Description

The present invention relates to a concrete mixer provided with a high pressure washing device, the mixer comprising a stationary tank and a rotor arranged to rotate in the tank, and the washing device comprising at least one movable arm provided with nozzles and arranged to perform a rotary movement in the tank, and supply conduits connecting the spray nozzles to a stationary source of high pressure cleaning liquid which is outside the tank.

The inside of the tank of concrete mixers must be cleaned periodically, at least at the end of a manufacturing step, because the remains of cement or concrete adhere very strongly to the walls of the tank and to the elements of the rotor if lets them harden. For this purpose, the projection of water jets under a high pressure of 100 to 150 bars (10 to 15 MPa) constitutes a convenient, effective and inexpensive cleaning means. This can be done manually using high pressure lances which are introduced into the mixer through an inspection door. However, such a method does not always allow adequate treatment of all the surfaces of the tank and the rotor, especially in large mixers, and moreover the handling of these lances is not without danger. This is why we are trying to mechanize this process.

Certain mixers are known having horizontal rotors and lateral ramps of high-pressure nozzles which can clean the rotors by virtue of their rotation. A similar device, comprising high-pressure nozzles on a fixed circular ramp, was provided in a mixer with vertical axis. However, these devices cannot uniformly clean all of the interior surfaces of the tank.

In mixers having a central rotor with vertical axis, a washing device is known, formed by projection nozzles mounted on arms which are integral with the rotor, so that the nozzles and the pipes distributing the water to them rotate with the rotor in all circumstances. This requires a central supply duct fitted with a rotating joint. However, this rotary joint constitutes a weak point which requires limiting the pressure to a value of the order of 60 to 70 bars (6 to 7 MPa), which restricts the effectiveness of the washing device.

The subject of the present invention is a concrete mixer equipped with a washing device capable of projecting a liquid onto all the desired surfaces inside the mixer tank, with a high pressure supply of at least 100 bars. (10 MPa), avoiding the use of a rotating joint on the high pressure supply lines. This washing device must also allow the automatic cleaning of the concrete mixer without opening its cover and without manual intervention, this cleaning being controlled by an operator from a control room, which guarantees total safety of use.

For this purpose, the invention relates to a concrete mixer of the kind indicated above, characterized in that said supply conduits comprise a flexible hose at high pressure between a stationary connection, connected to said source of liquid, and a movable connection which is connected to the projection nozzles and follows the rotary movement of the movable arm, this rotary movement being a reciprocating movement over a limited angle around an axis of rotation.

In this way, the movable arm is independent of the rotor and does not need to make more than one revolution to reach all the areas of the interior of the tank. This rotation can even be limited to a fraction of a turn if the mobile arm has two branches or if there are several mobile arms arranged in a star. The flexible hose allows a supply with washing liquid at any high pressure and without risk of leakage, thanks to the elimination of the rotary joint provided in the prior art.

Preferably, the flexible pipe has a spiral shape, the movable connection being closer to the axis of rotation than the stationary connection.

In the preferred application to a mixer with a vertical axis, said axis of rotation is vertical and coincides with the axis of the rotor, and the movable arm is located above the rotor. Preferably, the rotor is mounted on a fixed support secured to a bottom of the tank and the movable arm is mounted in a bearing supported by an upper cover of the tank.

In a preferred embodiment of the washing device, the movable arm is supported by an axial tube mounted in the rotation bearing and constituting a section of supply conduit, and drive means are coupled to the axial tube at the outside of the tank, to produce the rotary movement of the movable arm. Said axial tube can be rigidly connected to the mobile connector by means of a section of radial tube supporting the mobile connector at a distance from the axis of rotation. The drive means may include a fluid pressure cylinder, the stroke of which determines the angle of rotation of the movable arm.

De préférence, l'angle de rotation du bras mobile est légèrement supérieur à 180°.The movable arm preferably comprises two branches extending substantially symmetrically with respect to the axis of rotation. The angle of rotation of the movable arm can be less than or equal to 360 °. Preferably, the angle of rotation of the movable arm is slightly greater than 180 °.

