Such a connector has already been proposed in German patent application 4,313,771. At high transmission frequencies, the proposed connector has improved high-frequency properties compared to conventional connectors. However, these improved high-frequency properties do not meet all requirements.
The object of the present invention is to provide a connector of the type mentioned at the outset, the high-frequency properties of which meet all the requirements currently set.
This object is achieved for a plug connector of the type mentioned at the outset in that the shielding elements of the female connector consist of combable shielding transverse sheets and longitudinal shielding sheets which can be inserted into one another, wherein all shielding plates in the front area of the receiving chambers are provided with incisions of a predetermined width and the respective corners are bent in a predetermined direction, and that at the intersection of the shielding elements anchored in the male connector and connected to ground thin additional contact pins are provided, which the shielding plates Contact female connector in the front area of the receiving chambers.
In the connector according to the invention, the shielding elements arranged in the intermediate grid are contacted on the corresponding printed circuit boards by means of the additional contact pins. This enables a KOAX function, which is cheaper than the conventional KOAX connector design and gives the connector according to the invention high-frequency properties which meet all of today's requirements.
An expedient embodiment of the connector according to the invention is characterized in that the shielding elements of the male connector consist of combable shielding sheet metal strips which can be pushed into one another and which are bent essentially in a wave-like manner so that there is a resilient contact with the contact pins at the crossing points. In this way, very good shielding of the signal-carrying knives is also achieved within the bottom of the male connector.
In order to achieve good high-frequency properties even with connectors in which the connections of the female connector are bent at right angles, another embodiment of the connector according to the invention is characterized in that the shielding plates are bent at right angles, the first leg parallel to the longitudinal direction of the receiving chambers and the second Leg runs perpendicular to the circuit board, and that the longitudinal shield plates are separated in the angular range by insulating angle profiles.
Further refinements of the connector according to the invention result from the further subclaims and from the following description of an exemplary embodiment with reference to the figure.
