Claims (12)

wherein- the flow path (20) comprises the deflector device (7) at its downstream arranged end portion (20b), wherein the deflector device (7) has a straight-line profile in its cross-section and an outflow edge (7a) extending into the basin (3) at a distance from the floor (3a) of the basin (3), wherein the deflector device (7) is inclined towards the top in direction of its outflow edge (7a),- the water supply means (12, 13, 14) feed the flow path (20) constantly, in order to generate a standing wave in the basin (3),- the basin (3) is confined by a wall (3b), which substantially extends below the deflector device (7), and- the installation comprises an overflow (5) being arranged downstream, which is disposed behind a wall (3c) of the basin (3) being arranged downstream, lateral overflows (4), being arranged behind side walls (3d, 3e) of the basin (3), and lateral channels (12), each being equipped with a pumping device (13) for transporting the water in upstream direction to the flow path and allowing the water to flow in a closed circuit. - Installation according to claim 1, wherein the deflector device (7) is equipped with means to control its inclination.
- Installation according to claim 1 or claim 2, furthermore comprising means for controlling the water level (10) in the basin (3) up to slightly above the outflow edge (7a) of the deflector device (7).
- Installation according to claim 3, wherein the means for controlling the water level (10) in the basin (3) comprise an overflow (4, 5) with variable height.
- Installation according to claim 4, wherein the outflow edge (7a) of the deflector device (7) is arranged in a distance (d) between 50 centimeters and 1 meter above the floor (3a) of the basin.
- Installation according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the flow path (20) comprises lateral deflector devices (8) being arranged upstream on each side face towards the deflector device (7), which can be moved from a completely retracted position into a position protruding into the flow path (20).

- Method according to claim 10, wherein the level of the water in the basin (3) is adjusted according to the height of the outflow edge (7a), which is about 10% higher than the water height on the flow path (20) above the deflector device.
- Method according to one of the claims 10 or 11, wherein the deflector device (7) is inclined by between 2.5 degrees and 17.5 degrees relative to the horizontal.
