Definitions
- the invention relates to a shoe retention element on a ski.
- the invention relates to a front retaining element which is designed to releasably retain the front of a shoe.
- a such element has a jaw which is movable against the restoring force that it opposes an elastic return means, for example a spring.
- the invention relates to those whose trigger is asymmetrical, that is to say that releases the shoe more easily on one side than on the other.
- a skier's leg is capable endure higher twists for rotation from the forefoot to the outside only for an inward rotation, that is to say towards the other foot. It is so it appeared interesting to make retaining elements which take into account account for this asymmetry.
- Patent applications published under the numbers FR 1 503 849, FR 1 503 847 describe such elements which release the shoe in a way asymmetric.
- An object of the invention is to improve this type of retaining element by making its asymmetrical functioning by simple modifications of its construction.
- the retaining element comprises a central pivot, a jaw and a one-piece body pivotally mounted around the pivot and supported by at least one pivot line, a return spring housed in the body and leaning against the pivot to recall the body in a position centered. It is characterized by the fact that an asymmetrical connecting element is placed at the connection between the body, the pivot and the spring.
- Figure 1 shows in side view and in section a retaining element traditional of the type to which the invention applies.
- FIG. 2 is a top view in section of the element of FIG. 1.
- Figure 3 shows in perspective the base and the pivot of the element of the figure 1.
- Figure 4 is a top view in partial section of a retaining element according to a first embodiment of the invention.
- Figure 5 is a top view in section of a pivot with its base according to another embodiment of the invention.
- Figure 6 is a sectional side view of the pivot and the base of Figure 5 according to an alternative embodiment.
- FIG. 7 represents in perspective the added tab of FIG. 6.
- Figure 8 shows a support counterpiece according to another mode of setting of the invention.
- FIG. 9 represents a front view of the counterpiece of FIG. 8.
- Figure 10 is a side view in partial section of a retainer according to another embodiment of the invention.
- Figure 11 shows the connection between the pivot and the key of Figure 10.
- Figure 12 relates to another embodiment of the invention.
- Figure 13 shows in perspective the energy subset of the figure 12.
- Figures 1 and 2 show a known front retaining element for the main part of the French patent application published under the number FR 2 537 442.
- This element comprises a base 1 intended to be secured to the ski, by any suitable means, for example by screws.
- the base is extended towards the rear by a support plate 2 intended to support the end of a shoe sole.
- the base 1 is surmounted by a pivot 3.
- the base of the pivot presents towards the rear, that is to say on the side of the shoe, two support zones 4 and 5 shaped as vertical grooves which are located on either side of a longitudinal plane and vertical median defined by the ski.
- a screw 6 is screwed to the top of the pivot.
- the screw is vertical and it is located in the median plane mentioned above.
- the opinion has at its head an annular groove 8 whose height relative to the underside of the base varies according to the screwing of the screw in its housing.
- the pivot has an approximately flat bearing face 9 which extends transversely to the median plane, over substantially the entire height of the pivot, and over a width slightly greater than the distance separating the two zones support.
- the retaining element also comprises a retaining jaw 10 the shoe.
- the jaw extends forwards by a body 11, and forms with the body a one-piece assembly.
- the body 11 is suspended by its upper part from the screw head 6, at the level of the annular groove 8.
- the body Towards the bottom, the body has two support zones 14 and 15, shaped as vertical ribs. These raised support zones are designed to cooperate with the recessed areas 4 and 5 of the pivot.
- a spring 13 is housed in a housing 16 of the body. Housing is closed on the front by a threaded plug 17, and towards the rear, the housing opens out look of the support face 9. The spring is supported against this face by by means of a piston 18 fitted into a supporting counter-piece 19.
- the spring 15 recalls the body and the jaw in a position aligned with the vertical median plane.
- the jaw and the body can pivot laterally around one or the other of the two support lines converging formed by the screw head, and the two coupled support zones 4 and 14 or 5 and 15.
- the force that the shoe must overcome to cause the jaw to rotate is determined by screwing the plug 17.
- the height of the body and the jaw is adjustable by screw 6.
- FIG. 4 illustrates a first embodiment of the invention.
- one of the pairs of support zones between the body and the pivot is closer to the median vertical plane passing through the screw than the other pair of support zones.
