Definitions
- the invention relates to a bottle packaging consisting of a substantially cylindrical bottle and an outer packaging made of cardboard material, in the sleeve-like lower part of the packaging which is open at the bottom, the bottle is inserted firmly and flush and the upper part of the packaging engages over the bottle cap and is connected to the lower part of the packaging by means of a zipper.
- the lower part of the packaging and the upper part of the packaging connected to it by means of the zip fastener each consist of a cylindrical cardboard tube which overlap in the manner of a slip box.
- the zipper is formed by an adhesive strip connecting the two parts.
- the production of such cardboard tubes is relatively complex.
- the formation of the overlapping sections of the upper part and the lower part and the attachment of the zipper also require additional work steps in the manufacture.
- cardboard tubes with different diameters have to be provided, which in turn is required with a greater outlay for production and storage.
- such cardboard tubes can not be printed or only with great effort. That's why it is necessary to provide a printed label which must be glued to the cardboard tube in an additional step.
- the known outer packaging consisting of a cardboard tube cannot be stored and transported lying flat; rather, it takes up the same space as the finished bottle packaging during transport to the user and in the warehouse.
- the material requirement for the cardboard tubes is relatively high if sufficient stability is to be achieved.
- the object of the invention is therefore to design a bottle packaging of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it can be produced simply and with a relatively low material requirement, printed in a simple manner and stacked and transported lying flat.
- the outer packaging consists of a cardboard blank which is glued at least along a surface line to a packaging sleeve which closely encloses the bottle, and in that a cover flap connected to two opposite sleeve wall sections overlaps the bottle closure.
- This outer packaging can be cut out of relatively thin, flat cardboard material and produced, the cardboard material being printed while it is still lying flat.
- the gluing along a surface line also takes place during the production of the outer packaging, which can then be transported and stored lying flat when folded.
- the outer packaging is only erected when the bottle is inserted.
- the steps in the manufacturing process are therefore very similar to those in the manufacture of a folding box, so that conventional machines for folding box production can be easily converted to produce the outer packaging according to the invention.
- relatively thin cardboard can be used for the bottle packaging according to the invention, because the entire bottle packaging maintains its stability essentially through the combination of outer packaging and bottle. This results in considerable material savings.
- the material requirements are much lower anyway, because the packaging sleeve tightly encloses the bottle, because no packaging base has to be provided and because the packaging lid is not formed by several, superimposed closure flaps, but only by a single, single-layer cover flap.
- the cover flap over the bottle stopper which is connected to the two opposite sleeve wall sections, represents a tamper-evident closure which precludes any manipulation. This eliminates the need for a tamper-evident closure on the bottle itself.
- the zipper is preferably designed as a line of weakness of the cardboard material running around the circumference of the packaging sleeve. This line of weakness can be prepared in a very simple manner when punching out the cardboard blank, without any subsequent operations being required.
- the outer packaging preferably consists of a one-piece cardboard blank, which simplifies production and handling.
- packaging sleeve consists of two cut parts which are integrally connected to one another by the cover flap and which are in each case glued to one another at two opposite longitudinal edges.
- the bottle packaging shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 consists of an essentially cylindrical bottle 1, for example a medicament bottle, and an outer packaging 2 made of cardboard material.
- the outer packaging 2 forms a packaging sleeve 3 closely surrounding the bottle 1, which consists of a lower packaging part 4 and an upper packaging part 5, which are connected to one another by a zipper.
- the zipper is designed as a line of weakness 6 of the cardboard material running around the circumference of the packaging sleeve 3.
- the line of weakness 6 can consist of an interrupted cut or a perforation.
- the bottom of the packaging part 4 is open.
- the bottle 1 is inserted flush into the bottom of the packaging sleeve 4 and firmly connected to the bottom part 4 of the packaging by gluing.
- a cover flap 7 overlapping the bottle closure is integrally connected to two opposite sleeve wall sections 3a and 3b.
- the outer packaging 2 consists of a one-piece cardboard blank, which is shown in Fig. 3 in the flat state.
- the packaging sleeve 3 is formed by two blank parts 8, 9, which are made in one piece by the cover flap 7 are connected.
- the two blank parts 8, 9 are each glued to one another at two opposite longitudinal edges 10 and 11.
- the blank 9 has adhesive tabs 12 on its two longitudinal edges, which are placed over the adhesive tabs 13 formed on the two longitudinal edges of the blank 8 and glued to them.
- the two blank parts 8, 9 form the packaging sleeve 3 in the glued state, the lower packaging part 4 tightly enclosing the bottle 1.
- the outer packaging 2 can be stacked flat and transported in the state shown in FIG. 4.
- the packaging sleeve 3 has a plurality of parallel folding lines 14, each of which runs along the surface lines of the packaging sleeve.
