Description

The invention relates to a fragmentary projectile with a ground igniter and propellant charge case according to the preamble of claim 1. It is a ballistic projectile.

Die Länge des Bodenzünders, die im Splittermantel liegt, entspricht etwa der Länge der Sprengladung innerhalb des Splittermantels.EP 0 365 886 A1 and GB 11 77 813 disclose a fragmentary projectile with a base igniter that can be connected to a propellant charge sleeve. The length of the base igniter, which lies in the splinter jacket, corresponds approximately to the length of the explosive charge within the splinter jacket.

In a wing-stabilized artillery projectile according to DE-PS 89 235, an explosive charge and a detonator are arranged in a rear-side recess. The detonator is short and is based on the principle of a revolver cartridge, which is no longer permitted due to the safety regulations. Because of the short construction detonator, the length of the explosive in relation to the detonator is very long.

In the case of a penetration projectile according to US Pat. No. 1,235, the length of the base igniter within the splinter jacket is approximately 60% with respect to the length of the explosive.

In an artillery projectile according to DE-PS 21 172, a short base igniter is provided, which for the most part lies within the splinter jacket.

In the case of an artillery fragmentary projectile according to US Pat. No. 4,882,996, a ground detonator requires only a fraction of the length of the fragmentation shell provided for the explosive charge. The main part of the detonator is outside the splinter jacket. In artillery shells, the propellant charge is known to be separate from the artillery shell, i.e. the charges are fed to the gun separately from the artillery shell. A propellant charge case is therefore not used. This means that there is enough space for a detonator in the gun in the rear area of the projectile, depending on the circumstances.

In the case of cartridge bullets, that is to say bullets with propellant charge sleeves arranged thereon, only a small volume is available for the detonator due to the circumstances of the propellant charge sleeve.

The invention has for its object to provide a fragmentary projectile with propellant charge sleeve, which has an improved effect in the target.

This object is achieved in accordance with the characterizing features of claim 1.

Advantageous developments of the invention can be found in the subclaims.

The inventive design of the fragmentation projectile with a projectile detonator extended beyond the rear end of the fragmentation jacket results in three different possibilities for optimizing the projectile performance, and bar improvement in the penetration performance by increasing the mass of the projectile head, optimizing the effective fragmentation by increasing the wall thickness of the fragmentation sleeve while maintaining the usual explosive content or increase in the explosive content while maintaining the usual thicknesses of the projectile tip and wall of the fragment shell.

An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. The single figure shows a longitudinal section through a cartridge ammunition.

A fragmentary bullet 1 with a caliber of 30 mm has a base igniter 2, a guide band 3 and is connected to a propellant charge sleeve 4.

Part of a storey log 10 is designed as a solid breakdown core 12. A recess 16 with a length 18 adjoins the punch core 12 with a length 14 at the rear. The recess 16 is divided into a conical and a cylindrical section 20, 22. These sections 20, 22 represent the fragment jacket 24.

Dieser Abstand 31 beträgt etwas weniger als 1/3 des Kalibers 32.On the splinter jacket 24, a groove 26 is provided for the strangled propellant charge sleeve 4 and a threaded connection 5 for the base igniter 2. The front end of the propellant charge sleeve 4 is designated 30 and is at a distance 31 from the rear end 36 of the splinter jacket 24 or the plane 34. This distance 31 is slightly less than 1/3 of the caliber 32.

The ground igniter 2 has an overall length 50 with two approximately equal partial lengths, namely an inner partial length 52 and an outer partial length 54.

The ground igniter 2 also has a cylindrical section 56 with a damping body 57, a peg-shaped housing 60 for a booster charge, not shown, corresponding to the partial length 52 and a conical stop collar 62 with a rear-side, conical pin 64 corresponding to the outer partial length 54.

The stop collar 62 and the pin 64 lie within the propellant charge sleeve 4 with the cargo 66 poured into the cargo space 68, that is to say outside of the fragment jacket 24. The cargo 66 completely fills the cargo space 68.

The explosive charge 70 has a bore 74 on the rear side. The end face 72 lies at a distance 76 from the end 36 of the splinter jacket 24.

The illustrated embodiment represents the third alternative mentioned at the outset, namely a ballistic fragmentary projectile 1 with a substantially enlarged one Explosive component 70 while maintaining the usual thicknesses of the projectile tip (penetration core 12) and wall of the splinter jacket 24.

The penetration performance of the puncture core 12 is given in aircraft structures and lightly armored vehicles due to the excessively long explosive charge 70. The explosive charge pulse transmitted to the breakdown core 12 is significantly higher than in the prior art. The fragmentation performance is also much higher.
The explosive occupancy with respect to the fragment jacket 24 is significantly higher than in the prior art.

The splinters are given a higher speed by the ignition at the bottom than by an approximately central detonation of the explosive charge 70. This speed results from the addition of the projectile speed and the explosive-side splinter speed. The ignition on the bottom is therefore of two advantages.
