Claims (8)

  1. Locking device for sliding shutters, sliding doors and like elements running along a fixed rail, comprising a fitting (5) arranged on the sliding shutter, at least one traction rope (17) by means of which the sliding shutter can be moved along the rail, a catch (7), arranged for swivelling on the fitting (5) of the sliding shutter, for locking the sliding shutter in its closed position, and a transmission element (8, 19) which connects the traction rope (17) to the catch (7) and converts the traction movement of the rope (17) into a swivelling movement of the catch (7), the fitting (5) being provided with a stop (18) which limits the range of movement of the transmission element (8, 19), characterized in that a guide (15) extending in the direction of traction of the traction rope (17) is formed on the fitting (5) to guide the transmission element (8, 19), and in its movement along the guide (15) the transmission element (8, 19) slides along on a run-up surface (20) on the catch (7).
  2. Locking device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the run-up surface (20) is formed on the underside of the lever.
  3. Locking device according to one of Claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the catch (7) has a beak (12) which can be locked behind a fixed stop (13).
  4. Locking device according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the traction rope (17) is in the form of a circuiting rope which is guided over two guide rollers and which is connected to the transmission element (8) at two fastening points (16a, 16b).
  5. Locking device according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the swivellable catch (7) remains in its locking position because of its dead weight.
  6. Locking device according to one of Claims 1 to 5, characterized by an unlocking means, mounted on the inner side of the sliding shutter (1, 1a, 1b), for the catch (7).
  7. Locking device according to Claim 6, characterized in that the unlocking means has a slide (22) whose end can be brought to bear against the catch (7).
  8. Locking device according to Claim 7, characterized in that the top end of the slide (22) is in the form of a push rod (23) lying against the underside of the catch (7).
