Abstract

The running tread of a rail has supplementary material layers parallel to the rail's longitudinal direction. These layers are produced by applying sheeting for fusion welding in a submerged arc welding process. The rail is heated up to an increased temperature before applying the sheeting for fusion welding. An independent claim is also included for a tram network rail with narrow curve radii.

Description

Technisches GebietTechnical area

The invention relates to a method for producing a rail with reduced rolling noise, in particular for use in conjunction with tram rails and in particular in conjunction with curved rails, which have narrow radii, wherein the running surface of the rail provided with at least one, parallel to the rail longitudinal direction, additional material layer which is produced by applying a welding path in the submerged arc welding process (UP).

Stand der TechnikState of the art

Such a method is from the German patent application DE 25 54 704 A1 known. In this method rails for rail vehicles are subdivided into sub-surfaces which run along the rail and are arranged at a distance from one another. The partial surfaces are applied to the original rail, inter alia, by submerged arc welding or by welding under protective gas with consumable welding wire. In the case of a preferred embodiment, the material used for the partial surfaces is a metallic filler material, which may also comprise a non-ferrous metal, with a mono- or multiphase bronze having at least 50% copper content and one or more other alloying elements.

The use of the copper content had the special purpose of achieving the greatest possible lubrication effect, in order to avoid undesired driving noise, as they occur in particular in very tight bends. Especially in dense residential development, in particular trams tend due to the resulting from the tight curves radii to produce a high-pitched squeak. The cause of this squeaking noise has not been fully explored, with certainly a reason for this is that the outer curves in the rigid axles equipped with rigid axles trolley cars have to cover a greater distance than the inside wheels. This causes either the outer or both wheels slip while cornering on the rail or pulled jerkily through the curve.

Furthermore, the so-called stick-slip effect can play a role. In essence, the noise will probably be the same effect as when a wet finger strokes the edge of a half-filled wine glass.

Already in the 60s and 70s, various efforts were made to reduce the squeaking during cornering, as accumulated in this time already the residents' complaints. By the above patent application, a method should be created, which arouses legitimate hope for this purpose.

In practice, however, the method has not proved to be suitable, since on the one hand by the embrittlement of the rail head during welding and the concomitant quenching effect of Wärmeinflusszonen next to the immediate weld, the rails were brittle and a lot of rail damage occurred. Further, although improvement was observed by the applied welds, this was not significant.

For this reason, this form of hardfacing was again refrained and it was initially provided a track reduction in order to suppress better guidance of the wheel and a possible resonance effect. This track narrowing was made by surfacing on the rail sides, although, despite some success concerns about the tracking led to this procedure has now been abandoned.

Since there is currently no effective method for reducing the high-frequency vibration noise, an oil-based sliding coating has been used to reduce the ever-increasing local resident complaints applied to the rails. This method not only has problems with road safety, but also has a short duration of action, so that a high manpower is required to keep the rails slidable.

Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention Technische AufgabeTechnical task

Technische LösungThe object of the invention is therefore to provide a simple and easy to carry out method for producing a rail with reduced rolling noise. Technical solution

In particular, after the introduction of so-called low-floor vehicles, it has been shown that the rolling noise in louder turns was louder than before. Although the experts had hoped that a reduction effect can be created by independent suspension and the resulting difference in speed between the inside and outside wheels, unfortunately, has proved exactly the opposite. The squeaking noises when passing through narrow radii have increased. In addition, the strain on residents in metropolitan traffic has increased due to further driving noises from car or truck traffic, which is increasingly trying to localize and eliminate avoidable noise sources.

According to the process of surfacing is now taken up again, although it has already been considered by the experts to be unfit. It has been found that the use of a special welding wire for applying one or more welding tracks in the rail longitudinal direction in the context of a Unterpulververschweißverfahrens the problems of the above-mentioned prior art are eliminated.

According to the invention, a high-alloyed basic welding wire is now used as the welding wire; in particular, a flux-cored wire is used as the welding wire Welding wire used because it has been found that a welding process with solid wires does not lead to the desired result. Such welding wires are commonly used in building construction, so that the expert has not come up to the present invention on the idea to use such a combination of materials for the track construction.

The welding wire according to the invention is provided as a high-alloyed welding wire with a carbon content of between 0.0 and 1.5%, in particular between 0 and 0.5%. The manganese content is between 0.0 and 5%, in particular between 0.5 and 3%. Furthermore, a silicon content between 0.0 and 1.5, in particular between 0.0 and 1% and a chromium content between 8 and 23%, in particular between 12.0 and 18.0% are provided. Finally, a nickel content between 1.0 and 10%, in particular between 2 and 6% is added alloyed. With a filler wire thus assembled as a welding wire, a thin welding path can now be applied parallel to the rail longitudinal direction. Preferably, however, two or even more welding tracks are provided next to each other, parallel to the rail longitudinal direction.

Vorteilhafte WirkungenAdvantageous effects

As the welding powder, an agglomerated welding powder of the fluoride-based type group is preferably used. This welding powder preferably has the following material components:
  • a SiO 2 + TiO 2 content between 15.0% and 30.0%, in particular between 17.0% and 25.0% and preferably of 20.0%,
  • a CaO + MgO content between 25.0% and 40.0%, in particular between 27.0% and 35.0% and preferably of 30.0%,
  • an Al 2 O 3 + MnO content between 20.0% and 30.0%, in particular between 23.0% and 27.0% and preferably of 25.0% and
  • a CaF 2 proportion between 15.0% and 30.0%, in particular between 18.0% and 22.0% and preferably of 20.0%

In principle, a good result can be achieved with this welding powder and the welding wire according to the invention, however, sustainable noise reduction becomes possible only when, surprisingly, a certain combination of welding parameters is maintained. In particular, a welding current should be used which has a current of between 300 and 500 amps, in particular between 370 and 430 amps. The voltage of the welding current should be between 20 and 30 volts, in particular between 23 and 26 volts. Wire feed rates between 90 and 120 cm / min , in particular between 100 and 115 cm / min are also used according to the invention.

Preferably, the adhesive property of the welding track on the upper side of the rail, in particular in the curved area, is improved by cutting a groove into the rail before welding. Such a groove can be introduced for example via a special tool that can be moved on the rail and each having a cutting disc for each groove, which is parallel to the direction of travel against the rail engageable.

The inventive method can be used both in new rails in the manufacturing plant as well as already laid rails on the road. In the latter case, the rails are dried before machining, then preferably provided with grooves via the above-mentioned special tool, so that finally can be done with an above-also movable special tool Unterpulververschweißung with the above parameters. To reduce quenching and embrittlement of the material next to the weld line, the rail can be heated to an elevated temperature prior to applying the weld line. A controlled controlled cooling by reheating the already welded rail is also possible.

Die erfindungsgemäßeAfter the welding path has cooled down, a grinding process can create a flat surface of the partial surfaces formed by the welding path. As an alternative to a flat surface, a corrugated surface can also be produced by the grinding, in particular by corrugation parallel to the rail longitudinal direction. The inventive

Further features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the dependent claims.
