Definitions

  • the subject of the present invention is a support hydroelastic intended to be interposed between two sets to be suspended from each other, especially for the suspension of a powertrain or engine in a body of a motor vehicle.
  • Hydroelastic supports generally include a body formed by a mass of elastomeric material connecting an upper frame and a lower frame fixed respectively on the two elements and a chamber of work delimited by said mass of elastomeric material and by a transverse partition.
  • this type of support includes a chamber expansion delimited by the transverse partition and by a flexible lower membrane.
  • This expansion chamber is connected to the chamber working through a communication passage and these rooms are filled with liquid, such as antifreeze.
  • the expansion chamber is arranged laterally with respect to the working chamber and the flexible membrane partially blocking the expansion chamber is formed by an extension of the mass of elastomeric material from the body.
  • the upper frame of the body is made up by a tubular member of cylindrical section extending perpendicular to the main axis of the support and the assembly comprising the mass of elastomeric material and the two fittings as well as the working room and the room expansion is arranged inside a housing.
  • Such a type of hydroelastic support is complex and has important dimensions given its configuration and its manufacturing and assembly cost is high.
  • the object of the invention is to avoid these drawbacks by offering a compact hydroelastic support and simplified assembly and which efficiently ensures the different powertrain support functions, vibration filtering and limitation of travel.
  • the hydroelastic support shown on the Figs. 1 and 2 is adapted to be interposed between two sets to be suspended from each other and more particularly to be interposed between a powertrain and the rest of the structure or chassis of this vehicle.
  • the hydroelastic support comprises a body 10 formed by a mass of elastomeric material 11 which connects, on the one hand, an upper frame 12 of steel or aluminum and, on the other hand, a lower frame 13 of steel.
  • the upper frame 12 is formed by a member tubular extending perpendicular to the main axis XX of the support and comprising an axial bore 14 for the passage of a connecting member, not shown, with the element to be supported, such as the powertrain of a motor vehicle.
  • the tubular member 12 preferably has a section parallelepiped.
  • the lower frame 13 has a lower rim 15 folded outwards and an upper edge 16 fitted with fixing lugs 17 on the vehicle body, like for example a spar.
  • the body 10 is produced by overmolding and adhesion of the elastomer on the reinforcements 12 and 13.
  • the mass 11 of elastomeric material delimits at its lower part and partly a working chamber 20.
  • This working chamber 20 is also delimited by a transverse bulkhead designated as a whole by reference 21 and which consists of a first part 21a and a second part 21b, said parts 21a and 21b being symmetrical with respect to each other.
  • a valve 22 for hydraulic decoupling is interposed between the two parts 21a and 21b of the partition transverse 21 and the first part 21a is provided with a passage axial 23 allowing the valve 22 to receive pressure from the liquid induced in the working chamber 20.
  • the second part 21b of the partition transverse 21 has an axial passage 24.
  • the facing faces of the two parts 21a and 21b each have a groove which determines a conduit 25 of significant length in relation to its communicating diameter with the working chamber 20 through an orifice 26 formed in the first part 21a and with an expansion chamber 30 by an orifice 27 formed in the second part 21b of the transverse partition 21.
  • the expansion chamber 30 is delimited by a flexible lower membrane 31 of elastomer.
  • This flexible membrane 31 has a peripheral rim 32 which is adhered in an external reinforcement 33 provided at its upper part with a crimping rim 33a on the rim 15 of the lower frame 13 of the body 10.
  • the hydroelastic support also includes a housing 40 which covers the body 10 and which is fixed to the frame lower 17 by means of lugs 40a.
  • the housing 40 is formed by a stamped part made of steel or by a molded part of aluminum or alloy aluminum.
  • This case 40 shown more particularly at Fig. 3 has an upper face formed by a wall full 41 and four side faces of which two opposite form solid walls, respectively 42 and 43, and of which the other two opposite each have an opening, 44 and 45 respectively.
  • the end 12a the tubular member 12 opens into the opening 44 and the opposite end 12b of said tubular member 12 opens out in opening 45.
  • the opening 44 is formed by a window section complementary to the section of the end 12a of the tubular member 12 and this window has a section parallelepiped (Fig. 3).
  • the opening 45 extends over the entire case height 40.
  • the mass 11 of material body elastomer 10 has cooperating stop members with the walls of the housing 40 to ensure the recovery efforts in all directions of solicitation of the support, i.e. to filter the hash and buzzing, limit travel in attack and rebound and resume efforts under acceleration and braking.
  • the mass 11 of elastomeric material comprises a stop member 50 for resuming attack forces formed by a boss formed on the underside of the end 12a of the tubular member 12 opening into the window 44 and intended to cooperate with the lower edge 44a of said window.
  • This stop member 50 is adapted to come in contact with the flange 44a by limiting the displacement of the upper frame 12 towards the lower frame 13.
  • the mass 11 of elastomeric material also comprises an abutment member 51 for resuming the expansion efforts formed by a boss formed on the upper face of the organ tubular 12 and intended to cooperate with the upper wall 41 of the housing 40.
  • This stop member 51 is adapted to come in contact against the upper wall 41 by limiting the displacement of the upper reinforcement 12 away from to the lower frame 13.
  • the mass 11 of elastomeric material comprises also side stop members, respectively 52 and 53, formed by two bosses each arranged on a side face of the tubular member 12 and intended for cooperate with a side wall, respectively 42 and 43, case 40.
  • the stop members 50, 51, 52 and 53 can be made by a bi-injection process in a material elastomer different from that constituting mass 11 of body 10.
  • the stop members 52 and 53 are adapted to come contact with the walls 42 and 43 of the housing 40 when the upper frame 12 is moved in one direction substantially perpendicular to the axis XX of the hydroelastic support.
  • stop members 50, 51, 52 and 53 formed on the mass 11 of elastomeric material and cooperating with the corresponding walls of the housing 40 ensure resumption of efforts in all directions of support request.
  • the assembly of the hydroelastic support which can be performed automatically, semi-automatically or manually is carried out as follows.
  • the body 10 is placed on a support in a reverse position to that shown in Figs. 1 and 2.
  • the lower membrane 31 is positioned on the second part 21b of the transverse partition 21 and the edge 33a of the external frame 33 is crimped on the edge 15 of the lower frame 13 of the body 10, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2.
  • Chambers 20, 25 and 30 are filled with liquid either by immersion or by vacuum filling.
  • the housing 40 is fixed to the lower frame 13 of the body 10 and this case 40 covers only the upper part of said hydroelastic support.
  • the whole of the lower part of the body 10 on which the other components are fixed, i.e. the transverse partition 21 and the flexible membrane 31, are outside the housing 40 which allows mounting of these components independently of said housing 40.
  • the hydroelastic support according to the invention has the advantage of being compact and of a simplified design reducing the cost of the assembly as well as that of assembly.
  • the stop members distributed on the upper frame of the body cooperating with the walls of the housing ensure therefore the resumption of efforts in all directions stress on the support and due to the parallelepiped shape of this upper frame, the attacks said abutment members on the walls of this case are more frank.
  • the hydroelastic support according to the invention has also the advantage of not having any stop inside the mass of elastomer material body and avoids bringing back stop members on additional parts attached to the vehicle side member automobile.
