Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Optimierung der Qualität, von in mindestens einer Gießmaschine mit Kokille (2) endlos gießbaren Gießsträngen (1) mit runden oder annähernd runden Querschnitten bzw. Querschnittsbereichen, im Bereich der Soft-Reduktion (Resterstarrung). Hierzu werden die Gießstränge (1) unterhalb der Kokille (2) im Bereich der Resterstarrung in wenigstens einer Reduzierebene durch anstellbare Rollen (4, 5) zur Verbesserung der Innenqualität reduzierend verformt. In einem weiteren Schritt kann der runde oder annähernd runde Gießquerschnitt durch beidseitig anstellbare und um 90° zur Reduzierebene versetzte Rollen (4, 5) um einen Betrag zwischen 5 und 60 % der Hauptreduzierung im Bereich der Resterstarrung (8) verformt werden, um die Innenqualität durch eine weitere Kernverdichtung zu erhöhen.
