Definitions
- the subject of the present invention is a method of partially applying a hair product on locks.
- the advantage of this invention is that it allows to apply such a product at different levels on wicks, and thus to obtain a visual effect of alternation between coated and therefore treated areas and areas not processed.
- An object of the invention is to propose a solution making it possible to obtain lower cost the possibility of producing the same pattern at different levels of a same wick, without coating the entire wick, considering said wick of roots to ends. We can thus obtain new and original effects on locks of hair.
- this elastically deformable notch includes preferably two substantially contiguous edges capable of moving apart one on the other to allow the introduction of the first end of the wick, this end then being retained by the elastic restoring force of these two edges tending to regain their substantially contiguous arrangement.
- an application means is used. able to load at least a quantity of this product, this means of application then being applied to the outer periphery of the support, in particular on the minus one of the zones of this outer periphery covered with a portion of said wick.
- the support is surrounded with the wick portion so to present several loops wound in a spiral, not superimposed, around the support.
- the outer periphery of the support is coated according to a strip parallel to a main axis of elongation of the support. So each loop of the portion of wick which is at the intersection of this strip is coated with produced with an identical width from one loop to another.
- the wick portion once unrolled then comprises several coated zones of the same height, in considering the height relative to the axis of the drill bit, these areas being distributed at regular intervals along the wick. These areas are spaced from each other. others on the same drill bit with the same spacing, the distance represented by this spacing being greater than the external perimeter of the support to which we have subtract the width of the strip.
- the product can be applied to the outer periphery of the support by following a spiral, or any other path, in particular in the case where the portion of wick is homogeneously wound on this support, we obtain then a first spacing between two consecutive coated zones and a second spacing between two other consecutive coated areas, such as this second spacing is different from the first spacing.
- the coated areas of said wick form bands, and the spacing between consecutive bands is then variable.
- the support is cylindrical and has a section of diameter chosen according to the desired spacing between two distinct zones coating the wick portion, i.e. depending on a spacing hoped for bands, or zones, of treated locks knowing the width of the bands generally applied on the outer periphery of the support.
- the diameter of this support is also chosen according to the length of the portion of wick to wrap around the support. The cylindrical shape allows not break the hair by winding it on a device that does not have de facto no edges on its outer periphery.
- the wick is retained in a notch defined in a plane parallel to the main elongation axis, and opens at one end of the support relative to its axis main elongation.
- the wick is retained in a notch, defined in a plane forming a non-zero angle with this axis main elongation, this angle being for example 90 °.
- this notch is chamfered so as to favor the introduction of the wick.
- the support is preferably cut out around which the wick is then wound in a block allowing to realize several supports such as those used in the invention.
- a second notch is made in the support for there retain a second end of the wick. So the wick wrapped around the support can be tensioned and retained by means of these two notches. We can so during a first step arrange all the wicks in winding each around their respective support, and only during one second step selectively apply the hair product to each strand as well wound.
- the first notch and second notch are preferably opposite relative to the main elongation axis of the support.
- the notches are advantageously defined in planes parallel to each other.
- the planes in which are defined the notches are intersecting.
- a flexible, elastically deformable support is chosen, and easy and inexpensive to manufacture, we choose in particular to cut the support in polymer foam, preferably with closed cells, by example obtained by extrusion of a polyolefin of the polyethylene, polyester type, polyether or polyurethane.
- Figure 1 shows a support 1 having a main elongation axis X, of cylindrical shape, of length L considered along the axis X, and of diameter D.
- the length L is between 5 and 15 centimeters.
- the diameter D is between 1 and 5 centimeters.
- the support 1 is cut so that the base 2 and the top 3 of the cylinder are orthogonal to the main elongation axis X.
- the support 1 has a first notch 4 formed parallel to the X axis, and therefore cut orthogonally to the vertex 3, this notch 4 emerging at this summit 3, and also on either side of this vertex 3 at the outer periphery 5 of this cylinder.
- Notch 4 also called slot 4 has two edges such that one of these two edges, at vertex 3, is chamfered 6 so as to locally indicate the presence of this notch and further facilitate the introduction of a portion of wick in this notch 4, as proposed in Figure 2a.
- the support is made of an elastically material deformable, thus any notch, for example made with a blade in this support, has at least two edges which are also elastically deformable.
- the slot 4 is delimited by two half-cylinders substantially contiguous longitudinally, and capable of elastically deviating from one of the other to allow the introduction of a portion of the wick at a end, here the top 3 of the support 1, the two half-cylinders of the slot 4 returning by elastic return to a substantially contiguous position when the wick is inserted into it, which allows it to be retained there without any other means of attachment.
- the part wick locked in this slot is therefore of substantially equal length to the diameter of the support 1.
- a wick M is isolated from the rest of the hair C, this wick M is slid into the first notch 4 so as to that a free portion of this wick M can then cooperate with the support 1.
