Description
Bezeichnungdescription
The invention relates to a display with an electro-optic ¬ rule display. Electro-optical displays, for example liquid-crystal displays, organic light-emitting diode displays (OLED) or electron tubes are known from the prior art. The liquid crystal displays, especially if they are designed as TFT displays, and the electron tubes have a nearly rectangular shape. Special forms are not or only very expensive to produce. If such electro-optical displays are to be combined with other displays, for example analogue pointer instruments, as is known, for example, from instrument clusters for motor vehicles, the electro-optical displays can only be designed to be relatively small and there remains an unusable space.
This object is achieved in that a screen is arranged in front of the display, which partially covers the display and so the screen has a display overlapping area and the display has a covered area and that the covered area of the display the
Weiterhin können beispielsweise in der Blende Zeichen wieIlluminated aperture and that parts of the aperture are designed to translucent. As a result, displays with electro-optical displays can be realized in which the visual perception in a viewer does not appear rectangular. Furthermore, for example, in the aperture characters such as
Warnings or scales of a display can be reproduced, which are illuminated by the display, even in different ¬ Licher brightness.
If it is the display is a color display, ¬ Kings nen the characters on the screen with different colors are lighted and displayed in different colors at ben. Furthermore, depending on the information to be displayed, the colors of the lighting can also be changed.
The display can be designed particularly simply if the covered area of the display illuminates the covered part of the panel. Here, the panel can be mounted directly on the display, so that results in a flat simple structure. If a light ¬ conductor is arranged between the display and the aperture, the light of the display can also be passed into a region of the aperture, which does not cover the display. As a result, additional bulbs are ge ¬ saves. To a ver on an additional illumination of the switch ¬ When the aperture is configured as a switch that can be dispensed and secondly by a modified example in the color and / or brightness of the lighting refreshes ¬ elle switching state of the switch are illustrated.
When the shutter moving parts which ¬ example, also additional information can be displayed. This is the case in particular when the movable part is designed as a pointer element. In this case, the pointer can be backlit di ¬ rectly by each parts of the display illuminate the pointer, which are covered by the pointer. In the case of a color display, the color and / or brightness of the illumination can also be changed depending on the position of the pointer or for the presentation of additional information. Particularly simple and with a good appearance of this pointer element is to design as a ring pointer. Here, the ring pointer can be illuminated via the display, for example, by a direct light coupling or by a rotating light-conducting ring, is coupled into the light, for example, via the display.
A disc pointer is also possible in which a pointer is arranged on an otherwise clear disc and this disc is arranged in front of the display, in particular rotatable about its center. If the display is designed as an LCD, it has a low power consumption. In particular, as a TFT-LCD, it can also be used as a color display. If the display is designed as an electron tube, it can provide a particularly sharp representation of the display.

In Fig. 1 can be seen a display 1, a diaphragm 2, with light apertures 2a, a light guide in the form of a light box 3, a lighting device 4 and symbolically represented an eye E of a viewer and light beams S. The display 1 is for example a liquid crystal display in the form of a TFT display, with a colored representation is possible. This display is illuminated by a lighting device 4. Parts of the light rays S, which penetrate the display 1, do not reach the eye E of the observer directly, but are guided via the light box 3 to the light passages 2 a of the diaphragm 2. Thus, information in the form of, for example, scale lines or numerical values can also be represented by the light passages 2 a. This information can be displayed in different colors, if the display is appropriate Emits light rays. If the display 1 is configured instead of an LCD as a display with organic light emitting diodes (OLED), the lighting device 4 is superfluous.
In Fig. 2 ist die Blende 2 derart ausgestaltet, dass dieIn Fig. 2, the aperture 2 is designed such that the
Aperture 2 not only has areas 2b which cover the display. The exemplary embodiment in FIG. 2 differs from the exemplary embodiment in FIG. 1 in that the diaphragm 2 has an area 2c behind which no display 1 is seen by a viewer with the eye E. Furthermore, the light guide is designed in the form of a light guide 5, for example made of glass or a light-conducting plastic such as polyacrylic. The light guide 5 also guides the light beams in the region 2c of the diaphragm 2, behind which there is no display. It is thus possible to illuminate areas of the diaphragm which are located laterally away from the display. Thus, the shape of the display can be chosen freely, although the display 1 is designed rectangular.
In the plan view of the display according to FIG. 3, the display 1 and the panel 2 can be seen. The panel 2 has a region 2b, which is arranged above the display and an area 2c, behind which there is no display. Furthermore, the diaphragm 2 has light passages in the form of graduated lines 2a, a tank symbol 2d and a general warning symbol 2e. The aforementioned light transmissions 2 a, 2 d and 2 e are illuminated by means not shown light guide from the display 1 from ¬ . A pointer associated with the scale lines 2a can be displayed, for example, on the display 1.
The display in FIG. 4 shows a display 1, a diaphragm 2, a ring pointer 10 and a partially concealed ring 11. Scale 2f and scale line 2g can be seen on the diaphragm 2. Advantageously, not as Darge ¬ is selected a positive display (black scale ¬ values and scale lines on a white background) but as a negative display (bright or white scale values and scales strokes on a dark or black background), so that the graduation marks and scale values can be designed by light apertures in the aperture. These light passages may be o- play designed as openings in the stop at the ¬ but be realized by light-transmissive regions. The positive representation in Figure 4 has been chosen for simplicity of illustration only. The ring 11 can beispielswei ¬ se as shown shine itself or be made of translucent material, but the viewer is out opaque or light reduced designed and einkop ¬ pelt in his existing light in the ring pointer 10, so that the ring pointer 10 is illuminated , Light can be coupled into the ring 11 through the display 1 or a separate source of light ¬ . It is also possible, in addition to the ring 11 to arrange an additional light guide and directly couple light in the ring pointer 10.
In the partially illustrated mechanical structure in Fig. 5 one can see the display 1 and the ring 11. Further, provides laser ger 12 of the ring 13 and a drive gear 14 with Darge ¬. The gear 14 engages teeth of a ring gear IIa, which is formed integrally with the ring 11. Instead of a gear other frictional or non-positive gear combinations such as V-belt or timing belt can be used. Light is coupled from the display 1 in the ring 11 and from there into the ring pointer 10 is ¬ coupled and thus illuminates the ring pointer 10. The ring 11 itself is covered to the viewer with an opaque layer or coated.
Instead of a ring hand, a multi-cranked pointer 15 can be used, the drive 16 is arranged behind the display 1, then behind the display is led beyond the limits of the display to the outside and then bent twice bent back to its axis of rotation and a Pointer syringe 15a may represent, which can move over the display 1 and the aperture 2, without that a ¬ drive shaft through the display 1 must be performed (Fig. 6).
