Abstract
Description
- The purpose to which the invention protected by this Patent refers is a "Modular structure for washbasin furniture".
- The furniture to support washbasins generally adopt the structure known as a table, with support legs and a flat upper board or bench, eventually using the lower space to put small cabinets or drawers.
- Due to productivity requirements, these pieces of furniture are usually manufactured at an industrial scale, all with the same sizes, optionally chosen by the each manufacturer.
- Therefore, it is unlikely that these pieces of furniture in series properly fit into the space reserved for this purpose in the bathrooms, according to the construction project.
- As a result of these maladjustments wasted spaces are created that, furthermore, lead to a certain lack of functionality of the sanitary set and break its esthetic harmony.
- The aim of the invention constituting the purpose of this Patent consists in overcoming the inconveniences of the furniture for washbasins manufactured with standardized sizes, previously described, for which it has been studied, designed and developed.
- The essentiality of the invention is centered on the dimensional adaptability of the structure of the furniture, making it modular to facilitate adjustment of its characteristics to the requirements (spatial, formal, functional and esthetic) of the user.
- The structure, which answers to the general typology of a table, includes the following elements:
Two equal sets, each one made up of two legs or vertical rectangular prismatic stanchions, joined by three horizontal crosspieces or bonds; the upper one joins the upper ends of the legs; the intermediate one defines a rectangular space with the upper one and the legs; and the lower one, which does not reach the lower ends of the legs, defines a rectangular frame with the legs and the intermediate one that shape a bench.
A flat bench, with one or two holes for the washbasin drainage (or washbasins if these are two), located either in the center or otherwise; and with one or two mortises on the larger edge of the bench that lean against the wall through which the hot and cold water supply connections pass to the monobloc tap, where the corresponding holes and mortises, aligned in perpendicular straight lines to the plane of the wall are found.
Screws secured to the wall of each two-legged set, so that the plane defined by these is perpendicular to it, applied to the upper and lower thirds of the leg next to the wall and placing between both (wall and leg) cylindrical separators axially pierced by the screws.
Securing screws of the bench to the upper crosspiece of the two-legged sets, placing cylindrical separators between the bench and crosspiece axially pierced by the screws.
The described structure facilitates the adaptation of the piece of furniture for the washbasin to the sizes assigned to it in the constructive project, without having to do more than cut the bench to the required size and machine the auxiliary passes that go through it in the suitable positions (water inlets, drainage, screws).
The advantages provided by this modular structure are made more obvious in the cases where the design of bathrooms is repetitive in its formal and dimensional characteristics (projects for large apartment building, hotels, etc.), although the adjusting flexibility provided by the structure permits attending singular requirements with the same efficiency. - To complement the description of the invention and facilitate the interpretation of its formal, structural and functional characteristics, attached are drawings in which the different aspects of a preferred performance of the "Modular structure washbasin furniture" constituting the purpose of this Patent are represented.
- In said drawings:
- Figure 1 represents a perspective detail of the structure.
- Figure 2 is a section of one of the two-legged sets, cut by the plane that appears represented as B-B in Figure 3.
- Figure 3 is a floor view of the two-legged set
- Figure 4 is a section of a two-legged set, cut by the plant that appears represented as A-A in Figure 2.
- Figure 5 is a front elevation view of a two-legged set, seen from the wall to which it is secured.
- Figure 6 shows a front elevation view of the set mounted on a structure for a washbasin; Figure 7, a side elevation of same; and Figure 8 a floor view.
- Figures 9, 10 and 11 illustrate specific solutions for taking advantage of the lower space of the piece of furniture.
-
- In order to clearly show the nature and scope of the advantageous application of the "Modular structure for washbasin furniture", the following is a description of its composition, making reference to the drawings that, on representing a preferred performance of said objective for information purposes, must be considered in the widest and non-limiting sense of the application and content of the claimed invention.
- The structure responds to the generic typology of a table and includes the following elements:
Two equal sets, each one composed of two vertical, rectangular prismatic legs (1), joined by three crosspieces or bonds, the upper one (2') that joins the upper ends of the legs (1), the intermediate one (2") that defines a rectangular space with the upper one (2') and the legs (1); and the lower one (2"'), which does not reach the lower ends of the legs (1), defines a rectangular frame with the legs and the intermediate one (2") that shape a bench (3).
A flat bench (4), with one or two holes (5) for the washbasin drainage (or washbasins if these are two), located either in the center or otherwise; and with one or two mortises (6) on the larger edge of the bench (4) near the wall where the corresponding holes (5) and mortises (6), aligned in perpendicular straight lines to the plane of the wall are found.
Screws (7) secured to the wall of each two-legged set, so that the plane defined by these is perpendicular to it, applied to the upper and lower thirds of the leg next to the wall and placing between both (wall and leg) cylindrical separators (9) axially pierced by the screws (7).
Securing screws (9) of the bench (4) to the upper crosspiece (2) of the two-legged sets, placing cylindrical separators between the bench (4) and crosspiece (2) axially pierced by the screws (9).
