Although known noise barriers are more or less well suited to reduce the sound emission of traffic routes, especially railways, roads, highways and highways, but also have virtually no protective effect against the spread of emissions by moving on traffic areas (power) vehicles caused.
Existing noise barriers are therefore not or practically unable to withhold the emissions of motor vehicles moving on traffic routes. In particular, these are emissions in the form of soot particles from diesel vehicles, in the form of exhaust gases, in the form of whirled-up dust and the like.

Thanks to the arrangement of several filters on or in a noise protection wall emissions of motor vehicles, which move on the equipped with the noise barriers according to the invention traffic routes, especially dust, soot particles, exhaust gases and the like, effectively retained.
Surprisingly, it has been found that by the wind of vehicles, especially larger vehicles, such as trucks and buses, but also of passenger cars, for supplying the emissions to the at least one filter favorable pressure / suction conditions arise, so that by the wind Moving air is brought with the emissions to the filter and pressed by the filter, wherein, emissions contained in the air, in particular solid particles, are retained in the filter.
In principle, all filter materials are suitable. Inorganic materials may be used as the filter material as well as organic materials, both natural and synthetic filter materials being considered. For example, plastic foam or plastic chips can be used as filter materials. Cellulosic filter materials are also considered as filter material according to the invention. For example, hemp shives have proven suitable as filter material. Hemp shives are the part of the hemp plants remaining in the production of hemp fibers, which consist essentially of cellulose.

In order to increase the effectiveness of the filter arrangements of the noise protection walls according to the invention, guide devices can be provided, which direct the air flows generated by moving vehicles into the filters, and thus the effectiveness of the noise protection walls according to the invention with filters for filtering out emissions (dust particles, soot particles and the like). to amplify from the air. Such baffles may be baffles made of metal, plastic or wood, guide channels or, for example, a special shape of the traffic area facing wall of the filter.
In the context of the invention it is provided that the filter from baskets exist, which are inside - ie on their side facing the traffic - with a wall with openings, for example, with a grid, are provided so that laden with emissions air can effectively enter the filter. The outside, that is, the side facing away from the traffic side of the baskets, is permeable to air through openings.
A rain protection may be assigned to the filter (s) provided according to the invention so that the filter materials used according to the invention do not become wet.
The side facing away from the traffic surface of the filter according to the invention or when multiple filters are provided, the filter provided according to the invention, may be designed to be permeable to air, between the filters and the noise barrier preferably a space can be provided through the exhaust air completely or partially exhausts can.
In embodiments of the invention, in which at the back of the filter, a free space is provided and the filters are designed to be permeable to air on its back, so on the side facing away from the roadway, valve-like arrangements can be provided which the passage of air through the filter allow only in the direction away from the traffic area and prevent the passage of air through the filter to the traffic route. This has the advantage that air flows exclusively through the filter, when it is acted upon by the pressure of a passing vehicle moving air. When the wake of the passing vehicle arises, no air is sucked back through the filter and possibly contained in this emissions, such as dust and the like, are not blown out of the filter again. In a simple embodiment, this valve arrangement can be a flexible film or an arrangement with a plurality of lamellar film webs, which is loosely associated with the rear side of the filter. At pressure drop through the filter, the higher pressure on the side facing the road, the film moves away from the back of the filter and air can flow through. With reverse pressure gradient, ie at higher pressure behind the filter - on the side facing away from the lane - the film adheres to the back of the filter and air can not or practically no longer flow to the traffic area through the filter.
The provided at the upper ends of noise barriers, curved filter may also be equipped on its back with air outlet filter baskets. Parallel (concentric) to these filters an example also curved wall is provided, which serves as a rain cover and which is held by spacer pins at a distance from the filter. By passing through the filter or the air then flows below the serving as a rain cover, in particular to the side facing away from the traffic surface side of the noise barrier, and then from the device.
The filters according to the invention can also be formed in multiple layers, wherein in the individual layers different filter materials, especially when using hemp shives as a filter cloth, these aligned in the individual layers with different (main) orientations may be provided.
Within the scope of the invention, it is also possible to provide a plurality of filters in which filter materials with different properties are contained. For example, it is possible to provide filters with fine filter material, in particular in a lower region of the soundproof wall, whereby the soundproofing is improved, and above to provide filters with coarser filter material, in particular for filtering out dust and other Emissions is suitable.
Furthermore, the filter cloth can be treated or selected so that the filter cloth can be regenerated, for example, by washing out dust and other emissions with which it is loaded.

In summary, an embodiment of the invention can be represented as follows:
