Abstract

The electric connector (1) has contacting mechanisms to make an electric contact with contacting mechanisms of external terminals. It also has devices or auxiliary devices for holding the connector (1) in a connection position where its contacting mechanisms are electrically connected to those of the external terminals. The contacting mechanisms of the electric connector (1) and the holder devices are spatially separated from each other. The connector (1) is preferably a circuit board connector for electrically connecting a first and a second circuit board (2,3). It is preferably formed so it can be plugged in perpendicular to the upper and/or lower side of one or both of the circuit boards (2,3).
