Definitions
- a device of the type mentioned is from the DE 195 17 699 known.
- the known device has a covering film for blanket covering and airtight sealing of the wound, so that below the covering film in the area of the wound, a wound space is created in which a Foam insert and a drawn into this drainage tube are used. With the help of the foam insert the wound secretions should be sucked more evenly over the entire wound surface.
- a collecting container with vacuum pump for generating the negative pressure is connected to the drainage tube. If the collection container is filled with wound secretion, the entire device is disposed of.
- the purpose of the disposable device is to continuously deliver the wound secretions through the drainage tube to the collection container.
- the US 55 49 584 shows a device for vacuum therapy, which consists of a wound cover, arranged on a suction tube diaphragm pump and a membrane pump downstream of the bag-like collector. Below the wound cover, a layer of material or a loose bed of liquid-absorbent fibers is arranged, which rests on a perforated layer, which in turn is underlaid by a further, adhesive layer. The fibers are still covered by a liquid permeable, multi-window, upper layer, the windows are each backed by a liquid-permeable material portion as well.
- the suction tube is connected to a connection piece arranged above the wound cover and has no direct contact with the absorption material located within the wound space. The device thus constructed appears to be complicated and expensive to manufacture.
- DE 29 53 373 C2 Also shown is a device for wound treatment using negative pressure, consisting of a wound covering element, an underlying foam insert and at least one tube communicating with the pores of the foam insert.
- a sterile, rectangular but rigid cassette is shown with a housed therein surgical dressing.
- the cassette is attached with its lower edge to the skin of the patient.
- the cassette is open top and bottom to enclose the surgical field on the patient.
- One out AT E33 446 B known bag-type wound treatment and wound drainage device has a lower peripheral edge for adhering to the skin of the patient, a catheter holder, two arranged on a top wall treatment openings with caps and lying on the bottom wall of the bag, the access to the wound enabling opening on.
- the script merely describes the construction of the bag.
- the object of the invention is to design a less expensive device for vacuum therapy of wounds, whose structure is simplified.
- the wound covering element can be fastened to the patient's body via a flexible connection plate, so-called base plate, on which one or more openings adapted to the wound surface (s) are cut out prior to sticking to the skin.
- base plate so-called base plate
- At least one superabsorbent enriched, replaceable absorption body and a drainage tube is arranged, which drainage tube is located on the absorption body.
- the drainage tube can also lie between two absorption bodies forming a sandwich arrangement which have the same or different suction force.
- the sandwich arrangement one with superabsorbents enriched absorbent body and an additional, not provided with superabsorbent absorbent body, for example, a flat, porous foam body are used.
- different possibilities are provided, namely a sandwich arrangement in which the foam body lies between the connection plate and the absorbent body enriched with superabsorbents or between the wound covering element and the absorbent body enriched with superabsorbents.
- the coated absorbent body and / or the additional, foam-like absorbent body and / or the anti-adhesive film element may be provided with substances containing silver, copper or zinc, for example in nanocrystalline form.
- the surface of the enriched with superabsorbent particles textile section of the absorption body is substantially smaller than that of the shell, so that the absorbent body in the vicinity of its entire filling capacity in its cross section can approach a circular shape unhindered.
- the exhaustion of the maximum or almost maximum filling capacity of the absorbent body contributes to the cost reduction of the wound treatment.
- the wound covering element may be transparent to at least a portion of its surface to allow the condition of the wound healing process to be observed.
- the drainage device may be provided with a liquid-permeable, mucous membrane-friendly protective element, which on a the Wound cover element opposite side of the absorbent body is arranged and the area is approximately equal to the coated absorbent body.
- the protective element can also be made of soft, open-cell foam or a very loose nonwoven fabric.
- the protective element can be a loose bed of fleece or foam pieces located below the absorption body, which can be removed from the wound, for example with tweezers, after the absorption process has ended.
- a voluminous structure not only fulfills the mucosal protective function, but also the function of an absorber.
- the open-cell foam or the nonwoven fabric may have pores several times larger than those of the shell so that the larger particles of wound exudate can be taken up.
- the negative pressure in the wound space below the wound covering element can be generated manually or mechanically or electrically with the device adhered to the body of the patient.