- a portion of said wick is inserted close to the roots, or points, in this first notch 4.
- Figure 2c blocks the free portion at a second notch 7 such as the first notch 4, here produced at the base 2, as it is parallel to the X axis and therefore to the first notch 4. It can also be chamfered 8 and elastically deformable.
- the product is then applied to an area around the outside, in particular defined as a strip parallel to the X axis and cutting each turn on at least one spiral arc, Figure 2d.
- the product is spread so as not to cover the entire outer periphery of the support 1, and thus only coat partially the portion of the wick that is wrapped around.
- the portions are disengaged of this wick which are possibly retained in the first notch 4 and in the second notch 7, and we unroll the wick so as to release it completely of support 1.
- the hair treatment is finished, and the result obtained is of the type shown in Figure 2e.
- the product strip cut into at least three sections the wick M, which results in the presence of three distinct zones respectively 9, 10 and 11 at which the wick M presents the treatment and or the coloration linked to the locally applied hair product, while on the rest of the length of wick M keratin fibers have not been brought into contact with the hair product.
- zones 9, 10 and 11 have substantially the same height 12 relative to the length of the wick. Depending on how the hair product is applied on the outer periphery of the support 1, these areas could have different lengths. Furthermore, there is a first spacing 13 between the two first zones 9 and 10, and a second spacing 14 between the last two zones 10 and 11.
- the spacings 13 and 14 are here substantially identical, in the measure that the wick was wound in a regular turn around the support 1, and insofar as the product has been deposited in a strip parallel to the axis main elongation X, where but it could be different by varying winding or depositing the hair product.
- FIG. 3 shows a support 20 also cylindrical, and preferably also made of an elastically deformable material, to be used in the process according to the invention.
- notches 21 and 22 for retain the portion of wick wrapped around the support 20 are produced in planes perpendicular to the main elongation axis X.
- These notches 21 and 22 each have a slot at the outer periphery 23 of the cylinder, these slots not opening at the base 24 and top 25 faces.
- notches are in particular parallel to each other, and parallel to these bases 24 and vertex 25, and produced respectively near these faces 24 and 25 for optimize the support length 20 at which the drill bit can be wound.
- These notches 21 and 22 can also be resiliently deformable.
- Figure 4 shows another alternative embodiment of a support 30 to be used in the method according to the invention.
- the support 30 is also cylindrical and has several slots 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35 defined at the outer periphery 36 of the support, possibly parallel to each other, and possibly forming an angle with the main elongation axis X of the support 30. These slots do not open out at the level of the base 37 and vertex 38 faces which are orthogonal to the axis X.
- These slots or notches 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35 can also be elastically deformable to retain a portion of wick therein.
- the multiplicity of slots makes it possible to retain the wick at several points wrapped around the support 30, and thus create possibly more loops loose and not intended to be coated with product.
- this other variant makes the support 30 more suitable for the diversity of the lengths of the strands to be treated on the same head or from one user to another, in the case where the supports would be reused.

Abstract
Description
The subject of the present invention is a method of partially applying a hair product on locks. The advantage of this invention is that it allows to apply such a product at different levels on wicks, and thus to obtain a visual effect of alternation between coated and therefore treated areas and areas not processed.
In the state of the art, devices and methods are known allowing the coating of a hair product, in particular bleaching and or coloring, on a lock of hair, in particular over its entire length. Generally to make such wicks, and according to one of the techniques, simpler, the wick is placed on a pallet. The product is applied to the entire length of the wick using a brush. The locks are left at the air and separated from the rest of the hair by cotton bands placed at the hairline. After an adequate exposure time, the hair is washed conventionally. The method is long and tedious. Moreover, the treated wicks are inevitably brought into contact with the rest of the hair, which largely compromises the aesthetics of the result.
We also know from document US-5,992,425, a foam roller which can be impregnated with a hair product and on which the wick is wound in order to coat this wick with product over its entire winding length.
There is a need to make patterns in the hair which are different from the simple alternation of treated wicks and untreated wicks and which bring a new visual effect.
To get patterns in the middle of the hair, we know the document US Pat. No. 5,664,590, the use of stencils making it possible to delimit areas of the hair to be coated to obtain the desired pattern. However, such stencils do not are not easy to position correctly relative to the hair. Otherwise, it is difficult with these stencils to reproduce the same pattern with a a certain regularity of shape and spacing on the whole of the hair. We also knows from document DE-41,22,539, a curler around which one performs a helical winding of the wick, this curler then being inserted in a longitudinally perforated shell. A longitudinal opening of the shell thus gives access to visible portions of loops of the wick. If the wick is regularly wound, then the visible portions will be regularly spaced along the wick. Like a stencil, product can then be applied to these visible portions of the loop.
