cm, more preferably, a distance of ⁇ 0.5 cm. Distances of the ends between 0 and a small overlap are particularly preferred. In the illustrated preferred embodiment, the ends of openings and notches are practically on a straight line.
- the shell is curved in a known manner in the transverse direction concave to cover the back. In a central region, this curvature is less formed than in the side regions with the ribs. Over the length of the openings, the shell has a front concave curvature of conveniently at most 1 cm. A stronger curvature of the shell in the middle part is more resistant to its bendability around transverse axes. A lesser curvature is already perceived as no longer following the dorsal curvature. This provision is less intended for the determination of the curvature, but more to determine the length of the openings.
- these numbers can also be increased or decreased by one, without deviating from the basic constructive idea. It is essential that the ribs clearly flat elements are, and that they go over with two flat webs in two adjacent land areas of the middle part. This flatness of the areas is no longer given at high numbers of ribs and openings. For smaller numbers, however, the desired flexibility of the back shell is no longer given. The individual ribs then become independent in their movement under load.
- attachment points for attaching the shell are formed on a support member on the central part. Particularly useful is their training two land areas of the middle part, namely the second top and the bottom land area. An attachment in the openings is also conceivable.
- the shell in position to a support member, while the other allow mobility of the shell relative to the support member.
- the attachment in upper attachment points define the shell in its position to a support member.
- the attachment in lower attachment points of the shell allow mobility with respect to the position of the support member. This mobility in lower attachment points has the advantage that the Boss buckle is more influenced, as if this mobility would not exist in the lower attachment points.
- the determination of the relative position in the upper attachment points is also expedient because in the thoracic spine area, the smaller bending differences are necessary and the back shell extends beyond the attachment points. The radius of the curvature in the longitudinal direction of the back shell can thus be increased by the upper attachment points under load.
- a padding can be provided. This is conveniently in horizontal stripes. These strips extend from rib to rib in the transverse direction.
- FIGS. 1 to 3 illustrated back shell 11 have a left side 13 with ribs 15 and cuts 17 between the ribs, a central part 19 through openings 21 between web portions 23, and a right side 25 with ribs 15 and cuts 17.
- the openings 21 are each at the level of Ribs 15 arranged.
- the cuts 17 are each arranged at the level of the web portions 23.
- This results in a meandering area line 29 (shown on one side as a gray serpentine line), which meanders around the ends of the openings and notches.
- This surface line 29 is formed symmetrically to a longitudinally extending axis of symmetry of the back shell on both sides.
- FIG. 1 is a version shown in which the ends of the recesses 17 and the ends of the elongated openings 21 in the middle part 19 have a positive distance.
- This neutral zone can not undergo longitudinal change in length when the Back shell is bent under load.
- the effective for the transmission of web portion 23 on rib 15 and rib 15 on web portion 23 effective cross section of the back shell, that is, the cross section of the webs 27 between the ribs 15 and the web portions 23 is wider than the width of the neutral zone forming strip.
- an elastic connection of ribs 15 and middle part 19 is provided, which couples both the central part 19 with the ribs 15, as well as the middle part a bendability about axes in the transverse direction and the ribs granted a bendability about axes in the longitudinal direction.
- This elastic connection can be influenced by the fact that the length of the webs is selected. With longer webs, the shell becomes more mobile, with shorter stiffer ones. Longer webs arise when the ends of the openings and the ends of the sipes come closer to each other or even overlap.
- FIG. 2 a variant of a back shell 11 is shown, in which the incisions 17 and the openings 21 in the transverse direction of the shell 11 overlap each other.
- the width of the webs 27 can also be influenced by the pitch (number of cuts and land areas, or ribs and openings), the width of the cuts and the width of the openings.
- the serpentine line 29, along which the forces are transmitted longitudinally, is longer than in FIG. 1 , This results in a smaller distortion of the cross section of the webs 27 per length.
- the openings 21 and cuts 17 do not have to, as in Figures 1 and 2 shown, end in straight lines. They can also be different in length. They may also have more angular shapes. To illustrate these facts, the FIG. 3 , The openings 21 have three areas: a middle with a longitudinally larger dimension, and two side areas with a longitudinally smaller dimension.
