Abfragemodus kann automatisiert sein, wobei beispielsweise Informationen
über die nächsten drei Fahrzeuge übermittelt werden. Die Information kann
dabei sowohl die fahrplanmäßige Ankunfts- beziehungsweise Abfahrtszeit,
als auch die tatsächlich zu erwartende Ankunfts- beziehungsweise
Abfahrtszeit umfassen. Der Informations-Service ermöglicht dem
potentiellen Fahrgast, sich einerseits ohne Fahrplankenntnisse individuell
auf liniengebundene Fahrzeuge einzustellen und andererseits bei Kenntnis
des Fahrplans Abfahrtszeitverzögerungen oder -Veränderungen zu
berücksichtigen. Die Nutzungshäufigkeit liniengebundener Fahrzeuge kann
auf diese Weise nachhaltig gesteigert werden. Berufspendler mit
unregelmäßiger Arbeitszeit beziehungsweise mit dem Wunsch, die Wartezeit
an der Haltestelle soweit wie möglich zu minimieren, sowie auch
gelegentliche Benutzer liniengebundener Fahrzeuge werden durch den
neuen Service zur Benutzung öffentlicher Verkehrsmittel anstelle des

Erkennungsmitteln, Abfragemitteln und Ausgabemitteln ausgestattet. Der
Abfragemodus ist dabei vorzugsweise nach Art eines Anrufbeantworters
automatisiert. Der Anfrager stellt eine Verbindung zu einer Zentrale mit DFI-Bereitstellung
her. Daraufhin bekommt er eine Liste der Linien zur Auswahl.
Er wählt eine Linie aus und bekommt eine Liste der Haltestellen mit
Richtungsangaben zur Auswahl. Er wählt eine Haltestelle aus und erhält die
Abfahrtszeiten, beispielsweise die fahrplanmäßige Abfahrtszeit und die
aktuelle Fahrplanabweichung der nächsten drei Fahrzeuge dieser Linie.

tatsächlich zu erwartenden Abfahrtszeiten zu versorgen. Die Abfahrtszeiten
berechnet das RBL 2 aus der momentanen Position eines Fahrzeugs und
dem Abstand zur Haltestelle, wobei die momentane Fahrzeugposition
vorzugsweise satellitengestüzt ermittelt und durch das Fahrzeug via
Datenfunk an die Zentrale 1 übermittelt wird. Da die DFI-Daten nicht nur
an den Haltestellen von Interesse für Fahrgäste sind, ist vorgesehen, daß
ein Interessent zu jeder Zeit und an jedem beliebigen Ort über ein
Kommunikationssystem 6 Zugriff auf diese Daten hat. Das
Kommunikationssystem 6 kann ein normales Telefon, ein Funk-Telefon
oder auch eine Internet-Applikation sein. Dementsprechend wird eine
bidirektionale Verbindung 7 via Festnetz oder GSM aufgebaut. Ein
Informations-Modul 8 des DFI-Systesm 3 fragt dann in einem
automatisierten Modus sukzessive nach der interessierenden Linie, der
Haltestelle und der Fahrtrichtung. Nachdem die Anfrage soweit eingegrenzt
ist, sucht das Informations-Modul 8 die entsprechenden Daten aus dem
aktuellen Datenbestand des DFI-Systems 3 heraus und übermittelt diese
über die Verbindung 7 an das Kommunikationssystem 6 des Anfragers.
Vorteilhaft bei dieser Abfragemethode ist neben der Anwenderfreundlichkeit
vor allem die Möglichkeit, den Interessenten auch über aktuelle
Abfahrtszeiten an Haltestellen zu informieren, für die an sich keine
Haltestellen-Anzeigetafel 5, das heißt keine aktualisierte Fahrzeiten-Information
vorgesehen ist. Der zusätzliche Aufwand dafür dürfte sehr
gering sein, da die erforderlichen Grunddaten dem RBL 2 ohnehin zur
Verfügung stehen und nur die nach bekanntem Algorithmus erforderliche
Berechnung der voraussichtlichen Abfahrtszeiten an diesen Haltestellen
