Definitions

  • the invention relates to a compact low-pressure discharge lamp consisting of a discharge vessel with electrodes and power supplies and a base composed of a cap, housing and mounting plate with ballast arrangement, the mounting plate with the ballast arrangement being fitted inside the base housing and having connections for the electrical connection of the power leads to the mounting plate and the power supply means. a spring element can be pressed against the electrical connections of the mounting plate.
  • the discharge vessel usually consists of a tube bent one or more times, which is arranged in a base.
  • a mounting plate designed as a circuit board with an electronic ballast assembly soldered to it is integrated in the base.
  • the manufacturing costs for these compact low-pressure discharge lamps are relatively high, since many complicated manufacturing steps are necessary in the manufacture.
  • One of these manufacturing steps is the electrical connection of the power supply lines of the discharge vessel to the corresponding connections of the ballast arrangements. To make this connection, the corresponding connecting wires have so far been brought together and crimped, for example, with a metal sleeve.
  • the known low-pressure discharge lamp has a discharge vessel with electrodes and current leads and a cap, Housing and mounting plate with ballast assembly assembled base.
  • the mounting plate is attached with the ballast arrangement inside the base housing. It also has connections for the electrical connection of the power supply lines to the mounting plate, the power supply lines being pressed against the electrical connections of the mounting plate designed as separate contact pins by means of a spring element arranged in the housing on the mounting plate.
  • EP-A-0 452 743 discloses a low-pressure discharge lamp which has holding pins with the aid of which the ends of the current leads are aligned perpendicular to the bow-shaped connecting wires of the ballast arrangement.
  • the respective wires to be contacted are arranged approximately at right angles one behind the other and are pressed resiliently against one another with the aid of the retaining pin and the inner wall of the base housing, so that an electrical connection is established between the electrodes of the discharge vessel of the ballast arrangement.
  • a disadvantage of the prior art described is that such electrical connection systems are very complex. This increases the manufacturing costs.
  • the production speed for such low-pressure discharge lamps is not very high.
  • the current leads of a discharge vessel are connected to the electrical connections of a mounting plate with a ballast arrangement via a respective spring element which presses the current supply against the connection.
  • the spring element is arranged in a cap of the low-pressure discharge lamp, the cap having at least one spring receptacle for receiving and releasably fastening the spring element.
  • the spring element Before the base is assembled, the spring element is advantageously accommodated in a spring receptacle formed on the inner circumference of the cap.
  • the spring receptacle has a cavity for receiving at least a part of the spring element and is usually rectangular in cross section.
  • a shoulder for supporting a region of the spring element is formed in the cavity of the spring receptacle.
  • a gap is formed between the inner circumference of the housing and the outer circumference of the cap for receiving one end of the power supply.
  • the mounting plate is fastened in the interior of the housing perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the lamp.
  • the mounting plate lies on ribs formed on the inner circumference of the housing and running parallel to the longitudinal axis of the lamp.
  • the mounting plate is advantageously designed as a circuit board, with conductor tracks being formed on the side facing the discharge vessel and circuit elements of the ballast arrangement being formed on the side facing away from the discharge vessel.
  • At least one connection for making electrical contact with the power supply to the mounting plate is designed as a soldering eye.
  • at least one connection for electrically contacting the power supply with the mounting plate consists of one or more flat soldering areas and / or strips. This simple and space-saving structure of the lamp base ensures that it can be kept small overall and is also inexpensive to manufacture.
  • Positioning devices are advantageously designed to position the cap and the housing of the base in the correct position. Further details, features, configurations and advantages result from the following description of a number of exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention which are shown in the drawing:
  • FIG. 1 shows a schematically illustrated sectional view of a compact low-pressure discharge lamp 10 or a partial area of the edge area of the base 12.
  • the lamp 10 comprises a discharge vessel 14 and a base 12, the base 12 being composed of a cap 16 and a housing 18.
  • the base 12 is essentially cylindrical.
  • the cap 16 and the housing 18 are detachably connected to one another, at least one positioning device 48 being designed for connecting the cap 16 and the housing 18 in the correct position.
  • the cap 16 has in the end facing the housing 18 an annular bead 20 in its outer periphery.
  • the bead 20 and an annular groove 22 in the inner circumference of the housing 18 form a gap 34 for receiving an end 32 of a power supply 30.
  • a mounting plate 24 is fastened perpendicular to the lamp axis.
  • the mounting plate 24 is designed as a circuit board, with conductor tracks (not shown) being formed on the side facing the discharge vessel 14 and circuit elements on the side facing away from the discharge vessel 14.
  • the discharge vessel 14 usually consists of two or three U-shaped pipe sections which are connected to one another by a passage (not shown), the end legs each carrying electrodes.
  • the free ends of the pipe sections are sealed gas-tight by squeezing and are located within the cap 16 of the base 12.
  • the power supply lines 30 emerge from the discharge vessel 14.
  • Such a lamp is described on page 1.
  • the power supply lines 30 are pressed against the electrical connections 26 of the mounting plate 24 by means of a spring element 28.
  • the spring element 28 here engages in a spring receptacle 40 formed in the region of the inner circumference of the cap 16 and is detachably fastened therein in the exemplary embodiment shown.
  • the spring receptacle 40 consists of side walls 41, 43 which surround a cavity 42.
  • the cavity 42 serves to receive part of the spring element 28 and is rectangular in cross section (FIG. 2).
