Es ist bekannt, langgestreckte und in ihrer Längsrichtung transportierte Werkstücke zumindest auf einem Teil ihrer Oberfläche mit einem Beschichtungsmedium zu versehen. Als Beschichtungsmedien werden pump- und filterfähige, düsengängige Flüssigkeiten wie Pigmentlösungen, Farben, Lacke, Grundierungen und Imprägnierungsmittel eingesetzt. Für den Beschichtungsvorgang wird das Werkstück durch eine Beschichtungskammer bewegt, an die eine Vakuumleitung angeschlossen ist. Die Beschichtungskammer ist für den Durchlaß des Werkstückes mit einer Einlaßmatritze und einer Auslaßmatritze versehen, die beide dem Querschnitt des Werkstückes angepaßt, jedoch um ein vorgegebenes Maß größer ausgebildet sind, so dass ein umlaufender, gleichbleibender Spalt zwischen der Oberfläche des Werkstückes und den Matritzen vorhanden ist. Über den Spalt in der Einlaßmatritze und in der Auslaßmatritze wird Luft von außen angesaugt, so dass sich in der Beschichtungskammer ein Vakuum angestrebter Größe einstellt. Am Eingang der Beschichtungskammer, also kurz hinter der Einlaßmatritze, ist ein Beschichtungsrahmen vorgesehen, der entweder mehrere Bohrungen oder mehrere Flachstrahldüsen besitzt, über die das Beschichtungsmedium zumindest auf einen Teil der Oberfläche des Werkstückes aufgesprüht wird. Hinter dem Beschichtungsrahmen befindet sich mit Abstand vor der Auslaßmatritze noch eine Auslaufführung für das Werkstück. Bei einer derartigen Vorrichtung wird das Beschichtungsmedium am Eingang der Beschichtungskammer immer entgegen der Luftströmung auf das Werkstück aufgetragen. Dabei besteht die Gefahr, dass das Beschichtungsmedium, zumindest stellenweise, das Werkstück nicht erreicht. Bei einer verhältnismäßig dünnen Beschichtung kann es darüber hinaus noch im Bereich der Auslaufführung zu Fehlstellen kommen, da an den Berührungspunkten keine sogenannte Verschlichtung der Beschichtung durch angesaugte Luft erfolgt. Der Erfindung liegt nun die Aufgabe zugrunde, eine Vorrichtung zum Auftragen eines Beschichtungsmediums auf zumindest einer Teiloberfläche eines langgestreckten und in seiner Längsrichtung transportierten Werkstückes aufzuzeigen, bei der ohne zusätzlichen Aufwand ein gleichmäßigerer und konstanter Auftrag des Beschichtungsmediums erreicht wird, der auch bei höheren Produktionsgeschwindigkeiten noch eine sehr gute Qualität der Beschichtung zuläßt. Dadurch bedingt, dass der Auftrag des Beschichtungsmediums - in Transportrichtung des Werkstückes 2 gesehen - hinter der Auslaufführung 8 erfolgt, werden durch dieselbe keine Fehlstellen der Beschichtung auf dem Werkstück 2 erzeugt. Die Beschichtung wird jetzt in Transportrichtung des Werkstückes 2 auf dasselbe aufgetragen. Durch die über den Spalt 7 in der Auslaßmatritze 6 angesaugte Luft, wird überschüssiges Beschichtungsmedium mitgerissen.