- the incisions 17 have two areas, namely an outer with a longitudinally smaller dimension and an inner with a longitudinal direction of a larger dimension. The dimensioning of these regions can influence the strength of the serpentine line region which transmits forces in the longitudinal direction. In a boss area, the cutouts are made smaller than in the chest area. The cuts and openings partially overlap, but not everywhere.
- the first and bottom openings do not overlap with the first and bottom notches.
- the second opening overlaps with the first cuts, but with the second still more. Most of the 4th opening overlaps with the adjacent cuts.
- the 5 and 6th openings overlap less again. In this way, the stiffness can be influenced in different areas.
- the serpentine line 29, along which the forces are transmitted longitudinally, has areas in which it will swing out far and thus form a softer shell, and areas where it is more elongate, and therefore form a harder shell 11.
- the incisions are narrower in the outer area than in the inner area. Only in the inner region, the width of the cuts 17 affects the width of the webs 27. By this shaping of the incisions, therefore, the mobility of the shell can be influenced without thereby limiting the width of the ribs.
- the ribs 15 are split so that they have two ends.
- attachment points 31,33 located. These lie on land areas 21, on the second top and the bottom land area.
- FIG. 4 the attachment of the shell 11 is shown on a support member 35.
- the shell 11 is mounted at the upper attachment points 31 angle rigid or rotatable. In the lower attachment points 33, however, it is articulated with a lever 37 on the carrier part 35.
- This lever 37 allows an extension of the boss and House Schlsschwölbung the shell 11.
- the lever 37 is conveniently spring-loaded to tension the shell 11 in front.
- FIGS. 5 to 9 a preferred embodiment is shown.
- This again has the middle part 19, connect to the side ribs 15.
- the incisions 17 between the ribs 15 are conically tapered inwardly.
- the openings 21 in the middle part 19 extend to the ends of the incisions 27 zoom. There is neither a clear overlap nor a clear distance. Visually, the ends act on a straight line.
- the rear shell 11 is formed with Boss vaulting and House Kunststoffswölbung and thus forms a lumbar support.
- the curvature of the lumbar support is load-dependent, since the material of the shell is elastically flexible.
- the serpentine area (not shown here), over which the forces on the upper and lower attachment points 31, 33 are removed, is thereby verwindbar. This allows the lumbar support, the actual buckling of a to follow a lean back. By pressure on the Bossvölbung this is flattened and an area arched over it. By pressing on this happens the reverse.
- the shell via rubber buffer (not shown) is attached to the support member 35.
- the back shell 11 can be wound in total, for example, if a shoulder presses on one side against the uppermost ribs.
- the ribs are how out FIGS. 6 and 8th visible, different degrees bent forward. They grasp the back in the boss area more than in the shoulder area.
- FIGS. 8 and 9 is the back shell once without padding ( FIG. 8 ) and once with padding 39 ( Fig. 9 ).
- the padding 39 consists of strips which are laid across the shell. They extend from the left to the right edge of the shell and into the ends of the ribs. They cover the openings. These openings are then visible only on the back of the shell.
- the cushion strips are individually attached to the shell.
- the two bottom upholstery strips are combined to give a waistband and a belt no possibility for hanging in the second lowermost cushion strip.
- the cushion strips are firmly connected at their ends with the ribs. In the middle area, they are connected to the web areas in such a way that movement of the padding strips in the longitudinal direction is prevented, but there is little mobility between the web areas and the padding strip.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a backrest part for a passenger seat, in particular an office chair.
From WO 02/071900 a chair back center piece is known, the upper part is more resistant to bending than its lower part. This centerpiece has a central area that accompanies the spine and is bendable around horizontal axes. And he has laterally from this projecting ribs. The ribs are connected to each other by bellows connections, or separated by slots. At the middle part they are arranged over webs. The ribs are therefore movable against each other and follow the bends of the central area. At the same time they are bent forward and support the back from the side. In doing so, they bend around vertical axes to the pressure of the back and adapt to the back course by turning in the webs.
This chair back center piece needs to be upholstered. The pad must be able to absorb the movements of the individual ribs against each other. However, these movements are of an order of magnitude unsuitable for upholstery, even if the rib pitch is narrow, so that 11 ribs per side are provided. These narrow ribs are also sensitive to individual loads.
Based on this prior art, the object of the invention to provide a backrest that allows a similarly dynamic support of the back and can accommodate higher single loads in the individual ribs and still follow the movement of the middle part.
