Definitions
- the present invention relates generally automotive headlights, and more particularly an improvement to a projector having a light cover in front of the lamp direct.
- a projector conventionally comprises a closed housing at the front by a window and sheltering a mirror at the bottom from which a lamp is mounted.
- a light cover direct is generally made of sheet metal, and its shape is designed according to the above purpose defined.
- the cover is generally neutral in color, for gray example, in order to be as noticeable as possible when the projector is turned off.
- the aesthetic result obtained is generally satisfactory when the projector glass is strongly streaked, these streaks helping to make the cache of little visible direct light when the projector is off.
- the high temperature prevailing in the interior space of the projector in the vicinity of the lamp constitutes an important constraint in the design of occultants, particularly in terms of choice of materials, shapes and dimensions.
- the hubcap is placed on direct light cover in such a way that the air circulation intended for cooling cannot not be done properly. Indeed, the passage of air cooling is narrow and winding. In addition, the external element of this anticipation necessarily goes present a hot spot in its overhanging region of the internal element.
- the main object of the present invention is, in a projector of this type, to ensure an air flow of satisfactory cooling, without compromising or aesthetics, nor optical behavior, and without creating hot spots.
- Another object of the present invention is to offer a projector whose appearance is improved while having great design flexibility the concealer, that is to say by minimizing the constraints related to the high temperature, and in particular by being use a wide range of materials not specifically designed for high temperatures.
- Yet another object of the invention is to provide a projector in which you can easily play on the aesthetic appearance of the switched off projector, and in particular of allow easy adaptation of the same projector to various ranges or colors of vehicles.
- the present invention relates to a floodlight motor vehicle having the characteristics exhibited in claim 1.
- the lamp of the projector by 30 its mirror and by 40 its front glass. It also includes, in a conventional manner, a housing closed by ice. It is furthermore provided, in a known manner in itself, a direct light cover made for example in metal sheet.
- This cover includes a front part 50 constituting the cover itself, which is mounted on a projector mirror using one or more lugs holding 52, so as to place the part 50 in front a projector lamp to prevent light either emitted directly from the lamp to the glass from the projector and outwards.
- the lug 52 can be fixed on the lamp holder 22 of the projector.
- the edge of the cover has preferably a profile such that it obscures enough precisely all the light rays which are not directed to the optically useful parts of the mirror, that is to say the rays directed in particular towards the cheeks from the mirror and towards the mirror.
- this cover 50 is as discreet as possible inside the projector when it is off, we usually give it a size as small as possible and a neutral shade, for example gray.
- a part 60 forming a hubcap intended for change the aesthetic appearance of the projector when it is off, this modification being all the more sensitive than the front glass of the projector, through which the part 60 is seen, is slightly deviating, even smooth.
- the hubcap 60 is preferably produced under the shape of a hollow and light body, in painted, enamelled sheet or metallized (especially chromed), or in the form of a hollow or solid body of plastic material such than a thermosetting material.
- the shaping of the hubcap can be carried out in particular by stamping or bending.
- the hubcap 60 can be mounted either on the cover direct light, by suitable mounting means such as that snap-in means, either, as shown in the Figure 2, providing at least one retaining tab 62 extending to the rear of the projector (to the left on the figure), and fixed at its rear end on the lamp holder 22.
- suitable mounting means such as that snap-in means, either, as shown in the Figure 2, providing at least one retaining tab 62 extending to the rear of the projector (to the left on the figure), and fixed at its rear end on the lamp holder 22.
- the tab of fixing 62 has a profile giving it a certain rigidity, and in particular a generally flat profile provided centrally from a winding part.
- the present invention it is possible to manufacture simply a projector having, in particular according to wishes of the car manufacturer, different aspects aesthetic.
- the means of mounting the hubcap on the cover or on the bulb holder are identical regardless of the hubcap model used.
- hubcaps 60 of general polyhedral shape, with a point directed towards the front, or even curved as illustrated in Figures 1 and 2, or generally hemispherical.
- the color of the trim can for example match that of the bodywork in the vicinity of the vehicle.
- the mounting of the cache and the concealer are such that there are between the cover and the concealer an air passage path (arrow F1 in FIG. 2), and in particular an uphill path circulation of hot air by convection, intended for avoid excessive heat from the lamp accumulates in the area of the cover and the hubcap.
- these legs delimit two by two of the spaces constituting the air passage.
- At least one arrangement allowing the passage of a rising air flow between the cover and the concealer.
- the cache 50 can in some cases have a full front wall (mark 51 in Figure 2), either have a front wall openwork, or still not have a front wall. In the latter two cases, it is the hubcap 60 which completely blocks the light emitted towards the front and in addition, we define a space ventilation path inside of the cover 50 towards the gap which separates the cover of the hubcap (arrow F2 in Figure 2).
