Definitions
- the invention relates to a chair with a seat and a seat mechanism, wherein the seat mechanism allows a lateral pivotal movement of the seat.
- the US 2004/195882 A1 discloses a chair that allows for lateral pivotal movement with the pivot axis in the center of the seat parallel to the thighs of a user.
- the seat is divided in the direction of the axis of rotation into several sections, wherein the left and right sides of each section always perform an opposite pivotal movement about the axis of rotation.
- Another chair will be in the JP 10 151033 A shown, which is characterized by a right and a left half of the seat, which are independently supported resiliently.
- the invention has the object to develop a new movement concept, on the one hand a lateral Pivoting movement of the seat allowed, but still gives the user in the straight position enough security and stability.
- the chair according to the invention comprises a seat and a seat mechanism, wherein the seat and the seat mechanism are designed such that one side of the seat is movable independently of the other side of the seat during the lateral pivotal movement of the seat, and the two sides of the seat Seat are pivotally mounted about a pivot or rotation axis, which is parallel to the knee axis and in the knee axis of a user.
- the seat according to the invention should be designed so that the right and left side of the seat are independently movable.
- Such a chair is able to follow the user in his natural three-dimensional movements while still providing sufficient security in the straight posture.
- the seat has a seat surface and a backrest, wherein the backrest and the seat surface are movable relative to one another.
- the seat mechanism has two lateral, independently responding support arms to which the seat is attached.
- the two support arms are preferably pivotally mounted in the region of the knee axis of a user.
- the connection of the seat with the support arms can be done for example by means of ball joints, wherein a first and a second ball joint in the lower region of the backrest of the seat and a third and fourth ball joint in the front region of the seat can be arranged.
- the seat is connected only in the front region of its seat with the seat mechanism.
- two independently sprung bending or pivoting zones can be provided between the backrest and the seat surface.
- the seat is thereby pivotally mounted on a base support and the backrest pivotally supported the seat, wherein between the base support and seat a first spring system and between the seat and backrest a second spring system are provided.
- means for adjusting the spring behavior of both spring systems can be provided in order to adjust the pivoting movement of the seat relative to the base support or the pivoting movement of the backrest with respect to the seat to different requirements, in particular different heavy users.
- the seat mechanism is designed so that it causes a mechanical synchronization of Weg lake- andcommunlehene Trent.
- the seat and backrest are integrally formed, yet the right and left sides of the seat are movable relative to each other.
- the in Fig. 1a to Fig. 1g shown chair according to a first embodiment consists essentially of a seat 1, a seat mechanism 2 and a base support 3.
- the seat in turn has a seat 10 and a backrest 11 which are movable relative to each other.
- the relative mobility can be formed by a suitable pivoting or bending zone, wherein seat 10 and backrest 11 can be formed both in one piece and by separate parts.
- the base support usually has an arbitrarily ausgestaltetes pedestal and is used to hold the seat and the seat mechanism.
- the seat mechanism 2 has in the illustrated embodiment, two lateral, independently reacting support arms 20, 21, on which the seat 1 is attached.
- the two support arms 20, 21 are pivotally mounted about a pivot or rotation axis 22, wherein the pivot or rotation axis 22 is supported on the base support 3 such that the pivot or rotation axis 22 is arranged approximately in the region of the knee axis of a user.
- the seat 1 is mounted in the illustrated embodiment by means of ball joints on the support arms 20, 21.
- the ball joints 23, 24 and 25, 26 are each arranged symmetrically to the median plane 4 of the chair.
- the distance of the first and second ball joint 23, 24 to the hip joint axis of a user is preferably less than 0.2 m. Furthermore, the distance a of the two ball joints between 0.1 m and 0.5 m.
- the displaceability of the third and fourth ball joint 25, 26 is provided, which results when the backrest pivots to the rear or front, as that from which Fig. 1f and Fig. 1g becomes apparent.
- the pivotal movement of the backrest not only causes a displacement of the seat forward, but also causes a pivoting of the backrest 11 to the first and second ball joint 23, 24.
- the backrest 11 and the seat 10 are also coupled to each other such that pivoting the Backrest causes a rearward lifting of the seat relative to the support arms. This lifting of the seat takes place mainly in the rear part of the seat, which is caused by the simultaneous lowering of the support arms a total of movement of the rear part of the seat 10 down.
- the pivotal movement of the backrest 11 to the rear is thus realized substantially by the pivotal movement of the support arms 10, 21 about the pivot axis or rotation 22.
- the displaceability of the ball joints 25, 26 also allows for leaning back an increase in the angle between the seat 10 and backrest 11th
- the ball joints 25 and 26 are arranged at a distance A from the pivot or rotation axis 22.
- the seat 10 is slidably supported with respect to the ball joints 25, 26 from the rear or in, with a rearward displacement without resistance possible while forward displacement is limited by a boundary 40.
- the boundary 40 may be formed by a fixed or a pressure-resilient stop.
- FIG. 1i shows that an overall inclination or lurching of the seat is possible without resistance, without causing a rotation of the backrest to the ball joints 23, 24 must come.
- the angle ⁇ 1 between the seat 10 and the backrest 11 can thus be kept constant during this rocking movement.
- a rotation of the backrest 11 is always connected to a displacement of the seat with respect to the ball joints 25 and 26. How out FIG. 1h is clearly visible, the ball joints 25 and 26 in contact with the boundary 40, so that a sole rotation of the backrest about the joints 23, 24 from this position is not possible. It is therefore necessary that the seat in turn is pressed by the pressure of the boundary 40 against the ball joints 25, 26 in a downward slope.
- this second embodiment of the invention is capable of responding to lateral weight shifts by one-sided seat tilt without the user losing seat back contact.
