Abstract
Description
- The object of the present invention is a folding display stand, of among the display stands embodied with corrugated cardboard which admits being folded when it is desired to remove it, whereby its original size is clearly reduced, facilitating its storage and transport.
- The present invention is characterised by the configuration and design of the corrugated cardboard sheets that are used in the construction thereof, obtaining a display stand easy to fold and unfold, by carrying out a simple movement, and wherein the pieces which intervene are designed with the objective of obtaining the best possible use.
- The means which the display stand has to maintain the display stand in a balanced position, are elastic means, which in turn on recovering a certain position allow the folding of the assembly.
- Thus, the present invention lies within the ambit of the display stands implemented in corrugated cardboard or similar materials, which permit the folding thereof, being maintained in the unfolded position on the basis of a set of elastic means.
- Several systems of folding or unfolding display stands are known, like that described in the patent FR 2760880, wherein it is observed that the display stand disclosed is formed by some central parts A, by some side parts B and C, all of which conforming a single sheet. The display stand is divided into several sectors and has a section in plan arched on one of the sides, achieved by the employment of some elastic means on each of the sectors.
- To be able to maintain it in an upright position, an additional piece or foot is used interlocked with the rest of the assembly, endowing the same with a certain stability.
- This folding display stand, although working correctly offers a number of drawbacks, like for example the large quantity of cardboard material used in its constitution, the need to employ the same number of elastic means as there are folding sectors in the assembly, as well as requiring the employment of an additional piece not joined to the rest of the assembly, with the ensuing risk of loss.
- Therefore, the object of the present invention is to develop a folding display stand which overcomes the aforesaid drawbacks, that is, wherein the quantity of material necessary in its construction is the minimum possible, the elastic means employed in maintaining a certain position is only one, and wherein once the assembly has been folded up there is no independent piece remaining but rather they are all joined to each other.
- The folding display stand object of the invention is formed starting from two pieces embodied in corrugated cardboard or any other similar material.
- One of the pieces acts as a rear supporting means, while the other is the main piece which forms the display stand. Both are obtained from a stamped and cut sheet.
- The main piece is formed by a central part from which emerge individual sides, foldable toward the interior part because it has some half-cut lines.
- The central part is divided in turn into several folding sectors, that is they are sectors which fold one on top of the other, for which reason the folding line has on one of its faces a half-cut, whilst on the other face it is a folding line, assuring the union of the sectors and the folding thereof.
- The disposition of folding and half-cut lines between sectors is alternate from one sector to another, so that the folding is allowed in one sense or in the other.
- The sides on their lower part are widened since on their lower edge the assembly is stood once unfolded. They also have some perforations wherein are housed some elastic means or rubber bands which secured on the piece providing rear support by tending to fold the sides slightly inwards produce the bending of the sides until abutting upon the rear support, leaving the sides of the main piece perpendicular to the central part.
- To proceed to fold the assembly, it is sufficient to open the sides toward the exterior against the tension in the elastic means, making the side supports coplanar with the central part. The elastic means are not capable by themselves of producing the turning of the sides and recovering the position of stability.
- Faced with this situation, the folding sectors fold one on top of the other leaving the whole assembly reduced to the surface area occupied by the bottom folding sector which is that from which the support means project.
- To carry out the folding it has not been necessary to remove any piece whatsoever, and simply by lowering the sides leaving them coplanar with the central part the folding operation is completed, the rear support piece remaining attached to the rest of the assembly, avoiding the need to mount it or store it independently.
- To complete the description that will be made hereafter and with the object of assisting in a better understanding of its characteristics, the following descriptive specification is accompanied with a set of drawings in the figures of which, by way of illustration and not restrictively, the most significant details of the invention are represented.
- Figure 1 shows a representation of the parts which form the display stand object of the invention, on one side the rear support piece, whilst on the other the main piece of the display stand.
- Figure 2 shows a representation in perspective of the display stand deployed, viewed from the front, wherein the different folding sectors can be observed.
- Figure 3 shows a representation in perspective of the display stand deployed viewed from the rear part, wherein the elements are observed which intervene in maintaining the display stand in the vertical position.
- In the light of the figures, a preferred mode of embodiment is described below for the proposed invention.
- In figure 1, it is observed that the display stand comprises a main part (1) and a rear support (12).
- The main part (1), represented on its visible face, is observed to be formed by a central part divided into several folding sectors (3). On both sides of the central part some sides (2) emerge which fold down on the central part by means of a half-cut line (4).
- The folding sectors (3) have, as one observes in the figure, some half-cut lines (5) or some cleft lines (6) between them, having on the other face the complementary means, that is if on one face two folding sectors (3) are separated by a half-cut line (5) on the other face said adjacent folding sectors have a cleft line (6), which configuration assures the folding and union between the two parts.
- The arrangement of cleft lines (6) and half-cut lines (5) on the sectors is alternate as can be observed in the figure. This arrangement allows the folding of each of the sectors on that preceding in a direction different to the previous one thereby avoiding folding always toward the same side.
- In turn the sides (2) of the main part are divided into several sectors separated from each other by cleft lines (7) which are present on both faces.
- The sides in their lower part have an extension (8) which serves as reinforcement through being folded and stuck on the bottom side part (10), a line (9) being defined which will be that on which the assembly stands.
- On the bottom part (10) of the sides (2) some slots (11) are provided which serve to house the elastic means of securing.
- In figure 3 the folded assembly is observed from the rear with more detail. Specifically it is shown how the rear support piece (12) is that which allows the sides (2) to be folded until being perpendicular to the central part.
- The folding of the sides (2) is achieved through the action of some elastic means, in this case some rubber bands (14) housed both on the bottom part (10) of the sides and on the rear support (12) itself.
- The rear support (12) has some slots (13) finished in circular form where the elastic means are housed, moreover, on the bottom part (10) of the sides there are some stampings which define individual slotted housings (11) wherein are lodged the other ends of the elastic means.
- The folding of the sides (2) on the central part is limited by the length of the rear support (12), for which reason it has a length such that in the folding, the sides are left perpendicular to the central part.
- It is pointed out that the separation between the consecutive folding sectors (3) is now in the first place a cleft line (6), followed by a half-cut line (5), and concluded with a cleft line (6), exactly the complement of that shown in figure 1. This arrangement of the cleft split and half-cut lines allows the alternate folding forward or backward of each of the sectors with respect to that preceding.
