Abstract

The information transmission system includes the beacon (1) which is controlled by the control device (2), the beacon being fitted beneath the rails of a railway line. The signal transmitted by the beacon is picked up by the aerial (3) mounted on board the railway vehicle (5), for transmission to a unit (4) within the vehicle. When a vehicle is in the region of the beacon, the switching between successive messages is delayed. The transmission (7) which supplies the beacon carries an alternating voltage corresponding to the message, and a direct current component.

Description

The present invention relates to a device and a method for transmission of information by a beacon so that a beacon and device, control for an information transmission device.

Les dispositifs de transmission d'informations de l'art antérieur font appel à des balises ponctuelles (voir, par exemple, l'article dans Ericsson Review, No. 1, 1981, p.22-29, de A. Sjöberg, portant le titre "Automatic Train Control").Information transmission devices of prior art use point tags (see, for example, the article in Ericsson Review, No. 1, 1981, p.22-29, by A. Sjöberg, entitled "Automatic Train Control ").

These tags are passive tags and are arranged on the ground.

Figure 1 shows a transmission device state of the art information including a equipment on board a railway vehicle and a floor installation.

The beacon 1 is fixed on crosspieces, in the axis a railway track 6.

The on-board equipment mainly consists an antenna 3 and an evaluation unit 4.

The evaluation unit 4, which can be a computer, is powered by its own converter and is connected to antenna 3.

The antenna 3 is located under the rail vehicle 5, preferably at the front of it.

The tags used in the control systems, for example the speed of a train, allow the transmission of information on signaling status downstream of their geographic position.

This information is received using an antenna located under the train.

The tag emits a series of bits in series, for example at a speed of 50 kbit / s, using equipment control electronics responsible for developing a message.

These tags have a fixed length, which defines a region of space in which the antenna on board of a train is capable of receiving the transmitted message.

This length of capture, also called length contact, allows to transmit a certain number of bits of a message to transmit.

A binary message is read between a control device and the train via a beacon. A synchronization takes place between the start of the message and the arrival of the train on the beacon and therefore at the start of the reading the tag.

Les figures 2A à 2C illustrent, respectivement, l'émission de messages Mn au moyen d'une balise de l'état de la technique, la lecture du message au moyen de l'antenne embarquée puis la reconstitution du message émis à partir du message lu.FIGS. 2A to 2C illustrate, respectively, the emission of Mn messages by means of a state tag the technique, the reading of the message by means of the antenna on-board and then the reconstruction of the message sent from message read.

The on-board antenna has a reading window predetermined which is a function of its structure.

The binary message read by the on-board antenna may not not match the full Mn message, but match the more often to a juxtaposition of two parts complementary to two successive Mn messages.

Figure 2B illustrates this binary message read by the on-board antenna.

La figure 2C illustre le message binaire reconstitué à bord du train.FIG. 2C illustrates the binary message reconstructed at board the train.

At high speed, the antenna capture length therefore does not allow the reception of more than one message.

A consequence of the above is that it is possible from reading a single message sent from reconstitute this message sent on the only condition that the two parts of available messages belong to successive messages with identical content.

It therefore appears a difficulty when the equipment responsible for establishing the messages sent switches the content of these messages, for example to reflect a change signaling status.

A consequence of this switching of the content of messages sent is that messages sent before and after this switching have different content.

The message reconstituted on board the train is then inconsistent because composed of two parts of a first and a second messages sent with different content.

An object of the invention is therefore a device for transmission of information by tags not presenting this disadvantage.

Another object of the invention is a device for transmission of information by beacons allowing everything instant reconstitution of coherent messages.

In accordance with the invention, the device for message transmission contains the characteristics according to claim 1.

The invention also relates to a beacon and a control device. for a message transmission device containing the characteristics according to claim 5.

The invention also relates to a method of transmission of messages containing the characteristics according to claim 6.

Other objects, characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the description of the preferred embodiment of the device for transmitting information by beacons, description made in conjunction with the drawings in which:
  • FIG. 1 represents a device for transmitting state of the art information comprising equipment on board a railway vehicle and a ground installation,
  • FIGS. 2A to 2C illustrate, respectively, the transmission of messages Mn by means of a beacon of the state of the art, the reading of the message by means of the on-board antenna then the reconstruction of the message transmitted from the message read, according to a principle known from the state of the art,

  • FIG. 4 represents a block diagram of a preferred embodiment of a beacon used in the device for transmitting information by beacons according to the invention.

Les figures 1 et 2 sont décrites ci-dessus.Figures 1 and 2 are described above.

Les figures 3A à 3E illustrent l'émission retardée de la commutation C entre les messages Mn et les messages Mn+1 au moyen d'une balise conforme au principe de l'invention.FIGS. 3A to 3E illustrate the delayed emission of switching C between Mn messages and Mn + 1 messages by means of a tag conforming to the principle of the invention.

