Abstract

According to the invention the labels (22) are produced in a broad woven fabric (21) comprising ground warp yarn (4) and ground weft yarn (5) for a ground woven fabric (11), embroidery weft yarn (12) which forms a figure and code weft yarn (10) which forms a barcode, said yarn being distinguishable from the ground warp yarn only in a light outside the visible spectrum. In the broad woven fabric (21) several labels (22) are produced whose longitudinal sides (1) adjoin each other in the weft direction and remain unfolded and whose lateral sides (2) are adjacent to each other in the warp direction and can be folded. The embroidery weft yarn (12) and the code weft yarn (10) extend parallel to each other and at a distance from the longitudinal sides (1) so that the backs of the labels (22) are evenly covered and thus uniformly transparent. The broad woven fabric (21) is cut along the lateral sides (2) into strips (25) each consisting of transverse labels (22) which are situated one behind the other in the warp direction. The labels (22) are then separated into individual labels by cuts along their longitudinal sides (1), which produces soft cutting edges (16) in the ground woven fabric (11) which do not irritate the skin.

Description

Process for producing labels with an invisible barcode on a weaving machine and a label produced by such a process.
Loom according to the preamble of claim 1 and a label produced by such a method.
A method of the type mentioned is known from EP-A-0 919 650, wherein in a band with a base fabric of base warp threads and base weft threads in the warp direction, successive, coherent labels are produced, each with a figure produced by embroidery weft threads and a barcode generated by code weft become. The labels each have a rectangular shape with two long sides and two narrow sides, the warp threads being parallel and the weft threads being transverse to the long sides of the label, and the bar codes are formed by code strips running in each weft direction.
In another known method, the labels are produced in a wide fabric, which contains a basic fabric produced from warp threads and a basic weft as well as embroidery wefts and code wefts carried over the entire width of the web, a repeat for each band is provided . The textile web is subsequently separated in the warp direction m bands having labels, the base fabric, the embroidery wefts and the code wefts being severed. If the wide fabric is woven from meltable yarns and a thermal cutting device is used to separate the strips, the known hard and rough enamel edges can be created by fusing the base fabric, the embroidery weft threads and the code weft threads on the long sides of the labels, which are comfortable to wear with one such a label provided clothing can affect. In order to achieve labels with edges that are as soft as possible, it is known to provide a fold on the long sides with the melting edges and on the narrow sides thereof.
It is considered disadvantageous that the warp threads of the base fabric, the number of which is fixed, run in the longitudinal direction of the labels, so that only labels of a certain quality can be produced, and that the labels have to be woven with larger dimensions as a preliminary product for folding. Folding the long sides with the melted edges formed by the fused base shots, embroidery shots and code shots leads to very thick and uncomfortable edges on the labels. If additional folds are provided on the narrow sides, each label in this area consists of four layers; this is unacceptable for the user and the wearer.
Wenn das Breitgewebe mittels einer mechanischen Schneideinrichtung getrennt wird, ist es bekannt, eineIf the wide fabric is separated by means of a mechanical cutting device, it is known to be a
To remove the number of longitudinal threads (warp threads) at the separation points by mechanical means, with a fringed edge being formed on the long sides of the labels e, for each of which an edge of base fabric is also provided is to be provided. Accordingly, the labels for folding as a preliminary product must be woven with larger dimensions. Furthermore, further longitudinal threads can come loose on the fringed edges, so that the label in question becomes unusable or unsightly.
The known methods for producing labels with warp threads running parallel to the long sides and weft threads running transversely to the long sides have the disadvantages that, because of the folding of the long sides, a greater effort is required for the gluing and that, due to the dimensions of the preliminary product, the weaving width of one Weaving machine is used only to a limited extent or there is greater waste. Another major disadvantage arises when producing such labels in a wide fabric, e.g. when weaving invisible barcodes more than one repeat or aisle in weft direction with individual code is required. The number of code strips (bars) differs according to the designation requirement, so that different lengths of the bar codes result in the warp direction. Since the goods take-off is stopped when the code weft thread and the embroidery weft thread are shot and the same amount is drawn for all aisles, it is only possible to produce individual bar codes if the quality and the production quantity are severely impaired.
Hier will die Erfindung Abhilfe schaffen. The invention seeks to remedy this. The invention has for its object to provide an improved method of the type mentioned for the production of labels, in which the disadvantages mentioned above do not occur.
Diese Aufgabe wird, auf der Grundlage des Verfahrens gemäss der die Priorität der vorliegenden Erfindung begründenden CH- Patentanmeldung Nr. 1999 1011/99, erfmdungsgemäss mit den kennzeichnenden Merkmalen desThis object is achieved on the basis of the method according to the priority of the present invention founding CH patent application No. 1999 1011/99, according to the invention with the characterizing features of
Anspruches 1 gelöst .Claim 1 solved.
Die mit der erfmdungsgemässen Verfahren erzielbaren Vorteile sind im Wesentlichen darin zu sehen, dassThe advantages that can be achieved with the method according to the invention can essentially be seen in the fact that
Dadurch, dass die Schussfäden parallel zu den Längsseiten der Etiketten verlaufen, wird über die gesamte Länge jedes Etiketts ein gleichmässigesLabels with different lengths and widths can be woven on the same type of weaving machine and that the unfolded long sides of the labels are made with soft and skin-friendly cut edges and thus the wearing comfort is significantly improved because the cut edges produced by the basic wefts have practically no brows. The foldable transverse sides of the labels cover the cutting edges of the strips that arise when the wide fabric is separated, which further improves the labels. The code weft threads can be entered with a weft density that can be selected within wide limits and the base fabric can be integrated to produce the invisible bar codes, the code strips running in m warp direction and m weft direction being formed in accordance with the desired code pattern by binding one or more of the warp threads. The fact that the weft threads run parallel to the long sides of the labels makes them uniform over the entire length of each label
Diagram achieved because the base weft threads as well as the embroidery weft threads and the code weft threads cover the back evenly.
Embodiments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims.
Thus, the labels can each be produced with long sides that run outside the area of the figure and the barcode and therefore only in the base fabric executed cuts are isolated, the long sides forming soft and at the same time dimensionally stable cut edges and the wearing comfort of the labels is further improved. Up to a weaving width of approx. 115 cm, labels can be woven with a weave repeat in the wide weave, so that there is little waste. The weft density in the base fabric can be selected so that labels with simulated weaves such as taffeta, half-satin and satin are produced on the same weaving machine. The embroidery weft threads and the code weft threads can be removed in the edge region of the strips, so that the end folds advantageously become thin.

