Abstract
Eine Vorrichtung zum Reinigen von Abgasen eines Verbrennungsmotors besteht aus einem Wabenkörper (10) mit einem motornahen und einem motorfernen Ende und einer auf diesen Wabenkörper (10) aufgebrachten aktiven Beschichtung. Zur Verhinderung von Beschädigungen weist der Wabenkörper im Bereich des motornahen Endes wenigstens eine beschichtungsfrei Zone (18) auf. Die Herstellung einer solchen Vorrichtung kann durch ein mehrstufiges Eintauchen des Wabenkörpers (10) in flüssigen Washcoat (40) erfolgen. A device for cleaning exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine consists of a honeycomb body (10) with an end close to the engine and an end remote from the engine and an active coating applied to this honeycomb body (10). In order to prevent damage, the honeycomb body has at least one coating-free zone (18) in the region of the end near the engine. Such a device can be produced by immersing the honeycomb body (10) in liquid washcoat (40) in several stages.