- the width of the cover flap 7 is chosen approximately equal to the bottle diameter in its central region, so that the cover flap 7 covers the entire top of the bottle packaging.
- the cover flap 7 tapers towards its two ends foldably connected to the sleeve wall sections 3a and 3b, so that corners protruding beyond the circular base area are avoided.
- the upper edges of the sleeve wall sections 3c lying between the sleeve wall sections 3a and 3b are curved slightly upward in their central region, so that the two lateral openings below the cover flap 7 are largely closed.
- the interior in the upper region of the outer packaging 2 can therefore serve to hold an instruction leaflet which is inserted into the outer packaging 2 together with the bottle.
- the package insert can be removed if the outer packaging is torn open along the weakening line 6 and the upper packaging part 5 is removed.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a bottle packaging consisting of a substantially cylindrical bottle and an outer packaging made of cardboard material, in the sleeve-like lower part of the packaging which is open at the bottom, the bottle is inserted firmly and flush and the upper part of the packaging engages over the bottle cap and is connected to the lower part of the packaging by means of a zipper.
In a known bottle packaging of this type (DE-U 91 07 647), the lower part of the packaging and the upper part of the packaging connected to it by means of the zip fastener each consist of a cylindrical cardboard tube which overlap in the manner of a slip box. The zipper is formed by an adhesive strip connecting the two parts. The production of such cardboard tubes is relatively complex. The formation of the overlapping sections of the upper part and the lower part and the attachment of the zipper also require additional work steps in the manufacture. In order to adapt to different bottle sizes, cardboard tubes with different diameters have to be provided, which in turn is required with a greater outlay for production and storage. In addition, such cardboard tubes can not be printed or only with great effort. That's why it is necessary to provide a printed label which must be glued to the cardboard tube in an additional step.
The known outer packaging consisting of a cardboard tube cannot be stored and transported lying flat; rather, it takes up the same space as the finished bottle packaging during transport to the user and in the warehouse. The material requirement for the cardboard tubes is relatively high if sufficient stability is to be achieved.
The object of the invention is therefore to design a bottle packaging of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it can be produced simply and with a relatively low material requirement, printed in a simple manner and stacked and transported lying flat.
This object is achieved in that the outer packaging consists of a cardboard blank which is glued at least along a surface line to a packaging sleeve which closely encloses the bottle, and in that a cover flap connected to two opposite sleeve wall sections overlaps the bottle closure.
This outer packaging can be cut out of relatively thin, flat cardboard material and produced, the cardboard material being printed while it is still lying flat. The gluing along a surface line also takes place during the production of the outer packaging, which can then be transported and stored lying flat when folded. The outer packaging is only erected when the bottle is inserted.
The steps in the manufacturing process are therefore very similar to those in the manufacture of a folding box, so that conventional machines for folding box production can be easily converted to produce the outer packaging according to the invention.
In contrast to a folding box, which must also have sufficient stability regardless of the bottle contained therein, relatively thin cardboard can be used for the bottle packaging according to the invention, because the entire bottle packaging maintains its stability essentially through the combination of outer packaging and bottle. This results in considerable material savings. In comparison to a folding box packaging, the material requirements are much lower anyway, because the packaging sleeve tightly encloses the bottle, because no packaging base has to be provided and because the packaging lid is not formed by several, superimposed closure flaps, but only by a single, single-layer cover flap.
It is not necessary to print or stick on a label for the bottle or for a cardboard tube, since the printed lower part of the packaging remains firmly connected to the bottle even after opening the bottle packaging and thus represents the label.
The cover flap over the bottle stopper, which is connected to the two opposite sleeve wall sections, represents a tamper-evident closure which precludes any manipulation. This eliminates the need for a tamper-evident closure on the bottle itself.
The zipper is preferably designed as a line of weakness of the cardboard material running around the circumference of the packaging sleeve. This line of weakness can be prepared in a very simple manner when punching out the cardboard blank, without any subsequent operations being required.
The outer packaging preferably consists of a one-piece cardboard blank, which simplifies production and handling.
An embodiment has proven to be particularly advantageous in which the packaging sleeve consists of two cut parts which are integrally connected to one another by the cover flap and which are in each case glued to one another at two opposite longitudinal edges.
It is thereby achieved that there is no adhesive in the area of the cover flap, which would be more difficult to produce in terms of production technology and which could impair the tamper-evident seal, because it cannot be reliably determined whether such an adhesive was subsequently opened and then re-bonded.
Weitere vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen des Erfindungsgedankens sind Gegenstand weiterer Unteransprüche.Further advantageous embodiments of the inventive concept are the subject of further dependent claims.

The bottle packaging shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 consists of an essentially cylindrical bottle 1, for example a medicament bottle, and an

As shown in Fig. 3, the