As usual, the label 22 has a square shape with two unfolded long sides 1 and two foldable transverse sides 2, which are shown as narrow sides. The label 22 consists of a base fabric 11 produced from base warp threads 4 and base weft threads 5 and a plurality of embroidery weft threads 12, which produce a figure in an area 13 of the label, and a plurality of code weft threads 10, which in area 13 contain a code pattern in the form of a When viewed in visible light, generate "invisible" barcodes which are formed by code strips 23 which run in the warp direction and follow one another in the weft direction.
The label 22 is woven in such a way that the base warp threads 4 run transversely and the base weft threads 5 run parallel to the long sides 1 of the label 22, an edge 14 made of base fabric 11 being present on the long sides 1 and the embroidery wefts and code wefts on the back of label 22 are tied floating. The code weft threads 10 are designed or treated in such a way that when viewed in visible light they are essentially optically identical to the base weft threads 5 and can be distinguished from them in the light of electromagnetic radiation or fluorescent radiation effective outside the visible range. In the embodiment shown, the transverse sides 2 of the label 22 cut by a thermal cutting device each have a cutting edge on which the base fabric 11 and the embroidery weft threads 12 and code weft threads 10 floating on the back of the label are fused together and a melting edge 15 is formed. The label 22 can be folded on the transverse sides 2 in order to cover the melting edge 15. The longitudinal sides 1 of the label 22 cut by a cutting device run through the base fabric 11 and each have a cutting edge 16 which, as already mentioned, is advantageously soft and skin-friendly.
Wie dieReference is made to FIGS. 6 and 7. As the
Das6 a shows, the label 22 consists of a base fabric 11 and a plurality of embroidery weft threads 12 and code weft threads 10 which generate a figure or a bar code in the area 13 of the label 22 and which are tied floating on the back of the label. The
FIG. 7 a shows a corresponding label, in which the floating embroidery threads 12 and code weft threads 10 on the back are removed in the area of the transverse sides 2, so that each section 18 of the base fabric 11 is exposed. These sections 18 are folded in accordance with FIG. 7b, so that a very thin label is achieved. The process for producing labels is described below. As shown in FIG. 8, to produce the labels in a first step, wide fabric 21 is produced from fusible thread material, which has a number of labels 22 lying next to one another and is continuously woven after a repeat that extends across the weaving width. It is understood that, seen across the repeat width, each label can be made differently. The wide fabric 21 is woven using the basic warp thread 4 and basic weft thread 5 for the base fabric 11 and with several embroidery thread 12 for the figure and several code weft thread 10 for a bar code (FIG. 5), the embroidery weft and the code weft in an area 13 of each label be woven. In a second step, the wide fabric 21 m is separated by a set of strips 25 which contain labels 22 which are successive and transverse in the longitudinal direction of the strips. A thermal cutting device 26 is provided for the separation, which is either arranged on the weaving machine or a separate one
Facility is. If the wide fabric 21 m strip 25 is dismantled, the strips 25 are wound up for further processing. If the wide fabric 21 is not broken down into strips, the wide fabric 21 is wound onto a fabric tree (not shown). The strips 25 are em pre-product with regard to the labels.
In a third step, the strips 25 m of a folding device can be folded along their side edges formed by the melting edges 15, the lengths of the labels 22 being determined and the transverse sides 2 of the labels being formed. The folded section is fixed simultaneously with the folding, known methods being used. The folded strips 25 are separated by means of mechanical, thermal or ultrasound devices 27 such that the Labels 22 are separated, with the width of the respective label 22 being determined at the same time and the cut edges 16 running through the base fabric 11.
FIG. 9 shows the use of a label 22. The label 22 is sewn with the folded transverse sides 2 onto an item of clothing, so that the melting edges 15 lie below the label 22 and the longitudinal sides 1 with the soft edges are exposed.
