Definitions

  • the invention relates to a plug part for an electrical connector according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
  • a generic connector is disclosed in the published patent application DE 39 12 189 A1 known as prior art embodiment.
  • This connector has a touchable metal part in the form of a metal housing, in which an insulating body is inserted. In the insulating body openings are formed in the form of slots, in which a plurality of contact elements are used. In a slot, a protective contact element is used, which is connected to a protective conductor. From the parallel to the longitudinal axis of the connector extending protective contact element, a spring arm is bent out, which forms a contact nose and rests resiliently against a contact surface on the inner circumference of the metal housing.
  • the known solution proposes a protective contact element in the form of a contact blade, which comprises a contact part at one end and a connection part for the protective conductor at the other end. Adjacent to the connection part, an annular spring (spring means) is arranged on the protective contact element and preferably fixed. The attachment is preferably by welding. The spring means may for example also be held by attached loops.
  • the annular spring has a relatively small thickness, but a relatively large spring width.
  • a protective earth contact electrical connector which consists of a two-part, a number of contact elements receiving and supporting insulating body and a metallic outer housing receiving this. in the Insulating body are connected to the associated electrical wires Kunststoffelemerite by nesting the two parts set.
  • the protective conductor contact is a permanently arranged in the outer housing of the connector housing, automatically assigned when inserting the contact element of the protective conductor in the insulating body and an electrically conductive connection to the outer housing creating device assigned.
  • the device is formed by a protective conductor contact coaxially aligned in the insulating body, radially expandable spring sleeve and means of radially directed webs connected to this, coaxial with the longitudinal axis of the plug housing curved spring clip formed.
  • the spring sleeve is in contact with an inner peripheral surface of the outer housing.
  • a disadvantage of this connector is that an additional intermediate device is required for the electrically conductive connection between the protective conductor contact and the outer housing. By this separately inserted into the plug device increases the assembly effort in terms of the required tools and the required time and the risk of assembly errors. In this known extra device to be used, it may also cause contact problems both to the outer housing and the protective conductor contact due to manufacturing tolerance-related Dimensional variations of the elaborately designed device come.
  • the invention is therefore the object of developing a plug part of the type mentioned in such a way that a safe and simple electrically conductive connection between the connector housing and protective conductor contact can be ensured with simultaneous power transmission.
  • the object is achieved according to the invention by a plug part of the type mentioned above with the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.
  • the protective conductor contact the plug housing contacted directly electrically are dispensed with additional intermediate connection means between protective conductor contact and plug housing, resulting in the assembly effort the insertion of the protective conductor contact limited.
  • the direct contact according to the invention increases the contact reliability between the protective conductor contact and the plug housing, as a result of which the safety of the plug part is improved overall when the insulating body burns off.
  • the protective conductor contact has externally parked contact springs, which rest under bending stress on the connector housing, a manufacturing technology reproducible, defined by material and structural design of the contact springs adjustable contact force is achieved.
  • the protective conductor contact has a sleeve part with webs extending parallel to the central axis between two end-side closing rings, wherein at least part of the webs is designed as contact springs
  • the part of the protective conductor contact having the contact springs can be produced separately from the manufacturing process and subsequently fixed to the other part of the protective conductor contact be connected so that the protective conductor contact can be completely inserted with integrated contact springs in the plug part.
  • the sleeve member also applies to the region of the protective conductor contact over which it extends, a reinforcing effect and a protective effect for about sensitive, disposed within the sleeve portion of the protective conductor contact.
  • the contact springs extend approximately in the plug-in direction and are arranged distributed rotationally symmetrically with respect to a center axis of the protective conductor contact.
  • the applied under bending stress contact springs each generate a directed to the center axis of the protective conductor contact force, which centered due to the symmetrical arrangement of the contact springs, the protective conductor contact in a receiving cylindrical recess.
  • a so-called Schustecking during the insertion process i. an insertion of the pin contact of a mating connector in the annular gap outside of the socket contact and within its him receiving recess, largely excluded.
