Les couronnes à vis sont couramment utilisées pour équiper des montres dans le but d'améliorer l'étanchéité de celles-ci au niveau de leur tige de remontage ou de commande. Ce type de couronne a la particularité de pouvoir prendre une position dévissée dans laquelle la montre peut être remontée, mise à l'heure etc. et une position vissée dans laquelle la couronne est vissée et bloquée sur un tube chassé dans la carrure de la boíte de montre afin de comprimer un joint d'étanchéité, améliorant ainsi l'étanchéité de la montre. sur la tête 2. La partie centrale 6 comporte un tube 10 muni d'un disque 12 à une de
ses extrémités. Typiquement, la partie centrale 6 est fixée par exemple par soudage,
collage, sertissage ou tout autre moyen approprié dans un premier épaulement 14
ménagé dans la tête 2. La jupe latérale 4 est pourvue dans sa partie intérieure d'un
taraudage 16 destiné à coopérer avec le filetage du tube chassé dans la carrure.
Dans l'exemple illustré, le taraudage 16 est rapporté au moyen d'une bague 18
taraudée fixée à la paroi intérieure de la jupe 4. Là encore, tout moyen approprié peut
être envisagé pour réaliser cette fixation, on citera à titre d'exemple le soudage, le
collage, le sertissage etc.The

épaulement 14 et un deuxième épaulement 24 contre lequel appuie un rebord
annulaire 26 du substrat 20. En outre il est prévu des moyens de freinage 28 qui
agissent par frottement et qui sont agencés pour maintenir différentes orientations
angulaires du substrat 20 par rapport à la carrure. Ainsi, lorsque la couronne 1 est
vissée en butée sur le tube chassé sur la carrure, le motif M peut être aisément
déplacé angulairement dans une position désirée contre la force de frottement
engendrée par les moyens de freinage 28 et maintenu dans la position désirée. Le
