Das Treibelement ist lediglich als eine sich quer zur Längsachse eines nur als Führungskäfig fungierenden Käfig erstreckende scheibenförmige vorzugsweise Metallplatte ausgebildet, die randseitig in einer ringnutenförmigen Ausnehmung der Innenwand des Führungskäfigs gelagert ist, wobei die scheibenförmige Metallplatte ein zentrales Durchgangsloch besitzt, dessen Durchmesser möglichst groß, aber kleiner als der maximale Durchmesser des Innenkegels der kegelstumpfförmigen Ausnehmung des Leitwerkes ist. Die Einbindung einer derart aufgebauten Pusherplatte nutzt den Gasdruck für die Beschleunigung des Geschosses zusätzlich zur Platte und treibt das Geschoss durch das Waffenrohr. Der Führungskäfig hat dadurch nur noch die Funktion der Führung des Unterkalibergeschosses und kann leichter gestaltet werden, als herkömmliche Treibkäfige.