- the simplest manual vacuum generation can be done using a so-called shear gripper vacuum pump or a known hand-compressible rubber ball ("ball pump").
- ball pump hand-compressible rubber ball
- For electrical vacuum generation are different, commercially available vacuum pumps that z. B. with hose and pressure regulator are available.
- the negative pressure can be generated by connecting the drainage device to an existing, stationary clinical vacuum installation, optionally via a pressure regulator.
- the device may be polygonal, oval or circular in plan view of its flat side. She can also be in Top view of their flat side similar to the known supply bags, ie be "bottle-shaped".
- the shell of the absorption body consists of a liquid-permeable, mucous membrane-compatible natural or plastic, to which the wound secretions do not or hardly adhere. This allows the transport of liquid wound secretions into the absorbent material.
- the wound secretions pass through the sheath and are absorbed by the superabsorbent-enriched absorbent material.
- the sheath of the absorbent body may be provided with a traction means, so that the spent, swollen absorbent body can be easily pulled out of the wound area.
- Both the sheath and the absorbent material lying within the sheath may be provided with an odor-inhibiting and / or neutralizing or masking additive, for example with an activated carbon filter.
- an odor-inhibiting and / or neutralizing or masking additive for example with an activated carbon filter.
- an apparatus for wound treatment is created using negative pressure, in which the wound secretions are sucked through the fleece of the absorbent body which passes through the superabsorber and remain within the envelope surrounding the absorbent body, without returning from the sheath into the covered wound space.
- the cross-sectional area of the absorbent body is greatly enlarged, several times and approximates a circular shape, and wherein maintaining the negative pressure using a connectable to the device vacuum pump, ie gas evacuation substantially no wound secretions are entrained.
- the exchangeable absorption body serves as a temporary storage for the wound secretions emerging from the wound.
- the drainage device according to the invention can also be used with the compression therapy, for example in the treatment of open legs.
- a drainage device 100 for wound treatment using negative pressure consisting of a rectangular, foil-like, transparent wound covering element 3, one of hydrocolloid-like connection plate 10, an intermediate absorption body 2 and a drainage tube 4.
- connection plate 10 On the connection plate 10 is an opening 11 (see. Fig. 2a ) cut the wound size accordingly, so that after sticking to the skin of the patient, a gas-tight wound space 5 in the wound area (see. Fig. 2b ) arises.
- Reference numeral 25 denotes a peripheral edge of the wound covering element 3, which is adhesively bonded to the connection plate 10.
- the sealed wound space 5 is therefore in contact with the wound surface, the wound covering element 3 and the inner edge of the opening 11 limited to the connection plate.
- This wound space has a variable volume, since the wound covering element 3 is not tense.

The object of the invention is to design a less expensive device for vacuum therapy of wounds, whose structure is simplified.
- the absorbent body is at least one layer of a textile section interspersed with superabsorbent particles, the cover being liquid-permeable and having pores whose size substantially does not exceed that of the superabsorbent particles,
- the absorption body to be introduced into the wound space has an initial volume which increases in the course of the absorption process and assumes a final volume, so that the absorbed wound secretions - due to the pore size of the envelope - within the absorption body and thus below the wound covering element until removal of the absorption body from the Wound space remain.
The wound covering element can be fastened to the patient's body via a flexible connection plate, so-called base plate, on which one or more openings adapted to the wound surface (s) are cut out prior to sticking to the skin. However, it is not excluded to dispense with the base plate when a peripheral adhesive surface is introduced at the edge of the wound covering element, provided that the adhesive substance is health harmless and provided at the wound covering element a corresponding connection point for insertion of the drainage tube. However, preference is given to a commercially available supply bag with a gastight treatment window and drain, whose side wall opposite the wound covering element is glued to the connecting plate at the factory.
It is important that within the supply bag at least one superabsorbent enriched, replaceable absorption body and a drainage tube is arranged, which drainage tube is located on the absorption body.
However, the drainage tube can also lie between two absorption bodies forming a sandwich arrangement which have the same or different suction force. In the sandwich arrangement, one with superabsorbents enriched absorbent body and an additional, not provided with superabsorbent absorbent body, for example, a flat, porous foam body are used. In this case, different possibilities are provided, namely a sandwich arrangement in which the foam body lies between the connection plate and the absorbent body enriched with superabsorbents or between the wound covering element and the absorbent body enriched with superabsorbents.