- the median vertical plane is shown schematically at 20, and the support zones 23 and 25, respectively of the pivot and of the body are closer to the plane 20 and the screw 21 as the other pair of support zones 22, 24.
- FIG. 5 represents another embodiment of the invention.
- the bearing face 29 of the pivot 28 is chamfered on a edge marked at 30.
- the chamfer 30 does not cross the median plane, and the supporting counter-piece comes to bear against the chamfer only after a angular offset of the body from its centered position, so that the position centered remains a stable equilibrium position of the jaw.
- the counterpart 19 of the body indeed rests on the middle portion of the face 29 which is planar and perpendicular to the median longitudinal plane.
- Figure 6 illustrates an alternative embodiment.
- the face support 31 of pivot 32 with its chamfer 33 is carried by a tongue 34 attached to the front of the pivot.
- the tongue is engaged from below through an opening found in the base 35, at the foot of the pivot 32.
- Any suitable means for example complementary vertical grooves can be used to ensure plating and holding the tongue against the rear face of the pivot.
- This variant advantageously makes it possible to be able to produce two elements of asymmetrical restraint of a pair of elements by means of a large number of identical parts, and a reduced number of asymmetrical parts, in this case two tongues 34 having opposite chamfers.
- these tabs which define the polarization of the elements can be reported in end of assembly process of retaining elements.
- Figures 8 and 9 relate to another embodiment of the invention relating to the supporting counter-piece 36.
- This counter-piece is provided to be attached to the end of the piston. It usually presents two lateral chamfers 37 and 38, and a central surface 39 of overall shape triangular with the tip facing down.
- one edges delimiting one of the chamfers in this case the edge 40 of the chamfer 37, and the central surface 39, is closer to the median vertical plane of the counterpiece than the other edge.
- Figures 10 and 11 illustrate another embodiment of the invention.
- the spring 45 is connected to the pivot 46 by by means of a rocker 47 articulated around an upper axis 44 carried by the body.
- the rocker carries a projecting transverse key 48 which can oscillate in a rounded housing.
- Key 48 is pressed against the face front 49 of pivot 46.
- the front face 49 of pivot is slightly in relief with two support edges 50 and 51 against which the door key. The oscillation of the key ensures good support against one or the other of the support edges during the rotation of the body.
- the bearing face of the key has on one side from its vertical median plane a clearance 53 whose clearance thickness increases from the edge of the key towards the central part.
- the position and dimensions of the clearance 53 are provided so that the facing edge 50 is in outside the clearance when the body and jaw are in the centered position, and that this edge does not travel through the clearance 50 only after a separation from the body by relative to its centered position.
- the spring offers less resistance, that is to say that increases less quickly, to the rotation of the body for a direction of rotation where the edge 50 comes to bear against edge 50.
- edges 50 and 51 asymmetrically on the front face of the pivot, by example using an attachment as in the case of Figures 6 and 7.
- FIGS 12 and 13 illustrate another variant.
- This variant implements a pivot 55, of the same type as the previous pivot, with support edges 56 and 57.
- the spring 58 is here in abutment against the edges 56 and 57 by means of a piston 60 which is slidably mounted in the threaded plug 61.
- the bearing face 62 of the piston 60 has a clearance 63 which is intended to serve as a support for the edge 56 for rotation of the body in a certain sense. For such a rotation, the return force of the spring 58 increases more slowly for a rotation in this direction.
- the plug 61, the spring 58 and the piston 60 form a cartridge which is attached to the rest of the retainer as a sub-assembly.
- the piston laterally has a guide mark and projecting polarization which is intended to cooperate with a complementary member from the body.
- This reference is illustrated at 65 in the figures. It is planned to cooperate with a groove on the wall of the housing. It allows both to stall angularly the piston so that the engagement is correctly oriented, and guide the piston during compression of the spring.
- the housing of the body is equipped with two grooves arranged to orient the piston in two different ways, depending on whether the clearance 63 is provided to cooperate with the edge 56 or the other edge 57.
- the number of parts asymmetrical of a pair of retaining elements is here very reduced.
- the retaining elements are fitted with any appropriate means of in order to make visible the nature of their asymmetry, that is to say in order to identify a right retainer and left retainer of a pair.
- the invention also applies to retaining elements, which have a simple pivot formed by a vertical cylindrical rod having on the front a support surface for the piston.
