Definitions
- the present invention relates generally circuit breakers, and it specifically targets those comprising, in a housing, a contact support, which is rotatably mounted around a fixed axis, i.e. a fixed axis relative to the housing, a hanging piece, which is it also rotatably mounted around this fixed axis, two contacts mobile, one phase, the other neutral, which, each engaged respectively by drilling on a cylindrical surface coaxial of the fixed axis, are each respectively subjected to a elastic member permanently urging them in direction a support stop provided for this purpose on the support of contacts, an operating device, which is available to the user, and who, through a connecting rod assembly, and under the control of the attachment piece, is able to pass the contact support of a tripping position, for which the mobile contacts are each respectively at distance from fixed contacts, i.e.
- circuit breakers phase and neutral than differential circuit breakers correspondents.
- circuit breakers i.e. circuit breakers whose housing is in the general form of a plate of given contour and of determined thickness and which can thus be arranged contiguously side by side on the same support.
- the cylindrical bearing belonging in practice to the contact support it has as a consequence that the support stop provided for the movable contact on this support of contacts is formed by this same cylindrical bearing, of the side of it diametrically opposite to the fulcrum of the associated elastic organ.
- the mobile phase contact intervenes after that neutral, so that it closes outside voltage.
- the functional areas to be provided for this purpose on the mobile contacts are advantageously limited.
- the contacts fixed 21P, 21N are aligned with each other in a plane P1 parallel to the fixed axis A1, Figure 6, and the support stops 18P, 18N provided on the contact support 11 for the movable contacts 13P, 13N are angularly offset one by relative to the other by an angle B around the fixed axis A1, such that shown schematically in Figure 6.
- the support of contacts 11 comprises, on the one hand, transversely by relative to the fixed axis A1, an insulation wall 25, on the one hand and other of which extend the movable contacts 13P, 13N, and, on the other hand, along the fixed axis A1, two ends of the shaft 26P, 26N, which extend axially projecting back to back from on either side of the insulation wall 25, and on which are formed the cylindrical bearings 15P, 15N suitable for the rotation engagement of the movable contacts 13P, 13N and the attachment part 12.
- the shaft end 26P In addition to the cylindrical seat 15P of the movable contact 13P phase, the shaft end 26P therefore forms, at its root, according to a diameter slightly larger than that of the litter cylindrical 15P, a cylindrical reach 15'P suitable for the engagement in rotation of the attachment piece 12.
- this lug 28P and this shaft 28N materialize, in the embodiment shown, the axis fixed A1.
- this fixed axis A1 could just as easily well be formed for example by a piece independent of the housing 10.
- the 30P baluster is circular in outline, and at its basic, it presents, for reasons which will appear below, a section 31 of greater diameter.
- the smaller column 30N is truncated by a flat which, parallel to the fixed axis A1, forms the support stop 18N at its end.
- these elastic opening means 22, visible in Figure 2 are constituted by a spring compression, which, bearing on a shoulder 35 of the housing 10, and, more precisely, on the base 10N thereof, carries on the arm 34, and, for centering and retaining this spring, this arm 34 projects a pin 36.
- a spout 37 which, in practice, is generally curved around the fixed axis A1.
- the wall insulation 25 of the contact support 11 has, projecting, on the same side as the 30P baluster, and between it and the shaft end 26P, parallel to the fixed axis A1, another column 38, the end of which is truncated by a chamfer 40, and which forms, transversely, that is to say globally perpendicular to the fixed axis A1, a notch 41P.
- the column 30N forms, transversely, at its free end, and on the side opposite to the support stop 18N, a notch 41N, generally perpendicular to the fixed axis A1.
- the part attachment 12 comprises, on the one hand, transversely by relative to the fixed axis A1, an insulation wall 43, by a circular bore 44 from which it is rotatably engaged on the cylindrical seat 15'P provided for this purpose on the contact support 11 coaxially with the fixed axis A1, and on the one hand and on the other of which extend the movable contacts 13P, 13N, and, on the other hand, along generators parallel to the fixed axis A1, a protective wall 45, which, disposed beyond movable contacts 13P, 13N relative to the fixed axis A1, extends on either side of the insulation wall 43.
- the attachment piece 12 is in abutment axial against the contact support 11, with its wall insulation 43, otherwise adjacent to the insulation wall 25 of this contact support 11, at least close to this wall insulation 25 and parallel thereto.
- the protective wall 45 which is perpendicular to the insulation wall 43, extends only over an angle-to-the-center reduced, less than 180 °, relative to the fixed axis A1.