Through the selection of absorption bodies and their suction power, an optimal wound healing process can be "programmed".
In order to kill the germs, the coated absorbent body and / or the additional, foam-like absorbent body and / or the anti-adhesive film element may be provided with substances containing silver, copper or zinc, for example in nanocrystalline form.
It is also important that the surface of the enriched with superabsorbent particles textile section of the absorption body is substantially smaller than that of the shell, so that the absorbent body in the vicinity of its entire filling capacity in its cross section can approach a circular shape unhindered. The exhaustion of the maximum or almost maximum filling capacity of the absorbent body contributes to the cost reduction of the wound treatment.
The wound covering element may be transparent to at least a portion of its surface to allow the condition of the wound healing process to be observed.
The drainage device may be provided with a liquid-permeable, mucous membrane-friendly protective element, which on a the Wound cover element opposite side of the absorbent body is arranged and the area is approximately equal to the coated absorbent body. The protective element can also be made of soft, open-cell foam or a very loose nonwoven fabric. Finally, the protective element can be a loose bed of fleece or foam pieces located below the absorption body, which can be removed from the wound, for example with tweezers, after the absorption process has ended. In addition, a voluminous structure not only fulfills the mucosal protective function, but also the function of an absorber. The open-cell foam or the nonwoven fabric may have pores several times larger than those of the shell so that the larger particles of wound exudate can be taken up.
The negative pressure in the wound space below the wound covering element can be generated manually or mechanically or electrically with the device adhered to the body of the patient. For example, the simplest manual vacuum generation can be done using a so-called shear gripper vacuum pump or a known hand-compressible rubber ball ("ball pump"). For electrical vacuum generation are different, commercially available vacuum pumps that z. B. with hose and pressure regulator are available.
In a stationary, z. B. postoperative wound treatment, the negative pressure can be generated by connecting the drainage device to an existing, stationary clinical vacuum installation, optionally via a pressure regulator.
The device may be polygonal, oval or circular in plan view of its flat side. She can also be in Top view of their flat side similar to the known supply bags, ie be "bottle-shaped".
The shell of the absorption body consists of a liquid-permeable, mucous membrane-compatible natural or plastic, to which the wound secretions do not or hardly adhere. This allows the transport of liquid wound secretions into the absorbent material. The wound secretions pass through the sheath and are absorbed by the superabsorbent-enriched absorbent material.
It is advantageous to provide on the shell of the absorption body a peripheral projection of casing material so that a painful contact of the relatively hard seam with the wound surface can be limited or even avoided. This is understood as a supernatant, the casing material between a peripheral seam and the outermost circumference of the shell.
The sheath of the absorbent body may be provided with a traction means, so that the spent, swollen absorbent body can be easily pulled out of the wound area.
Both the sheath and the absorbent material lying within the sheath may be provided with an odor-inhibiting and / or neutralizing or masking additive, for example with an activated carbon filter.
Of great advantage is that gas evacuation does not entrain any wound secretion particles. These remain within the envelope of the absorbent body until the entire device is removed from the body of the patient and disposed of or the swollen absorbent body is replaced.
Overall, an apparatus for wound treatment is created using negative pressure, in which the wound secretions are sucked through the fleece of the absorbent body which passes through the superabsorber and remain within the envelope surrounding the absorbent body, without returning from the sheath into the covered wound space.
wherein with increasing absorption, the cross-sectional area of the absorbent body is greatly enlarged, several times and approximates a circular shape, and wherein maintaining the negative pressure using a connectable to the device vacuum pump, ie gas evacuation substantially no wound secretions are entrained. In addition, it is possible to dispense with an additional collecting container.
If an excess of wound secretion is to be removed, it is advisable to connect the drainage tube via a check valve to a collecting container, which in turn is connected upstream of a vacuum pump with pressure gauge. In this case, the exchangeable absorption body serves as a temporary storage for the wound secretions emerging from the wound.
The drainage device according to the invention can also be used with the compression therapy, for example in the treatment of open legs.
