Definitions
- the invention relates to rotatable grinding tools with axially acting abrasives, Processing machines with such grinding tools and processing methods of workpieces using grinding tools.
- Vibratory grinding often uses a grinding surface that is 2-dimensional lateral grinding movement (swinging movement).
- An orbital sander has Example of a grinding surface with abrasive that swings straight and circular.
- Longitudinal grinding is achieved by a 1-dimensional longitudinal movement of an abrasive characterized.
- a typical example is a so-called belt sander with rollers that one Drag endless sanding belt (e.g. a linen sanding belt) over a fixed plate.
- the Belt grinder only grinds in one direction and is more suitable for large ones Surfaces as an orbital sander.
- rotary grinding body that is at least one Axis rotates.
- Rotary abrasives in which nonwoven or tissue-based abrasives are included elastic behavior are known.
- Such rotary grinding bodies are used, for example, for surface treatments such as lacquer finishing or Intermediate lacquer sanding in wood processing (solid and veneer wood), and for that Smoothing, polishing and deburring of other materials are used.
- the commercial abrasives usually consist of ready-made, in Plastic, fabric, wood or steel embedded abrasives. Disadvantage for the The user is the large and expensive warehousing of different dimensions, Hardness, effects and abrasive grain sizes depending on each other. The Disposable use of these tools means an unnecessary, sometimes considerable one Additional consumption of carrier materials with corresponding disposal costs and associated environmental pollution and cost creation.
- U.S. Patent 4,625,466 describes a polishing tool with a belt-shaped Polishing cloth, the outer circumference of which is provided with abrasive grains. This band-shaped polishing cloth is wound spirally on a tool disk. The Polishing cloth is glued to this tool disc.
- U.S. Patent 1,417,593 shows another polishing tool.
- it is a Polishing agent coiled spirally and by means of a clamping ring on a turntable attached.
- Another grinding tool is from the published European patent application EP 922535-A1 known.
- the grinding tool is with radially arranged grinding flaps Mistake. Radially arranged elastic are located between these grinding flaps Intermediate elements.
- the invention is based, tools and tool carriers for the task To create machining of workpieces.
- this object is achieved by the axially acting tool according to claim 1, the machine tool with axial tool according to claim 19, the use of an axially acting tool according to claim 23 and a method for machining a workpiece according to claim 25.
- the tool according to the invention can be used for simultaneous surface grinding, in particular for surface cross grinding (surface grinding with cross grinding effect), and for grinding adjacent radii can be used.

- the tab-shaped abrasives 13 are somewhat longer (length L2) than the height L1 of the cylindrical abrasive 11.
- the lobed Abrasives 13 protrude from the cylindrical abrasives 11.
- FIG 1C This grinding effect is shown schematically in Figure 1C.
- a single grinding cloth 13 can be seen, which grinds past an edge of a workpiece 20 in the snapshot shown. In this example, the grinding movement runs from bottom right to top left. Thereby the edge of the workpiece 20 is ground. The harder and less flexible that Sanding flaps 13 are attached, the stronger the contact pressure against the edge of the Workpiece 20.

- the intermediate layer 74 is preferably constructed such that the finger is under a pane or under another tool part (e.g. a rotating body according to Figure 5, 6, or 8) can be clamped. Details can be found in Figure 10. As shown an abrasive strip 73 is fixed in the middle by an intermediate layer 74 such that the Abrasive strip 73 has two free ends 75.
- FIG. 90 Another form and shape of an intermediate layer 90 can be seen from FIG. It consists of a lower part 91, which is used for clamping or fastening to the rotating body. An abrasive strip 92 is provided at the upper end of the intermediate layer 90. Thanks to the shape of the intermediate layers, which varies in thickness, hardness and height, the support of the abrasive strips can be individually adapted to requirements.
- the liner can be made from two or more different materials be composed.
- a finger made of metal or plastic as a carrier and a bristle strip as a support body.
- the recesses in the rotating body for the accommodation of the intermediate layers can either axially (as shown e.g. in Figure 10), or with a positive angle axially (cf. Figure 12) or negative angle (cf. Figure 13) with respect to the axial position.

- An exemplary arrangement of several tools according to the invention is shown in FIG 15 to see. In the example shown there are a total of 12 axially acting grinding tools staggered. It can be useful to have tools in throughput length with different levels of fineness.
- the attachment on the system side can be fixed or for the optimization of the grinding pressure spring or pressure controlled.
- a stepless is preferably used for the drive to use speed-controlled, directly attached standard motor. With multiple arrangement like in Figure 15, the tool carriers are usually via belts or timing belts driven.
- a method according to the invention for machining a workpiece with The following steps follow at least one face and one edge.
- the workpiece undergoes a linear movement along the axially acting tool.
- This Tool is set in rotation, whereby the inner and outer rotating body rotate about an axis that coincides with the longitudinal axis of the drive. It takes place cross grinding of the surface of the workpiece and edge grinding at the same time along the edge of the workpiece instead.
- This process can be further improved by using a belt grinding step upstream to prepare the workpiece. After the cross grinding and the Edge grinding ideally follows a radial grinding step.
- abrasive fleece or abrasive tape strips vary.
- An intermediate layer strip with an individually adapted thickness is preferably Hardness and height wound in parallel to adapt the grinding effect to the need.

- the outer area can be one Have diameters between 200mm and 2500mm.
- the tools according to the present invention are for wet grinding and dry grinding.
- a suitable electronic control allows one grinding appropriate to the material.
- One type of effect of the tools described is the surface grinding with cross grinding effect, e.g. for the removal of hair from wood-based materials on previously longitudinally sanded Surfaces.
- the cross-cut effect occurs when there is a relative forward movement between the material to be ground and the tool.
- Another mode of action is the grinding of rounded edges (see workpiece 120 in Figure 14) Moldings, profiles, window parts, table tops, doors etc.
- the tool according to the present invention can either, as previously described, constructed in such a way that it can be re-equipped, or one can Insert prefabricated tool carriers, which are disposed of after use. So can for example the inner area and / or the outer area made of tool carriers exist that are firmly equipped with the necessary abrasive (s).
- the inner area can, for example, be cast in plastic. In this case, the abrasive is not interchangeable.