- the two support arms 20, 21 are via suitable spring elements in the normal position, ie in the upright position, according to Fig. 1f pressed.
- the spring elements are individually adjustable by the user in the usual form, thereby changing the pivoting behavior.
- the two support arms can both together, ie synchronously pivot without pivot or rotation axis 22 and independently about the pivot or rotation axis 22.
- This independent pivoting allows lateral pivoting of the seat, as in Fig. 1e relative to the straight position according to Fig. 1d is shown.
- the independently responding support arms 20, 21 and the seat itself is designed such that one side, ie the left or right side of the seat in the lateral pivoting movement is independent of the other side of the seat movable. In other words, not the entire seat is tilted sideways, but it comes in particular to an independent movement of the right and left half of the seat, in particular the seat.
- the pivot or rotation axis 22 is rigid and also the articulation on the seat allows only about a horizontal displacement of the seat, but no lowering of the seat in its front area. With a lateral pivoting of the seat, as in Fig. 1e is shown, it thus comes to a twisting of the seat, in particular the seat. Of course, can be superimposed in this movement additionally also pivoting and or twisting of the backrest.
- the seat 2 is connected here only in the front region of its seat 10 with the seat mechanism, the seat 10 pivotally mounted on the base support 3 and the backrest are pivotally supported on the seat 10.
- the seat mechanism is formed here essentially by two spring systems, wherein between the base support 3 and seat 10, a first spring system 27 and between seat 10 and backrest 11, a second spring system 28 are provided. Further refinements of this seat mechanism are from the DE-A-10 2006 023 982 taken from the same applicant.
- the chair in both pivoting ranges can be tailored to a variety of requirements. By eliminating the mechanical coupling of the two joints less space is required for the chair mechanism and opens up new possibilities in chair design.
- both spring systems 27, 28 are provided to the pivotal movement of the seat 10 with respect to the base support 3 and the pivoting movement of the backrest 11 with respect to the seat 10 to different requirements, especially different heavy users to adapt can.
- means are also conceivable which adjust both spring systems 27, 28 together, as is the case in particular in US Pat DE-A-10 2006 023 982 is described in more detail. In this way it can be ensured that even for differently heavy users substantially the same synchronous ratio between seat tilt and backrest tilt is made possible.
- the pivotal movement of the seat 10 about the base support 3 is about a first hinge axis 29 and the pivotal movement of the backrest 11 about the seat 10 is made possible by a second hinge axis 30. Due to the lack of mechanical coupling of seat and backrest, it is possible to make the distance between the two hinge axes 29, 30 adjustable and thereby achieve a seat depth adjustment.
- the Seat depth S 1 ie the distance between the two hinge axis 29, 30
- the seat depth has been reduced to S 2 .
- the lateral pivoting mobility of the seat is also realized in this embodiment.
- two lateral support arms 39a, 39b are provided, which are independent of each other via two independent spring elements 27a, 27b pivotally.
- the spring system 28 is also equipped with two lateral, independently reacting spring elements 28a, 28b. In this way, in turn, a side of the seat in the lateral pivotal movement of the seat can move independently of the other side of the seat, as that from the Fig. 2d and Fig. 2e becomes apparent.
- the seat 10 and preferably also the backrest 11 are formed so that it can come in the lateral pivoting movement to a twisting of the seat and backrest.
- a fourth embodiment of a chair is characterized by a seat mechanism, which causes a mechanical synchronization of Weg lake- andmajlehene Trent.
- the seat 10 is in turn supported pivotally in its front region via a hinge axis 31 on the base support 3.
- the backrest 11 is articulated laterally on the seat surface 10 via two lateral coupling arms 34a, 34b via joints 35a, 35b.
- An extension of the coupling arms 34a, 34b is also coupled by means of joints 36a, 36b on the base support 3.
- This synchronous mechanism is tuned so that a suitable synchronous ratio, for example in the range of 1 to 1.5 to 1 to 3.5, results.
- the synchronous ratio results from the ratio of the angle by which the seat surface 10 is inclined with respect to the base support 3 and the angle at which the seat back 11 inclines with respect to its upright position.
- the synchronizing mechanism can also be designed in any other way as long as it causes a mechanical synchronization of seat and backrest slope.
- two lateral support arms 32, 33 are provided, which are mounted independently of each other pivotably about the hinge axis 31 and are connected in a suitable manner with the seat.
- the independent pivoting mobility of these two support arms in turn allows one side of the seat is movable in a lateral pivotal movement of the seat independently of the other side of the seat. Since in this case the front end of the seat does not execute a lateral inclination, as in the other exemplary embodiments, the seat 10 is warped and, via the coupling arms 34a, 34b, also a corresponding distortion of the backrest 11.
- Fig. 4a to Fig. 4g shown fifth embodiment differs from the third embodiment essentially only in that there provided the second spring system 28 is omitted.
- Seat 10 and backrest 11 are integrally formed, wherein a transition region between the seat 10 and the backrest 11 allows a relative mobility of the seat and backrest.
- the lateral pivoting mobility of the seat is again achieved by the fact that the seat 10 is articulated and cushioned in its front region by two lateral, independently reacting spring elements 37a, 37b.
- the connection between the seat surface 10 and the base support 3 can, as in the previous embodiments, take place by means of lateral support arms 38a, 38b, which are movable independently of each other by the two spring elements 37a, 37b.
- the integrally formed seat shell, consisting of seat 10 and backrest 11, is suitably made of plastic and can be for the realization of the lateral pivoting of the seat (see Fig. 4e ) use accordingly.
- the seat 10 is pivotable at its front end about a hinge axis, wherein in the region of this hinge axis 2 separate spring elements are provided which allow independent pivoting of the left and right side of the seat about the front hinge axis.
- the seat is preferably attached to two lateral support arms that react independently of each other about the front hinge axis.

