Description

The invention relates to a method for operating a sheet system for punching presses according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such sheet plant systems are used to feed sheets, for example made of aluminum sheet, into position in a punching press which punches out a predetermined number of blanks from the sheet. The sheet is clamped in the gripping means and moved by the feed slide between the punching tools, the movement normally taking place along two orthogonal axes, since an offset division is selected in order to make better use of the material. From DE-U-83 18 201 (this document contains the features of the preamble of claim 1) is a table system has become known, in which the feed carriage has two gripping tongs which grasp the panel at the rear edge and advance it step by step into the machine tool. The feed is coupled to the movement of the machine tool, for example the punch press, in such a way that the feed takes place at a time in which the tool carries out a return stroke and is therefore outside the working plane. After a work cycle for the board has ended, the feed carriage returns to a starting or receiving position, in which it grips the next board. This table is pushed in the correct position by a loading or feed carriage from a positioning station into the loading position in which the table is located directly in front of the tool. Here, the feed carriage moves under the feed device in order to bring the metal sheet into the loading or transfer position. The drive for the feed carriage is normally designed so that the feed carriage always brings the sheet into the same position, regardless of the size of the sheet and the die cut.

From the last feed step of a preceding sheet to the takeover of the subsequent sheet in the feed device, a certain time inevitably passes, which is significantly longer than the cycle time of the punch press. At In the known sheet system, the collets must first be removed from the old sheet and moved into a position behind the new sheet, in order then to bring them back into engagement with the rear edge of the sheet in the opposite direction of adjustment. The collets therefore cover two different adjustment paths, which means accelerating and braking for each. In the fastest known systems, this unproductive changeover time is about 1.8 seconds. At 200 strokes per minute, this corresponds to about 6 empty strokes of the punch press.

From DE-OS 34 37 642 a table system has already become known which works without unproductive change times. The known system requires two separate feed devices, each with collets acting on one side of the board, which are used alternately. However, such a system is relatively complex.

In systems working with feed slides, it is conceivable to switch off the press to avoid empty strokes until a new sheet has been taken over by the gripping means of the feed slide.

The disengagement of the punch press is not insignificant Disadvantage. Firstly, there is considerable wear. On the other hand, the punching press can only slowly increase to the working speed on each sheet when it is engaged. This can lead to problems when ejecting the stamped parts.

The invention is based on the object of specifying a method for operating a sheet placement system for punching presses which significantly reduces the transition time for the sheets as the press continues to run.

This object is achieved by the features of claim 1. Particular embodiments of the invention are specified in claims 2 and 3.

In the method according to the invention, the panel is not grasped on the rear edge but on opposite sides. This eliminates the need to feed the first gripping means behind the edge of the board and the further opposite path to the edge of the board. The transfer position of the board is no longer with the front edge immediately in front of the tool, but in the area of the tool. This means, however, that the feed carriage only brings the board into the transfer position when the gripping means have reached their pick-up position along both axes. The handover of the board in the handover position to the first Gripping means takes place during the first die cut, during which the sheet is fixed by the die.

After the processing of the previous sheet has ended, both axes of the feed, ie the first gripping means and the feed slide, move into the starting or receiving position in which the new sheet is picked up. According to the system, the path to be covered by the gripping means is considerably shorter than the path of the feed carriage along the longitudinal axis. As soon as the first gripping means in the transverse axis have reached their sheet transfer position or are outside the feed path of the new sheet, the new sheet can be pushed into the punching tool by the feed carriage, and this simultaneously with the retraction of the first gripping means along the longitudinal axis. If the first gripping means are outside the edges of the board during the retraction, it is necessary that they are returned along the second axis in the direction of the board as soon as they have reached their pick-up position along the first axis. This can be the case, for example, with scrolled sheets that have no straight longitudinal edges. In the case of panels with straight longitudinal edges, however, it is advantageous if according to one embodiment of the invention the feed carriage moves the sheet through the open gripping means and along the first axis to the transfer position. The panel is therefore pushed forward through the open collets, while at the same time they are moved back into the receiving position.

The measures described reduce the unproductive time to about a third compared to the systems described above, ie at 200 strokes per minute, only two empty strokes are required. This increases the overall performance of a punch press, depending on the sheet size, by 12 to 17%. With regard to the design, the effort required is no higher than with conventional systems. Only the feed carriage has to be controlled more precisely in coordination with the adjustment movements of the feed system and the cycle of the press. The feed is usually controlled numerically. The software for the numerical control must therefore be supplemented with the control of the feed carriage. No further effort is required.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to drawings.

Fig. 2
shows a representation similar to Fig. 1 with a panel at the end of processing.

In Figures 1 to 3, 10 is a punch press of conventional design. It has three punching tools 12 which are moved perpendicular to the plane of the drawing by means of a plunger. A feed carriage 16 is adjustable along a guide 18 in the direction of the double arrow 20. It has holders 22, 24 for collets 26, 28 as the first gripping means. Carriage 16, holder 22, 24 and pliers 26, 28 are actuated by suitable adjustment drives, which in turn are controlled by a suitable control device.

A feed carriage 30 with two collets 32, 34 as the second gripping means is adjustable along a carriage guide 36 in the direction of the double arrow 38. The drive for the carriage 30 is also not shown.

The collets 22, 24 and 32, 34 can be of conventional construction, for example have a rigid jaw and a movable jaw, the movable jaw being actuated by a suitable drive.

Fig. 2 shows a panel 40 to be processed in a position in which the last cut is made. Once the dies 12 are engaged with the panel 40, the collets 26, 28 can open and the feed slide can return the collets 26, 28 to a transfer position as shown in FIG. 1. During this time, the collets 32, 34 have already gripped a new panel. If the collets 26, 28 have reached their position along the transverse axis 21, the receiving position on this axis is maintained. This is because the pliers 26, 28 grip the panels at the rear end on the side edges on opposite sides. Thus, while the feed carriage 30 moves the new board 40a along the longitudinal axis 20 in the direction of the punch press 10, the tongs 26, 28 move due to the return movement of the carriage 16 to the rear, the panel 40a being advanced through the opened pliers, ie within the jaws of the pliers. 1 the sheet 40a is fed into the press 10, the transfer position corresponding to the position in which the punching tools 12 make the first cut. Since the punch press 10 continues to run during the operations described, it must be ensured that the feed carriage 30 only pushes the table 40a into the press 10 when the collets 26, 28 have reached the receiving position shown in FIG. 1. At the moment when the punching tools 12 cut the plate 40a and thus fix it at the same time, the collets 32, 34 are opened and the collets 26, 28 are closed, so that the transfer from the feed carriage 30 to the feed carriage therefore takes place.

Since the collets 26, 28 only have to be adjusted in one direction, namely along the axis 20, the described transfer of sheets from the loading carriage 30 to the feed carriage results in a minimal time which corresponds, for example, to only two empty strokes of the press 10. This changeover time is far less than with conventional feed systems.
