In Figur 1 ist ein erstes Ausführungsbeispiel einer erfindungsgemäßen einseitig gesockelten Hochdruckentladungslampe abgebildet. Sie besitzt einen im wesentlichen rotationssymmetrischen Außenkolben 1, der an einem Ende einen Schraubsockel 2 und eine Tellerfußeinschmelzung 3 aufweist. Innerhalb des Außenkolbens 1 befindet sich ein zweiseitig abgedichtetes, axial ausgerichtetes Entladungsgefäß 4 aus Quarzglas, in dem eine ionisierbare Füllung und zwei Elektroden 5 gasdicht eingeschlossen sind. Das Entladungsgefäß 4 besitzt eine sockelnahe 4a und eine sockelferne 4b Quetschdichtung mit jeweils einer eingeschmolzenen Molybdänfolie 6, die mit je einer der Elektroden 5 elektrisch leitend verbunden sind. Aus den Quetschdichtungen 4a, 4b des Entladungsgefäßes 4 ist jeweils eine Lampenstromzuführung 7 aus Molybdän herausgeführt, die mit der entsprechenden Molybdänfolie 6 elektrisch leitend verbunden sind.
Die beiden Lampenstromzuführungen 7 sind mit je einem separaten Bügel 8a, 8b des metallischen Lampengestells verschweißt. Beide Lampengestellbügel 8a, 8b sind im Tellerfuß 3 eingeschmolzen. Der mit der aus der sockelfernen Quetschdichtung 4b herausragenden Lampenstromzuführung 7 verschweißte Gestellbügel 8b verläuft teilweise parallel zum Entladungsgefäß 4 und ist an einer Einwölbung 9 im Dom des Außenkolben 1 fixiert.