  • the contact springs are connected at least to the plug-side end ring. Regardless of whether the outwardly parked contact springs are connected in an open configuration only with the plug-side end ring or in a closed configuration with the circuit-side end ring, this measure ensures easy and safe insertion of the protective conductor contact in the plug part. Since the plug-side end ring of the sleeve part, with which the contact springs are at least connected, precedes the conductor-side end ring during insertion of the protective conductor contact, the contact springs do not act as Barb, but slides resiliently over the edges of the protective conductor contact receiving recess in the plug part.
  • the contact springs are not connected to the conductor-side end ring and their free ends formed bent inward. By bending at their free ends creates an outwardly facing convex surface, which serves as a defined contact surface of the contact springs to the connector housing.
  • the rounded shape of the free ends of the contact springs additional Verhakungsde be avoided when inserting the support conductor contact so that the imported protective contact piece undamaged can fulfill its function.
  • the plug housing has a protective conductor contact receiving bore, against the inner wall of the contact springs.
  • the plug housing preferably designed as a cast metal part, in this way receives in its bore the contactor contact, which contacts the connector housing directly via the voltage applied to the inner wall of the bore contact springs. Apart from the plug housing and the protective conductor contact, therefore, no additional devices are required which would have to establish an electrically conductive connection between these components.
  • FIG. 1 in a partial section shown plug part for a detachable electrical connector comprises a number of electrically conductive contact pieces, in particular a protective conductor contact 1, which are inserted into designated cylindrical recesses 2 of an insulating body 3.
  • a mother plug is shown here, in which the contact pieces, in particular the protective conductor contact 1, are designed as socket contacts.
  • the cylindrical recesses 2 and these plug-side continuing through holes 4 in the insulating body 3 extend in the insertion direction S.
  • the contact pieces 1 receiving insulating 3 is disposed in an outer metallic connector housing 5 with a freely rotatable to this nut 6.
  • the plug housing 5 has a protective conductor contact 1 receiving bore 8, against the inner wall 9, the contact springs 7 abut due to their bending stress. Upon erosion of the insulating body 3, the plug housing 5 thus remains electrically conductively connected to the protective conductor contact 1 in accordance with the VDE guidelines.
  • FIG. 2 An in FIG. 2 in a side view illustrated contact piece, which can be used in particular as a protective conductor contact 1, but also for the other of the power or signal transmission assigned pole of the connector part can be used, has at one end a connection portion 10 for an electrical conductor, in particular a protective conductor, and on the other end facing away from a contact area 11, which is provided for producing an electrical contact with mating contacts, not shown, of a mating connector.
  • the contact piece 1 is composed of a socket part 12 and a sleeve part 13 fixedly connected thereto.
  • the female part 12 is made as a stamped or bent part from a flat strip material. For connecting the contact piece 1 to an electrical conductor, not shown, a crimp connection is provided.
  • the female part 12 in the connection region 10 has two pairs of each upwardly bent connecting tabs, between which the electrical conductor, not shown, is inserted when connecting.
  • the wider, inner pair of connecting tabs forms the actual crimping contact, of which after crimping the stripped free end of the electrical conductor, not shown, is enclosed.
  • the outer pair of connecting tabs is bent around during the crimping process to the protective sheath of the electrical conductor, not shown, and thus serves as a clamping connection, which determines the electrical conductor, not shown, on the female part 12 of the contact piece 1 mechanically such that relieves the electrical connection in the region of the crimp is.
  • the female part 12 is configured for receiving a contact pin, not shown, of the mating connector of the electrical connector.
  • the socket part 12 is formed as a cylindrical hollow body, which in the contact area 11, as in FIG. 1 shown schematically, a plurality of web-like fins 14 which are curved by rotation of the female part 12 in the contact area 11 about a central axis 15 of the contact piece 1 in the form of hyperbolic surfaces inwards and in their entirety forms a plurality of local contact points, which invest in the insertion of a contact pin in the socket part 12 at the periphery under elastic bias.
  • the sleeve member 13 is pushed to reinforce and protect the slats 14 in the contact area 11 on the female part 12 and, for example, by laser welding firmly connected thereto.
  • the outwardly parked contact springs 7 are fixed and extend approximately in the insertion direction S, so that the contact piece 1 easily and without risk of entanglement of the contact springs 7 in its recess 2 in the insulator 3 and through the hole 8 in Plug housing 5 is inserted.