For a clear language, this document uses "longitudinal" as an orientation parallel to the spine direction, and "transverse" perpendicular to it, parallel to a line from side to side of the seat back shell.
This object is achieved with an elastically deformable chair back shell according to the preamble of
To solve the problem elongated openings are formed in this shell in the central part, which extend in the transverse direction and terminate at both ends between two longitudinally adjacent side incisions. This has the advantage that the ribs are each connected via two webs to the central part, and the middle part between these two webs interrupted and therefore is very flexible. This allows relatively large dimensions of the ribs in the longitudinal direction without obstructing their mobility due to a change in curvature of the central part. The middle part is divided by the elongated openings in web areas. Longitudinally adjacent web areas are not directly connected to each other, but are connected via the webs with the ribs, which link the adjacent land areas elastically with each other. This has the consequence that bends in the longitudinal direction, which follow the back course, in their change in each case the ribs must include in this change.
The bending of the material therefore extends over two meandering strips in the transition between middle part and ribs. This meandering shape of the force transferring strips has the advantage that the deformation of the shell occurs along a longer line than if the strip were stretched. The deformation is therefore less per length. In addition, there is a distortion of the shell in the webs, so that in the deformation equal to the ribs are included as the web portions of the central part with. Two longitudinally adjacent torsions are in opposite directions. A change in length due to bending changes of the shell is taken in the region of these openings.
It has been shown that with such a design of the shell an elastic, and with respect to rigidity well dimensionable plastic mold was found. The rigidity and bendability of the shell can not be just about the thickness of the shell Material of the shell, but also about the dimensions of the incisions and openings are designed.
Advantageously, the shell is arranged in juxtaposed thirds approximately the same width. Of these, the middle third are formed by the middle part and the outer third by the ribs. This threefold has the advantage that in a transversely slightly arched middle region, the flexibility is given in the longitudinal direction, and in a more curved in the transverse direction edge region, the flexibility of the individual ribs and transverse direction is given.
The ends of the incisions and the ends of the openings terminate in two areas which extend parallel to the longitudinal direction. The end of the incision and the end of the opening in the transverse direction expediently have a distance of between 2 cm and -6 cm. Two centimeters apart means that there are two longitudinal strips of 2 cm each between the middle section and the ribs. Minus six inches distance means that the incisions and openings overlap by six inches. Advantageous embodiments are when the ends have a distance in the transverse direction of 1 to -3 cm, more preferably, a distance of ± 0.5 cm. Distances of the ends between 0 and a small overlap are particularly preferred. In the illustrated preferred embodiment, the ends of openings and notches are practically on a straight line.
The shell is curved in a known manner in the transverse direction concave to cover the back.
Preference is given to five openings between six web portions of the middle part, as well as five ribs and four cuts on each side. However, these numbers can also be increased or decreased by one, without deviating from the basic constructive idea.
Conveniently, attachment points for attaching the shell are formed on a support member on the central part. Particularly useful is their training two land areas of the middle part, namely the second top and the bottom land area. An attachment in the openings is also conceivable.
Advantageously put one of the fasteners, the shell in position to a support member, while the other allow mobility of the shell relative to the support member. It is preferred if the attachment in upper attachment points define the shell in its position to a support member. It is particularly advantageous if the attachment in lower attachment points of the shell allow mobility with respect to the position of the support member. This mobility in lower attachment points has the advantage that the Boss buckle is more influenced, as if this mobility would not exist in the lower attachment points. The determination of the relative position in the upper attachment points is also expedient because in the thoracic spine area, the smaller bending differences are necessary and the back shell extends beyond the attachment points. The radius of the curvature in the longitudinal direction of the back shell can thus be increased by the upper attachment points under load.
To increase comfort, a padding can be provided. This is conveniently in horizontal stripes. These strips extend from rib to rib in the transverse direction.

This elastic connection can be influenced by the fact that the length of the webs is selected. With longer webs, the shell becomes more mobile, with shorter stiffer ones. Longer webs arise when the ends of the openings and the ends of the sipes come closer to each other or even overlap.

In

The
In the upper attachment points 31, the shell via rubber buffer (not shown) is attached to the
In the lower attachment points of such a distortion narrow limits, but this lower attachment allows that the attachment points 33 move in the longitudinal direction and the