- the part attachment 12 comprises two drive stops 46P, 46N which, each intended respectively to come bear against the movable contacts 13P, 13N on opening, are offset angularly with respect to each other by an angle C around of the fixed axis A1, as shown diagrammatically in FIG. 9.
- the drive stop 46P of the moving contact 13P phase is ahead of that 46N of the movable contact 13N neutral in the direction of rotation which, as shown by the arrow F2 in Figure 9, corresponds when these movable contacts 13P, 13N pass from their position to engage, or close, at their position of trigger, or opening.
- the rib constituting the drive stop 46P has a height greater than that of the rib constituting the stop drive 46N.
- the attachment piece 12 is locally engaged under the spout 37 of the contact support 11 (not visible in the figures).
- this protective wall 45 presents itself, in line with the insulation wall 43, a spout 48, for the action of a rearming spring 49.
- the exhibit attachment 12 also, in extension of its insulation wall 43, along one of the edges of the wall of protection 45, at the connection thereto of the spout 48, another beak 56, which, by its edge, forms a ramp 57 and which has, at the end thereof, a notch 58.
- a triggering organ magnetic 24A and a thermal trigger 24B are provided.
- the triggering member magnet 24A comprises, around a core 59 of axis A2 orthogonal to the fixed axis A1, a winding 60, and, mounted mobile along the axis A2 of the core 59, a striker 61.
- the thermal release 24B is a bimetallic strip.
- the insulation wall 43 of the room hooking 12 extends for this purpose generally along a plane P2 which, perpendicular to the fixed axis A1, contains the axis A2 of the magnetic trip member 24A, FIG. 4.
- the striker 61 of the triggering member magnetic 24A is able to act on the edge of the wall of insulation 43 of the attachment piece 12, away from the axis fixed A1.
- the P2 plane is shown diagrammatically in lines interrupted by its trace on this figure 4.
- the attachment part 12 has a lug 62 which is interposed on the path likely to be swept by the free end of this trigger member thermal 24B.
- this lug 62 protrudes parallel to the fixed axis A1 on an arm 63 extending substantially along its plane the insulation wall 43 of the attachment piece 12 or parallel to this insulation wall 43 while being slightly offset from it.
- two others triggering devices 24C, 24D are provided, each formed a finger which, coming from a trigger device auxiliary, extends parallel to the fixed axis A1, and which, by Therefore, is only present by its trace in Figure 8.
- the auxiliary trigger is for example a remote release, not shown.
- the movable contacts 13P, 13N are in practice each formed of a suitably cut metal blank, and, possibly stamped.
- the two arms 71, 72 are generally bent, with their respective end sections overall perpendicular to each other, the end section of the arm 72 being directed on the side opposite to the fixed contacts 21P, 21N.
- arm 71 presents, in its elbow, on its edge, for reasons which will appear below, a notch 73.
- a boss 74 in practice rounded, by which the mobile contact 13P, corresponding 13N is capable of coming to bear against such a fixed contact 21P, 21N, and which, in the form of shown, extends symmetrically over one and the other of the faces of such a movable contact 21P, 21N.
- the movable contacts 13P, 13N each have, between these arms 71, 72, an arm 75 to which is harnessed with a metallic braid 76, figure 2, for their insertion in the corresponding electrical circuits.
- the elastic member 16P associated with the movable contact 13P of phase is, in the embodiment shown, a pin spring, generally U-shaped, of which, on the one hand, the two branches 77 each extend respectively on either side of such a mobile contact 13P, 13N, with a median portion of twist 78 engaged coaxially on the corresponding cylindrical seat 15P, 15N of the contact support 11 and a free end 79 in support on a shoulder 80P, 80N thereof, and of which, on the other hand, the middle part 81 relates to the edge of this movable contact 13P, 13N, thanks to the notch 73 of his arm 71.
- the shoulders 80P, 80N that the contact support 11 for the elastic members 16P, 16N are formed by its balusters 30P, 30N, on the side thereof opposite the support stops 18P, 18N.
- branches 77 which is the most internal, that is to say the one that is the most close to the insulation wall 25 of the contact support 11.
- the attachment part 12 being inserted between the support of contacts 11 and the movable contact 13P of phase, the restraint axial of the latter also ensures the axial retention of this attachment piece 12.
- one of the branches 77 of the spring in pin forming the elastic member 16N is engaged, by its free end 79, with the notch 41N of the baluster 30N, or, at least, is below this notch 41N compared to the insulation wall 25 of the contact support 11.
- a return spring 82 in practice a torsion spring, which permanently urges it in direction of its trigger position.