To prevent the reconstructed message from being inconsistent, it is possible to hold the device command informed of the presence of a train above the tag.

This information relating to the presence of a train allows to generate a delay in the switching C of the content messages.

When a train arrives below a beacon, it is transmits information to the control device relating to the presence of the train which allows the device to command to delay switching C of the content of messages sent.

To do this, the control device emits one or several additional Mn messages Mns to the beacon so as to delay switching C between messages Mn and Mn + 1 messages.

It follows from the above that the two half-messages read by the on-board antenna are consistent and so allow the reconstruction of a message also coherent.

Beacon 1 used in the transmission system information is passive equipment, i.e. having no own source of electrical energy permed.

The remote supply is carried out in a known manner by coupling between the antenna 3 of the train and the beacon 1.

The tag 1 is therefore not capable of providing energy to power a power line 7 of transmission to the control device 2.

L'information relative à la présence d'un train est élaboré, conformément à l'invention, par la superposition par le dispositif de commande 2 de deux signaux sur la ligne de transmission 7 vers la balise 1.Information relating to the presence of a train is developed, in accordance with the invention, by superposition by the control device 2 of two signals on the line 7 to the beacon 1.

These superimposed signals consist of a voltage alternative corresponding to the messages sent Mn and a DC polarization of the transmission line corresponding to the information relating to the presence of a train.

In the presence of a train 5, the tag 1 short-circuits the end of the transmission line from the control device 2 for direct current only.

The control device 2 then detects a short circuit on transmission line 7 for current continuous only and infers information relating to the presence of a train 5 directly above the connected beacon 1 to the short-circuited line.

The alternating voltage corresponding to the messages sent not being short-circuited by tag 1, the messages can be sent by the control device 2 to the antenna 3 on board by means of the beacon 1.

The beacon 1 is therefore connected to the control device 2 by a transmission line 7 and consists of:
  • a first interface 8 sensitive only to alternating signals and
  • a second interface 9 sensitive only to direct current.

The first interface 8 sensitive only to alternative signals has the function of receiving messages sent by the control device 2 and intended for be read by the on-board antenna 3.

The second interface 9 sensitive only to current continuous has the function of short-circuiting the line of transmission 7 for direct current only.

It follows from the above a method of transmission of information Mn by means of a beacon 1 controlled by a control device 2.

The information transmission method Mn comprises a first step consisting in superimposing, on the line of transmission 7 connecting the beacon 1 and the device transmission 2, by means of the control device 2, a AC voltage corresponding to the messages sent and a direct current.

A second step is to short-circuit for direct current only, using the second interface 9, the transmission line 7, during the reception, by means of the second interface 9, of a information 10 relating to the presence of the vehicle 5 to proximity to beacon 1.

L'étape suivante consiste à détecter le court-circuit au moyen du dispositif de commande 2.The next step is to detect the short circuit by means of the control device 2.

A fourth step is to delay, using the control device 2, switching C between the Mn messages and Mn + 1 messages, by transmission, always by means of the control device 2, one or several additional Mn messages Mns.

A beacon (1) and a control device (2) for a device for transmitting messages (Mn, Mn+1, Mns), the beacon being connected to the control device (2) by a transmission line (7), characterised in that the beacon includes a first interface (8) for alternating current signals only, the function of which is to receive said messages (Mn, Mn+1, Mns) sent by said control device (2) and then to transmit them so that an on-board antenna (3) on a vehicle (5) can read the messages (Mn, Mn+1, Mns), and a second interface (9) adapted to transmit two said control device (2) a signal relating to the presence of a vehicle (5) near said beacon (1), said second interface (9) being a direct current only interface the function of which is to short-circuit said transmission line (7) for said direct current only on receiving an indication (10) relating to the presence of said vehicle (5) near said beacon (1), and the control device (2) in response to the detection of the short-circuit, delaying changeover (C) between first messages (Mn) and second messages (Mn+1) for as long as the presence of the vehicle (5) is detected by transmitting one or more additional first messages (Mns).
  6. A method of transmitting messages (Mn, Mn+1, Mns) by means of a beacon (1) controlled by a control device (2), characterised by the following steps:
superposing by means of said control device (2) an alternating current voltage corresponding to said messages (Mn, Mn+1, Mns) and a direct current on a transmission line (7) connecting said beacon (1) and said control device (2),
short-circuiting by means of an interface (9) for said direct current only said transmission line (7) in response to reception by the interface (9) of an indication (10) relating to the presence of said vehicle (5) near said beacon (1),
detecting the short-circuit by said control device (2) and, in response to such detection, by means of said control device (2), delaying changeover (C) between first messages (Mn) and second messages (Mn+1) for as long as the presence of the vehicle (5) is detected by sending one or more additional first messages (Mns) by means of said control device (2).
