Definitions
- the invention relates to an antenna transmitting electromagnetic radiation comprising a set of turns. It relates more particularly, but not exclusively, to a wire antenna which is formed from a web or ribbon of parallel wires.
- a wire antenna intended to transmit square signals in a relatively frequency band narrow.
- a transmission device is used, in particular to transmit signals from a motor vehicle to a portable object normally held by the vehicle owner; following an interrogation transmitted from the vehicle to the object, the latter transmits an identification signal to the vehicle which can be used to unlock the doors and / or vehicle operating contact.
- This communication system between the vehicle and the portable object avoids the introduction of keys in locks.
- a transmitter should only transmit the frequencies for which it is planned so as not to cause noise in other frequency ranges which are usually used for other broadcasts.
- the risks of emission in adjacent frequency bands are important.
- the invention results from the observation that the emissions mainly due to the ability parasites as well as the inductances of the turns.
- the invention provides that the emitting turns form a sheet of wires in which a turn is brought up to a potential reference, such as mass, between two emission turns.
- the turns brought to the reference voltage can be active or inactive, i.e. they constitute emission turns or that they only constitute turns protection or shielding.
- the whole turns brought to the reference potential constitutes a set of turns in parallel analogous to a single turn.
- the antenna is associated with a transmission circuit in which the signals to be transmitted are applied to a controlled switch so as to make it alternately conductive and blocked and the antenna has a primary inductance consisting of one or more turns turns in parallel and a secondary inductor in series with this primary inductor, this inductor comprising one or several turns in series.
- the controlled switch is connected to the junction between these two inductors, a capacitor being disposed across all two inductors in series and the mounting is such that when the switch is conductor, the primary inductance charges with energy, and when the switch is open, this energy is supplied to the oscillating circuit constituted by the two inductors in series and the capacitor, the loss resistance of this oscillating circuit being negligible.
- the two inductors which constitute the antenna, form an autotransformer.
- the intensity of the current emitted is particularly high.
- the transmission is fast.
- the invention relates to a wire antenna for device for transmitting periodic radio signals in a specific frequency band comprising a set of wired turns.
- This antenna is such that two turns emitters are separated by a turn brought to a potential of reference such as mass.
- the turn (or turns) brought to a potential of reference can also constitute one (or more) turn (s) resignation.
- several turns brought to a potential reference can be arranged in parallel.
- the turn (s) brought to a reference potential and the other emitting turns form an autotransformer.
- the turns are, for example, part of a sheet of wires in solidarity with each other.
- connection of the turns to each other is done through a printed circuit type plate (24).
- the antenna can be used in an information transmission device from a vehicle to a portable object near the vehicle, this device being intended to transmit signals alternately making conductor and blocked a switch controlled, such as a transistor, this device being such that, for the emission, at least one primary turn is provided emission and, in series with this primary turn, turns secondary in series, the controlled switch being connected to the junction between the primary turn and the secondary turns, a capacitor being disposed across all of these turns in series, the assembly being such that, when the switch is conductive, the primary turn charges energy, and when the switch is open, that energy is supplied to the oscillating circuit made up of all the turns in series and the capacitor.
- a switch controlled such as a transistor
- the antennas that we will describe in relation to figures, in particular figures 2 and 4, are intended for transmitting information from a motor vehicle to an object portable nearby. Such wire antennas are excited by square signals.
- Figure 1 and Figure 3 show exemplary embodiments of transmission circuits.
- the transmission circuit known in itself, represented in Figure 1 has, between a terminal 10, on which is applied the positive pole of a vehicle battery, and the ground, an inductor 12 and a MOS transistor 14.
- the point common to transistor 14 and inductance 12 is connected to the ground via a capacitor 16, a coil or transmission antenna 18, and of a resistor 20.
- transistor 14 When transistor 14 is conductive, the inductance 12 accumulates energy which it releases to the antenna 18 when this transistor is blocked.
- the signals applied to the electrode 141 of the transistor 14 can be modulated in two different ways.
- the slots applied to the electrode 141 have a constant frequency but one emission on several periods corresponds, for example, to a "1" while an absence emission corresponds to a "0".
- Such an order by all or nothing is sometimes called amplitude modulation. She can be used to issue a wake-up signal from a badge finding nearby.
- the transistor control signals can be also frequency modulated, i.e. the information to be transmit by antenna 18 are represented by frequency square signals applied to the control electrode of the transistor 14.
- the antenna 18 consists of turns, each of which has the general shape of a rectangle. These turns are embedded in the roof of the vehicle (not shown) and are formed from a sheet of insulated wires 22 1 to 22 7 forming a ribbon.
- the ends of the wires are connected to a printed circuit board 24 (FIG. 2a) which has conductive paths allowing the turns to be connected in series in the following order: 22 1 , 22 3 , 22 5 , 22 2 , 22 4 , 22 6 and 22 7 .
- the turns of even rank 22 2 , 22 4 and 22 6 each have a terminal to ground.
- a single conductive path 26 has been shown in Figure 2a.
- the inductance with seven turns 22 1 to 22 7 comprises an alternation of wires arranged one after the other, a wire (constituting a turn) being preceded and followed by a grounded wire.
- the turns 2 22, 22 4 and 22 6 to the ground constitute screens which reduce the parasitic capacities between turns. Under these conditions, it has been found that the emissions outside the useful frequency band are negligible.
- the transmitter device comprises, like that represented in FIG. 1, a transistor 30, by example of MOS type, on the control electrode 31 of which are applied rectangular signals.
- a terminal of this transistor switch 30 is connected to ground while its other terminal is connected to a connection point 32 between an inductor primary 34 and a secondary inductor 36.
- Inductors 34 and 36 are constituted by turns in series.
- the terminal of inductance 34 which is opposite to terminal 32 junction at transistor 30 is connected to the positive (+) terminal 38 of a storage battery, the other terminal of which is connected to the mass.
- a capacitor 40 is arranged.
- the inductors 34 and 36 constituting the transmitting antenna, are formed from a sheet of wires 42 0 to 42 8 in which the wires 42 0 and 42 8 are ribbon constitute an external shielding, these wires 42 0 and 42 8 being grounded and not constituting turns for the inductors 34 and 36.
- the inductor 34 is made from the wires 42 2 , 42 4 and 42 6 in parallel and the inductor 36 is made from the wires forming turns in series 42 1 , 42 3 , 42 5 and 42 7 .
- the wires 42 2 , 42 4 and 42 6 are on each side at the same potential, namely one end of the wires is on one side at the positive potential of the battery (reference 38 on the Figure 3) and on the other side, these wires are all connected at the same point 32.
