Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a bulb including a base to which a filament, intended to emit light radiation, having windings arranged spiraling around an axis of revolution.
Or la
Such a bulb is sold by the applicant under the reference PL10044067. In this bulb, the filament is held in position by means of a single metal support, one end of which is secured to the base and the other end of which has a closed hook surrounding one of the windings of the filament, the two ends of the support being connected by a rod.
The known bulb is configured so that, when the bulb is in its normal operating conditions, the support rod is located below the filament. However, the Applicant has observed that the filament, when it is traversed by a current, tends to deform mechanically by developing a curvature moving down the ends of the filament on either side of the hook holding said filament in position.
Thus, several windings can come into contact with the support rod, thus creating a short circuit which can be destructive for the support and the filament itself.
The object of the present invention is to prevent any risk of short circuit linked to a deformation of the filament, by proposing a bulb in which the extent of the deformation of the filament is limited.
Indeed, according to the invention, a bulb in accordance with the introductory paragraph includes furthermore a plurality of supports, each having one end connected to the base and another end provided with a hook in contact with one of the filament windings.
The multiplicity of supports provided by the invention allows better maintenance in position of the filament and prevents the simultaneous contacting of several of its windings with the same support.
In one of the embodiments of the invention, the hooks are all located in a same side of the axis of revolution of the filament.
Such an embodiment simplifies the manufacture of the supports, which can be thus constituted by a single rod provided with a plurality of hooks. The realization of the connection between the supports and the base will also be simplified.
In a particular embodiment of the bulb according to the invention, the supports are intended to be located above the filament when the bulb is in its normal operating conditions, the hooks of the supports being open hooks.
The fact that the hooks are open considerably simplifies the manufacture of the bulb. Indeed, when the hooks are closed, the filament must be somehow screwed into the hook openings, which takes a considerable amount of time, which has repercussions on the manufacturing costs of the bulb. The use of open hooks simply requires to put the windings on the hooks and therefore reduces the manufacturing costs of bulb
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, one end of the filament being integral with the base, the other end of the filament is connected to said base via a frame formed by a rod located outside a plane defined by the axis of revolution and points of contact between the hooks and the filament.
This embodiment of the frame ensures that it is outside of a trajectory that would follow, under the effect of the mechanical deformation observed for the known bulb, the filament windings if these were not kept in position. A such a choice therefore prevents any risk of short circuit between the filament and the armature.
- FIG. 1 is a diagram describing a known bulb, and
- Figure 2 is a diagram describing a bulb according to a preferred embodiment of the invention.
This bulb includes an SO plug and a TUB tube made of a transparent material, for example glass. This tube encloses a FIL filament, intended to emit light radiation, having windings arranged in a spiral around an axis of revolution AX. One end of this FIL filament is linked to a BA base, the other end being connected to said base via an ARM armature, materialized by a metal rod placed above the FIL filament. The FIL filament and the ARM armature thus form a current circuit connected to the SO plug.
In the known bulb, the FIL filament is held in position by means of a single metal support SUP, one end of which is integral with the base BA and the other end of which has a closed hook CH surrounding one of the windings of the FIL filament. , the two ends of the SUP support being connected by a rod arranged below the FIL filament. The Applicant has observed that the FIL filament, when it is traversed by a current, tends to deform mechanically by developing a curvature moving down the ends of the FIL filament on either side of the hook holding said filament in position. . Thus, several windings can come into contact with the rod of the SUP support, then creating a short-circuit which can be destructive for the SUP support and the FIL filament itself.
ladite armature et des enroulements du filament FIL.FIG. 2 schematically represents a bulb according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, in a configuration corresponding to its normal operating conditions. The elements common to the known bulb are provided with identical references. In this embodiment of the invention, the filament FIL is held in position by means of three hooks H1, H2, H3, connected to the base BA via a rod.
The invention allows better retention of the FIL filament in position and prevents it from deforming down around the median hook H2.
In this particular embodiment of the invention, the hooks H1, H2, H3 are all located above the filament FIL, which makes it possible to use only one rod to connect said hooks to the base BA, and decreases still the risks of short-circuit linked to a possible deformation of the FIL filament, such a deformation taking place downwards.
Furthermore, the hooks H1, H2 and H3 are here open hooks, which considerably simplifies the manufacture of the bulb, since the filament can be placed on said hooks when it should be screwed into closed hooks.
Finally, in this embodiment of the invention, the ARM armature consists of a rod located outside a plane defined by the axis of revolution AX and contact points between the hooks H1, H2, H3 and the FIL filament. A possible deformation of the FIL filament can in principle only occur in the plane defined by the axis of revolution AX and said contact points, the particular positioning of the ARM armature eliminates any risk of contact between said armature and windings of the FIL filament.
