Definitions
- This invention relates to a brain-twister consisting of flat elements movable to each other and arranged as an envelope on a ball-shaped inner construction.
- These brain-twisters are constructed as a group of movable elements and on basis of the possibility to change their mutual position. These elements are usual painted with various colours or their surfaces or segments of a picture are printed on them and the task of the player is to create a geometrical shape or put together a picture by displacement of these elements. These elements can be displaced either individually or in raws or groups.
- a typical example of a brain-twister of this art is a flat toy created by a frame in which square flat elements are placed but in the frame there is a free square place to enable displacement of one of those elements or of a whole raw of elements. But this is only a simple toy for small children which can not attract the older ones or even adults.
- a more complicated brain-twister is the so called "Rubic's cube" which was extremely popular in the early eightees. It was a brain-twister of a new generation.
- 27 colour small cubes is arranged in 3 walls made of 3 x 3 cubes. Each of these three walls represent a group of 9 cubes and this group can by twisted in two perpendicular planes.
- the Rubic's cube has a disadvatageous angular shape and the construction of it is relatively complicated.
- a toy in the shape of a ball is known.
- the aim of the invention is to present a brain-twister with an agreeable spaced shape without sharp edges sufficiently complicated to attract elderly children and adults with the possibility to create pictures or images what can not be achieved in an embodiment with the cube.
- each orbital element is in its stable position held by three central flat elements and during its movement around any central flat element is held by at least the central flat element of the starting chain and by the central element of one of the adjacent chains the element is directed to.
- the central flat elements have smaller real or imaginary diameter than the orbital flat elements.
- Figure 1 illustrates a view on the planary spread ball-shaped envelope created by circular flat elements according to one embodiment of the brain-twister according to the invention
- Figure 2 shows another embodiment of the brain-twister according to the invention but the flat elements are of pentagonal respective hexagonal shape in an arrangement typical for a soccer ball.
- the brain-twister 1 in the prefered embodiment has a ball-shape but due to the better possibility of illustration of the principle
- Figure 1 illustrates a view on the planary spread ball-shaped envelope created by circular flat elements 3,4.
- the envelope is covering a ball-shaped inner construction, which is not illustrated, and it is created by groups 2 of flat elements 3,4.
- These groups 2 consist always of six mutually separated and to each other in the scope of 360° movable flat elements 3,4, wherein one of the elements 3,4 in the group 2 is considered as a central flat element 3 and five orbital flat elements 4 are arranged symetrically around this central flat element 3. How many and what elements 3,4 belong to one group 2 of elements 3,4 is indicated by the closed intermitent loop.
- the central flat element 3 has in this embodiment a smaller diameter of about 20% than the orbital flat elements 4.
- the surfaces of all flat elements 3,4 are partly covering each other so the group 2 of the orbital flat elements 4 creates a compact loop around and with the central flat element 3.
- all the elements are of the same size and then every flat element 3,4 can represent in a certain moment a central or an orbital one.
- groups 2 of flat elements 3,4 which consist of at least three orbital flat elements 4 arranged symetrically around one central flat element 3 wherein all four flat elements 3,4 are movable to each other in the scope of 360°.
- at least one of the orbital flat elements 4 is a part of a adjacent group 2 of orbital flat elements 4.
- FIG. 2 An advantageous embodiment of the brain-twister 1 is shown in Figure 2.
- the central flat elements 3 are of a regular pentagonal shape and the orbital flat elements 4 of a regular hexagonal shape.
- the central pentagonal flat element 3 has also in this embodiment a smaller imaginary diameter of about 20% than the orbital hexagonal flat elements 4.
- the central flat element 3 can be mounted firmly on the ball-shaped inner construction and the orbital flat elements 4 are arranged movable around them.

Abstract
Description
Claims (2)
- Brain-twister consisting of movable elements and a ball-shaped inner construction, the movable elements being arranged in groups (2) of six mutually separate and mutually movable flat elements (3,4) in the scope of 360°, wherein one element of each group (2) creates a central flat element (3) and five orbital flat elements (4) are arranged symetrically around the central flat element (3), which is firmly mounted on the ball-shaped inner construction wherein at least one of these orbital flat elements (4) is a part of the same number of orbital flat elements (4) of an adjacent group (2) of flat elements (3,4) again with a stable central flat element (3), wherein all the groups (2) of flat elements (3,4) create an infinite and closed chain in all directions and the chains are arranged into a shape of a ball characterized in that each orbital element (4) is, in its stable position, held by three central flat elements (3) and during its movement around any one central flat element (3) is held by at least the central flat element (3) and by one other central element.
- Brain-twister according to the claim 1, characterized in that the central flat elements (3) have smaller real or imaginary diameter than the orbital flat elements (4).
