  1. Cap for a container such as an aerosol can designed to be displayed in a vertical position, comprising
    a retractable hanger element in the shape of a flat loop with a hanger eye made in a single piece with the material of the cap,
    characterised in that
    - the hanger element (2) is joined to the top (12) of the cap by a hinge (3) so that it can be folded down flat onto the top of the cap or can be moved into an upright hanging position and
    - the hinge (3) is disposed in a diametric position with respect to the cap.
  2. Container cap as claimed in claim 1,
    characterised in that
    the opening (21C) of the hanger element (2C) is of a triangular shape bounded by inclined sides (22C, 23C) joining at the apex (24C) to form a preferential centred hanging position on the bar of the display unit.
  3. Container cap as claimed in claim 1,
    characterised in that
    the hanger element (2C) is hook-shaped with a relatively small opening (26C), which has a boss (29C) at its base (28C).
  4. Container cap as claimed in claim 1,
    characterised in that
    the top (12) of the body (1) of the cap has a side boss (14), towards which the hanger element (2) is folded in the retracted position.
  5. Container cap as claimed in claim 1,
    characterised in that
    the hanger element has an integrally formed small spike which locates in a small hole of the cap when the hanger element is in the retracted position so that the hanger element is held flat on the top of the cap due to a clipping action.