Other characteristics and advantages of the present invention will appear in the following description of an exemplary embodiment, with reference to the appended drawing, in which:
  • FIG. 1 is a schematic view in partial vertical section of a concrete mixer according to the invention, equipped with a high-pressure washing device, and
  • - Figure 2 is a schematic plan view of the washing device.

The mixer shown in Figures 1 and 2 is a mixer of known type with vertical axis, comprising a cylindrical tank 1 in which a rotor 2 rotates comprising arms 3, 4 provided with blades 5, 6 which stir the concrete by circulating along from the flat bottom 7 of the tank. The rotor 2 is supported by a central support 8 which passes through the bottom 7 and which encloses the drive members. The tank 1 is closed by a cover 9, certain elements of which are mounted on hinges to form one or more liftable covers, as indicated by the reference 10 in FIG. 1. In FIG. 2, the cover 9 has been deleted in order to clarify the drawing. Furthermore, the mixer is equipped with the usual loading, emptying and control members, which are not shown.

To wash the inside of the tank 1 and the rotor 2 by means of high pressure water jets, there is provided a rotary arm 11 with two identical branches 12 and 13, equipped with projection nozzles 14 which are directed into different directions in order to reach all surfaces to be cleaned. The arm 11 is constituted by a tube serving as a supply pipe for the nozzles. It is supported by a vertical central tube 15 rotatably mounted around an axis 16 which coincides with the axis of the rotor 2, in a central bearing 17 supported by the cover 9. The inner conduit of the tube 15 is connected to that of the arm 11 to also serve as a supply conduit. Its upper end comprises a bend 18 connected to a section of radial tube 19 provided with a connector 20 at a certain distance from the axis 16, so that the connector 20 describes a horizontal arc when the arm 11 rotates around the axis 16. The movable connector 20 is connected to a fixed connector 21 by means of a high pressure flexible pipe 22 which, in the example shown above, has the shape of a spiral extending over a little less than two laps. Hoses of this kind are well known in hydraulic transmission devices and are capable of withstanding pressures greater than 150 bars. The connector 21 is connected to a source of water under high pressure 23 by means of a fixed supply conduit 24 (drawn diagrammatically in FIG. 1) and control means not shown, which are actuated at will to produce violent jets of water 25 at the outlet of the nozzles 14.

The rotary movement of the arm 11 is a reciprocating movement covering an angle A between two positions which are shown in FIG. 2, namely a rest position of the arm 11, drawn in solid lines, and an end position 11 'race drawn in mixed lines. Preferably, the angle A is slightly greater than 180 ° in order to guarantee that all the oblique surfaces are reached by the jets 25. In this example, the angle A is approximately 210 °. The rotary movement of the arm is obtained by means of a double-acting hydraulic cylinder 26, the piston rod of which comprises a rack 27 driving a pinion 28 integral with the axial tube 15. In this way, it is the stroke of the cylinder 26 which determines the angle of rotation A. However, any other equivalent training means could be used.

It will be noted that the high-pressure washing device is completely independent of the rotor 2 and is located above the zone occupied by it and by the concrete in the tank 1. The nozzles 14 can be arranged in the most effective so that the jets reach any surface in the tank. The high pressure supply by means of the flexible hose 22 offers excellent guarantees against leakage safety and ensures a long service life. Its spiral shape prevents twisting of the pipe. This washing device also allows cleaning without manual intervention which eliminates all the risks associated with such intervention. In addition, cleaning can be controlled remotely by an operator located in a control room. It can also be carried out according to automatic cleaning cycles.

The present invention is not limited to the embodiment described above, but extends to any modification or variant obvious to a person skilled in the art. In particular, the water supply to the movable arm 11 can take place otherwise than through the axial tube 15, for example by means of an eccentric tube passing outside the bearing 17, through a semicircular slot in the cover. 9, and carrying the movable connector 20. It will also be noted that a washing device similar to that of the example described can be provided in a mixer with horizontal axis, insofar as the movable arm can occupy a rest position where it is not reached by the mixed concrete.
