Definitions
- the invention relates to a swing top bottle.
- Swing top bottles have been known for more than 100 years. For example, show DE-PS 70 421 and DE-PS 86 312 such bottles. It is about Glass bottles on which a closure body made of a ceramic material is attached with a wire bracket. The closure body is elastic Seal made of cork or rubber.
- the wire bracket is designed so that the closure body in a closed Position with its sealing surface under pressure in contact with the bottle mouth. When the bottle is opened, the bracket holds the closure body on the bottle neck.
- the bracket either encircles the bottle neck or engages from the outside Recesses in the bottle neck. In the latter case it is a significant one Material thickness necessary to securely fasten the locking bracket.
- the existing plastic bottles have a very thin wall. The It is therefore not possible to attach a locking bracket.
- the making of a Plastic bottle in its dimensions and in particular the dimensioning corresponds to the wall thickness of a glass bottle, but is due to the special Manufacturing process of a plastic bottle is not easily possible.
- a swing top bottle which thereby is characterized in that it consists of plastic and a section in the neck area has a wall thickness that the wall thickness of a swing top bottle Glass corresponds, and which serves to accommodate the locking bracket.
- the closure body is also made of plastic.
- the Seal can also be made from an elastic plastic material, so that only the metal bracket remains as foreign material. However, it is easy removable.
- the locking bracket can also be made Plastic are made. Then all problems with the Material separation.
- the bottle neck has an area whose wall thickness is Wall thickness corresponds to a conventional glass bottle.
- The is preferably Wall thickness in this area 2-4 mm, especially 3 mm.
- the bottle has sufficient stability and sufficient Wall thickness to securely attach a locking bracket. It can be there opposing recesses are arranged, in which the Locking bracket can be hooked.
- the wall thickness of the bottle can be lower in all other areas. Thereby the bottle can be produced in the conventional way.
- the area can be Continue with thicker walls in the neck area up to the bottle mouth.
- the mouth is preferably rounded. This is the same as with conventional plastic bottles Avoided as a sharp-edged bottle mouth and the feeling a conventional glass bottle.
- the swing top bottle according to the invention can according to a preferred Training in the neck area below the attachment of the bow lock have circumferential bead. This bead serves to stabilize the bottle. To the Opening a swing top bottle will create a force between the locking strap and Bottle neck built up, which can be absorbed by the bead. The Bottle neck is not deformed. The consumer doesn't get the feeling conveys that it is an inferior bottle. The bead also serves as Reinforcement of the neck of the bottle so that when the bottle is filled with Withstand carbonated beverages up to 8 bar.
- the swing top bottle according to the invention preferably consists of PET or PEN.
- the bottle shown in Figures 1 and 2 is made of PET.
- the bottle In the area of the bottle neck 1 , the bottle has a material thickness that corresponds approximately to the material thickness of a conventional glass bottle with a clip closure.
- the material thickness is about 3 mm.
- the bottle has two mutually opposite recesses 2 , into which a conventional clip closure is inserted.
- the material thickness is reinforced from this area to the bottle mouth 3 compared to the rest of the bottle body, so that the bottle mouth 3 can be made slightly rounded. This results in a significantly more pleasant feeling when drinking from the bottle.
- the bottle has a circumferential bead 4 with a further increased material thickness, which gives the bottle neck greater stability.
- pressure can be applied to this ring.
- the bottle does not deform when opened. There is no impression of an inferior bottle.
- the material thickness is reduced compared to the bottle neck.
- the bottle In the area of the bottle base 5 , the bottle also has an increased wall thickness in order to counter the heavy bottle neck with the clip closure and to give the bottle a favorable center of gravity. This prevents the bottle from tipping over slightly when half full or when empty.
