Erfindungsgemäß dient das integrierte Bedienelement 7 hauptsächlich als Sicherheits- oder Notschaltung, beispielsweise für den Fall, dass die Fernbedienungseinheit 8 verlegt wurde oder eine Funktionsstörung aufweist. Die Bedieneinheit 7 ist daher auf die Steuerung der Gerätegrundfunktionen reduziert. Dies sind beispielsweise das Ein- und Ausschalten der Werkbank, das Einschalten der Lüftung oder Beleuchtung oder der Versorgungsspannung für die integrierten Steckdosen. Außerdem kann mit der integrierten Bedieneinheit 7 die Frontscheibe 6 auf und ab bewegt werden. Zweckmäßig lässt sich mit der Bedieneinheit 7 außerdem ein Alarmsignal quittieren, welches bei einer Fehlfunktion der Sicherheitswerkbank 1 ausgelöst wird. Mit der Bedieneinheit 7 gegebene Befehle haben Vorrang vor denjenigen, welche mit der Fernbedienungseinheit 8 gegeben wurden.