- the connecting rod 20 by means of which this operating member 19 is capable to act on the contact support 11 comprises, on the one hand, a connecting rod 83, which, at one of its ends, and along an axis A4 parallel to the fixed axis A1, is articulated to the body of maneuver 19, this operating member 19 having for this purpose an ear 84, and, on the other hand, a pawl 85, to which the connecting rod 83 is articulated at the other of its ends, according to an axis A5 parallel to the fixed axis A1, this pawl 85 having for this purpose a first ear 86, and which, by a second ear 87, is itself pivotally mounted on the support contacts 11, along an axis A6 parallel to the fixed axis A1, in being rotatably engaged on the section 31 of greater diameter presented at its base by the 30P baluster thereof.
- the pawl 85 has a spout 89 on which is likely to be hooked by its notch 58 the attachment piece 12.
- the assembly can be carried out as follows.
- the elastic member 16N is engaged laterally on the movable neutral contact 13N, according to the arrow F3 in FIG. 1, and this movable contact 13N is engaged, with its elastic member 16N, on the shaft end 26N of the contact support 11, along arrow F4 in FIG. 1, making sure that the branches 77 of the hairpin spring constituting the elastic member 16P come to carry by their free end 79 on the shoulder 80N that forms for them the column 30N of the contact support 11.
- the movable neutral contact 13N then comes to carry by its arm 72 on the support stop 18N of the contact support 11.
- the contact support 11 forms then with the movable neutral contact 13N and the organ elastic 16N associated with it a unitary subset, that is to say, captive.
- the operating member 19 is put in place, with its return spring 82, then the spring constituting the means opening bands 22.
- the mobile contact 13P phase comes to carry by its arm 72 on the support stop 18P contact support 11.
- the contact support 11 forms with the movable neutral contact 13N, the elastic member 16N associated therewith, the attachment part 12, the contact mobile 13P phase and the elastic member 16P associated with this one, a unitary subset 90, that is to say a captive subset, which is shown in isolation on the Figures 3 and 4, and to which also belongs in practice the pawl 85, the axial retention of this pawl 85 being ensured by the moving phase contact 13P.
- assembly can be carried out individual of this subset 90, before any engagement on tree 28N.
- the attachment piece 12 carries by its ramp 57 against the spout 89 of pawl 85, as shown in FIG. 2.
- the operating member 19 drives ratchet 85 in reverse, causing the rotation of the latter on the column 30P of the support contacts 11, around axis A6, along arrow F7 of the Figure 7A.
- the mobile neutral 13N contact is the first to come into contact with the associated fixed contact 21N, as shown in Figure 7B.
- This alignment corresponds to a point crossing death beyond which, by kneepad effect, that is to say by bracing effect, the A4 axis intermediate between the axes A3 and A5 having crossed the line connecting one to the other these last, the operating member 19 is on its own locked, disengageably, in position engagement; it then keeps in the closed position movable contacts 13P, 13N, with, for these, the pressure contact due to elastic members 16P, 16N.
- This attachment piece 12 therefore benefits from a angular zone of freedom around the fixed axis A1 in which it is not subject to this rearming spring 49.
- the attachment piece 12 acts first on the mobile contact 13P phase, then on the mobile contact 13N neutral, thus ensuring the desired opening sequence for these.
- the piece hooking 12 is again biased by the spring of reset 49, and this ensures its return to position for which, as shown in FIG. 2, it is supported by its ramp 57 on the spout 89 of the pawl 85, and, therefore, for which, a new engagement is possible.
- a triggering process of the same type as the previous takes place if instead of the trigger magnetic 24A, this is the thermal triggering device 24B who intervenes.
- a triggering process similar to that described also takes place in the event of intervention by one or the other triggering members 24C, 24D.
- the circuit breaker according to the invention when, usually, the circuit breaker according to the invention is attached vertically to a horizontal support rail, transversely to this support rail, with its operating member 19 directed towards top in latching position, latching piece 12 is prevented from engaging with the pawl 85 if, during a tripping, the circuit breaker is the subject of an incident mechanical leading for example to bonding of the contacts mobile 13P, 13N on fixed contacts 21P, 21N and / or to a blocking of the assembly.
- this attachment piece 12 is as it is then the object of a torque around the fixed axis A1 sufficient for, despite the resetting spring 49, it remains at a distance from the pawl 85.
- the arm 63 of the attachment piece 12 carrying lug 62 provided for the action of the triggering member thermal 24B extends away from the insulating wall 43 of this attachment piece 12, parallel to this wall insulation 43.
- the lug 62 extends in the direction of this one.
