Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a closable cooling air grill for an armored vehicle consisting of two frames, one Have row of parallel slats, with a frame with respect the other in a division plane transverse to the direction of Slats is slidable.
For armored vehicles, the air inlet is for cooling and intake air usually arranged on the top surface of the tub. At the Entering a body of water from an embankment, at one buoyant armored vehicle also through swell, the Cooling air inlet flooded. Because such quantities from the bilge pump can no longer be managed, the air intake (also against shelling) protective grill previously closed will.
A generic cooling air grill, if not special for armored vehicles, is known from DE GM 74 21 585. By moving one frame, the slats of the both frames are made to match, according to the opened state. This is the free passage cross section a maximum of half the area of the frame. Since the grill in closed state must also be tight, is an overlap necessary, which means less than half when open Space is available. There is also a significant throttling effect occurs, the cooling air throughput is thus severely limited.
In addition, there is also a ballistic one for armored vehicles Protection required that does not allow a transparent grill. In addition, a low height is desirable, which is why well-known ones Folding blinds apart from their poor sealability are not suitable.
It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a cooling air grill that disturbs the cooling air flow as little as possible, good seals and is also bulletproof.
Due to the sliding frame, there are short actuation paths given, the inclined slats reduce the overall height and ensure bullet resistance, the thickness of the slats in the Partition level provides the sealing required Overlap. Because of the convergent-divergent flow channels however, the geometric cross-section reduction only leads to a slight decrease in the cooling air throughput.

In Fig.1 and Fig.2 the tub is only partially shown

The
In Figure 3, the
Fig.4 zeigt den Grill in geöffneter Stellung.
beschleunigt und im divergenten Teil wieder verzögert wird;
Fig. 4 shows the grill in the open position. Now ever form
