Abstract
Description
- The invention relates to a tool having a detachable or changeable handle.
- Typical tools comprise a tool member attached to a handle with fasteners which takes time to thread and to unthread the fasteners.
- The invention is to provide a tool including a detachable or changeable handle that may be solidly secured to the tool member.
- FIG. 1 is a partial exploded view of a tool;
- FIG. 2 is a partial side view of the tool;
- FIGS. 3, 4 are cross sectional views; and
- FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the other tool.
-
- Referring to FIGS. 1-3, a tool comprises a
handle 10 including abore 11, and agreater chamber 12 to form ashoulder 13 between thechamber 12 and thebore 11. Thehandle 10 includes aperipheral wall 14 to form thechamber 12 and to form anouter shoulder 15, and having anouter channel 16 defined between twoflanges 17. Thewall 14 includes aslot 18 communicating with thechamber 12 and thechannel 16 and defined between twoend fences opening 21 formed in theupper portion 22 and communicating with thechamber 12 and thechannel 16 of thehandle 10, and includes aninclined surface 23 formed in theupper portion 22. - A
ferrule 30 includes aperipheral bulge 31 extended from aninner surface 32 to force into thechannel 16 of thewall 14 over theinclined surface 23 of thewall 14, and acatch 33 extended from thebulge 31 to engage into theslot 18 via the opening 21 of thewall 14. Theend fences catch 33 to limit thecatch 33 to slide within theslot 18 of thewall 14. Theferrule 30 includes one ormore swellings 34 and/ordepressions 35 for rotating theferrule 30 relative to thewall 14 of thehandle 10. - A
tool member 40 includes a stem 41 to engage into thebore 11 of thehandle 10, ablock 42 to engage into thechamber 12 of thehandle 10, acap 43 to engage with thewall 14, and to position thetool member 40 to thehandle 10. Thetool member 40 includes one or moredriving shanks other end 52 with a ratchet mechanism (not shown), and aknob 53 to change the driving directions of thedriving shanks flat surfaces 49 to engage with thenon-circular bore 11 of thehandle 10, and to be driven by thehandle 10. - The
tool member 40 includes aperipheral groove 44 formed by aperipheral rib 45 to receive thecatch 33, and anotch 47 formed in theperipheral rib 45, to allow thecatch 33 to engage into theperipheral groove 44 via thenotch 47 of theblock 42.