An object of the invention is to propose a solution making it possible to obtain lower cost the possibility of producing the same pattern at different levels of a same wick, without coating the entire wick, considering said wick of roots to ends. We can thus obtain new and original effects on locks of hair.
- a portion of the wick is wound around a support so as to form at least one loop around the support,
- a first end of the wick is retained in a first elastically deformable notch of the support,
- and the hair product is applied to the lock so as to coat at least part of this portion of lock wound on the outer periphery of the support.
Preferably, this elastically deformable notch includes preferably two substantially contiguous edges capable of moving apart one on the other to allow the introduction of the first end of the wick, this end then being retained by the elastic restoring force of these two edges tending to regain their substantially contiguous arrangement.
Preferably, to apply the product, an application means is used. able to load at least a quantity of this product, this means of application then being applied to the outer periphery of the support, in particular on the minus one of the zones of this outer periphery covered with a portion of said wick.
Preferably, the support is surrounded with the wick portion so to present several loops wound in a spiral, not superimposed, around the support.
Advantageously, the outer periphery of the support is coated according to a strip parallel to a main axis of elongation of the support. So each loop of the portion of wick which is at the intersection of this strip is coated with produced with an identical width from one loop to another. In addition, to the extent where the wick portion is homogeneously wound on the support, and in if the support is of constant section, the wick portion once unrolled then comprises several coated zones of the same height, in considering the height relative to the axis of the drill bit, these areas being distributed at regular intervals along the wick. These areas are spaced from each other. others on the same drill bit with the same spacing, the distance represented by this spacing being greater than the external perimeter of the support to which we have subtract the width of the strip.
Alternatively, the product can be applied to the outer periphery of the support by following a spiral, or any other path, in particular in the case where the portion of wick is homogeneously wound on this support, we obtain then a first spacing between two consecutive coated zones and a second spacing between two other consecutive coated areas, such as this second spacing is different from the first spacing. Generally the coated areas of said wick form bands, and the spacing between consecutive bands is then variable. Alternatively, to get this spacing variable, you can wind the wick portion with a given pitch but on a support of variable section, for example frustoconical.
Advantageously, the support is cylindrical and has a section of diameter chosen according to the desired spacing between two distinct zones coating the wick portion, i.e. depending on a spacing hoped for bands, or zones, of treated locks knowing the width of the bands generally applied on the outer periphery of the support. In addition, the diameter of this support is also chosen according to the length of the portion of wick to wrap around the support. The cylindrical shape allows not break the hair by winding it on a device that does not have de facto no edges on its outer periphery.
According to a first embodiment, the wick is retained in a notch defined in a plane parallel to the main elongation axis, and opens at one end of the support relative to its axis main elongation.
According to a second embodiment, the wick is retained in a notch, defined in a plane forming a non-zero angle with this axis main elongation, this angle being for example 90 °.
Advantageously, this notch is chamfered so as to favor the introduction of the wick.
In the process according to the invention, the support is preferably cut out around which the wick is then wound in a block allowing to realize several supports such as those used in the invention. We make a notch with a cutting medium, for example a blade or a cutter, before winding the wick.
Preferably, a second notch is made in the support for there retain a second end of the wick. So the wick wrapped around the support can be tensioned and retained by means of these two notches. We can so during a first step arrange all the wicks in winding each around their respective support, and only during one second step selectively apply the hair product to each strand as well wound.
To allow winding of the wick portion around the entire circumference outside of the support, and in particular avoid overlapping two wicks, the first notch and second notch are preferably opposite relative to the main elongation axis of the support.
To facilitate the realization of the notches and in particular preferably use only one cutting means, the notches are advantageously defined in planes parallel to each other. Alternatively, the planes in which are defined the notches are intersecting.
Preferably, a flexible, elastically deformable support is chosen, and easy and inexpensive to manufacture, we choose in particular to cut the support in polymer foam, preferably with closed cells, by example obtained by extrusion of a polyolefin of the polyethylene, polyester type, polyether or polyurethane.
For example to deposit the hair product in the form of a strip we use a brush that we move around the outer edge of the support trying not to crush the bristles of the brush too much to guarantee the width of the tape made. So we choose preferably a brush with hard bristles.

Preferably, the support is made of an elastically material deformable, thus any notch, for example made with a blade in this support, has at least two edges which are also elastically deformable.

Optionally, Figure 2c blocks the free portion at a
The product is then applied to an area around the outside, in
particular defined as a strip parallel to the X axis and cutting each turn
on at least one spiral arc, Figure 2d. The product is spread so as not to
cover the entire outer periphery of the
When the product exposure time is over, the portions are disengaged
of this wick which are possibly retained in the
These
déformables.FIG. 3 shows a
Alternatively, Figure 4 shows another alternative embodiment of a
The multiplicity of slots makes it possible to retain the wick at several points
wrapped around the