Based on this prior art, the invention has the object to develop a new movement concept, on the one hand a lateral Pivoting movement of the seat allowed, but still gives the user in the straight position enough security and stability.
According to the invention, this object is solved by the features of
In particular, the chair according to the invention comprises a seat and a seat mechanism, wherein the seat and the seat mechanism are designed such that one side of the seat is movable independently of the other side of the seat during the lateral pivotal movement of the seat, and the two sides of the seat Seat are pivotally mounted about a pivot or rotation axis, which is parallel to the knee axis and in the knee axis of a user.
In contrast to the previously pursued concepts, in which tilt the entire seat and in particular the entire seat as a rigid element to the right or left, the seat according to the invention should be designed so that the right and left side of the seat are independently movable. Such a chair is able to follow the user in his natural three-dimensional movements while still providing sufficient security in the straight posture.
Weitere Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung sind Gegenstand der Unteransprüche.Further embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
According to a preferred embodiment, the seat has a seat surface and a backrest, wherein the backrest and the seat surface are movable relative to one another.
According to a first embodiment, the seat mechanism has two lateral, independently responding support arms to which the seat is attached. The two support arms are preferably pivotally mounted in the region of the knee axis of a user. The connection of the seat with the support arms can be done for example by means of ball joints, wherein a first and a second ball joint in the lower region of the backrest of the seat and a third and fourth ball joint in the front region of the seat can be arranged.
According to a second embodiment of the invention, the seat is connected only in the front region of its seat with the seat mechanism. In this case, in particular for the relative movement of the backrest and the seat surface, two independently sprung bending or pivoting zones can be provided between the backrest and the seat surface. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the seat is thereby pivotally mounted on a base support and the backrest pivotally supported the seat, wherein between the base support and seat a first spring system and between the seat and backrest a second spring system are provided.
As a further embodiment, means for adjusting the spring behavior of both spring systems can be provided in order to adjust the pivoting movement of the seat relative to the base support or the pivoting movement of the backrest with respect to the seat to different requirements, in particular different heavy users.
According to a third and fourth embodiment of the invention, the seat mechanism is designed so that it causes a mechanical synchronization of Sitzflächen- and Rückenlehneneigung.

The base support usually has an arbitrarily ausgestaltetes pedestal and is used to hold the seat and the seat mechanism.
The seat mechanism 2 has in the illustrated embodiment, two lateral, independently reacting
The pivotal movement of the
According to a second embodiment, the ball joints 25 and 26 are arranged at a distance A from the pivot or

From this constellation results in a mechanical synchronization of seat tilt and backrest tilt (β1-β2 / α2-α1), which is effective only in one direction. For the user, there is the advantage that it springs in by the free rockers when settling on the chair comfortable, without losing the backrest contact, and that it is still a mechanical synchronization with harmonious and defined course of seat tilt and backrest tilt available when leaning back.
In the context of the independent left and right seat side feature, this second embodiment of the invention is capable of responding to lateral weight shifts by one-sided seat tilt without the user losing seat back contact.

By the pivotal movement of the
In addition, the

This synchronous mechanism is tuned so that a suitable synchronous ratio, for example in the range of 1 to 1.5 to 1 to 3.5, results. The synchronous ratio results from the ratio of the angle by which the

In all embodiments, the
