Description

The invention relates to an umbrella, in particular a large umbrella, garden umbrella, parasol and the like. with an umbrella stick, a telescopically displaceable stick part in the umbrella stick, to which the roof poles are articulated by means of a crown, and with support struts between a runner which can be displaced along the umbrella pole and the roof poles, and with a roof covering. The displaceable stick part is connected to a threaded spindle mounted in the umbrella stick and the rotor is connected to the stick part by means of a flexible tension member guided over a deflection roller.

Such a screen is described for example in US-A-4 424 824. With such a design of the umbrella, it is possible to be able to move the stick part, which is slidably mounted in the umbrella stick and which carries the roof poles, with the application of a small force, and thereby to raise the runner and bring the roof poles into the open position by means of the support struts and support in this. The movements of the stick part and the rotor are opposite. To open the umbrella, the pole section is lowered by means of the threaded spindle, while the runner is raised by the flexible tension member. To close the umbrella, the part of the telescopic pole is raised while the runner slides down in the umbrella pole. The runner is moved downwards by its own weight and by the proportionate weight of the support struts and roof bars. The manual override is preferably used for umbrellas with a span of 4 to 8 m in diameter. It is essential here that an umbrella is obtained, the umbrella roof of which can be stretched extremely taut when the umbrella is open.

From US-A-38 70 062 a screen with a pagoda-like roof skin is known, which is provided with a crown. This is rigidly connected to the sliding part of the pole, the roof poles being telescopic.

The object of the invention is to further develop an umbrella of the type mentioned in such a way that an umbrella is obtained whose umbrella roof runs more or less concave from the umbrella tip to the roof rod ends, so that a kind of pagoda shape results. It is important that the canopy is under tension from the tip of the canopy to the ends of the canopy.

The invention is characterized in that a further movable along the pole part crown is provided as a crown on which the roof covering attached to the roof pole ends is attached, that the crown has pressure bars, the lower ends of which are guided by a common guide part along the pole part and that an annular support is provided on the umbrella stick as a support for the guide part.

Such a design of the umbrella of the type described at the beginning ensures that an umbrella can be obtained with simple means which, in the case of a pagoda type, has a wrinkle-free umbrella roof which is under considerable tension, the pagoda umbrella being mechanically and aerodynamically extremely stable. The screen gains inherent rigidity and inherent stability without additional prestressing forces must bring. With the normal tension of the canopy, a completely equal tension of the canopy cover is achieved. The means for this are structurally simple. You only need a few additional parts. The opening and closing of the umbrella can be carried out easily, as with a normal umbrella of this type.

According to the further features of the invention, crowns, pressure rods and guide part form a rigid, stable composite part. The pressure rods can be drilled through the like. be passed through the roof pole crown so that physical disability cannot occur when opening and closing the screen.

The ring-shaped support is expediently arranged at the upper end of the umbrella pole. This can receive receiving elements for the pressure rod ends, the receiving elements being adjustable in height. The pressure rods expediently have stops for limiting the displacement of the crown. Such stops preferably consist of thickening of the bars.

To support the pagoda shape, it can be provided that the radial segments of the textile roof covering are cut more or less concavely on the long sides of the triangular structure.

In the figure 1 on which the invention is based, a canopy 2 is provided in which there is a cane part 3 which can be displaced telescopically in the cane 1, at the upper end of which a crown 4 is attached, to which the roof rods 5 are articulated. Along the umbrella pole 2, a runner 6 is slidably arranged, on which support struts 7 are articulated, which with their other end 8 engage the roof rods 5 in an articulated manner.

To operate the umbrella frame, a threaded spindle 10 is provided which is immovably mounted on an angular gear 11 at the lower end. The threaded spindle 10 is advantageously designed as a trapezoidal threaded rod. The angular gear 11 is fixedly mounted in the umbrella stick 1 on a holder 12 which is attached to the umbrella stick. The angular gear can consist, for example, of a worm and a worm wheel, which is connected to the threaded spindle 10 in a rotationally fixed manner. A threaded nut 13 is arranged on the threaded spindle 10 and is fastened to the stick part 3. The threaded spindle can be rotated by means of a hand crank 14. The stick part 3 and the runner 6 protrude a flexible tension member 15 in connection with each other, which runs over a deflection roller 16. The flexible tension member advantageously contains a wire rope; a chain or the like can also be used. One end of the tension member 15 is fixedly attached to the stick part 3 by means of a fastening member 17, for example a screw or the like, while the other end of the tension member 15 is firmly connected to the rotor 6 at 18.

To open the screen, the spindle 10 is rotated by means of the hand crank 14 via the angular gear 11. As a result, the threaded nut 13 slides downward and pulls the displaceable stick part 3 in the direction of the umbrella stick 1 downward. At the same time, the runner 6 is raised by means of the tension member 15 on the umbrella pole 1, whereby the spreading of the roof poles 5 is supported by means of the support struts 7. The roof pole crown 4 is lowered.

Die Druckstäbe 22 durchsetzen Bohrungen 27 der Dachstangenkrone 4.In the umbrella 1, a further crown, ie an upper crown 20, is provided, to which only the roof covering 21 is attached or suspended, while the lower edge of the roof covering 21 is connected to the ends of the roof rods 5. On the top crown 20 there are pressure rods 24, for example four in number, which are firmly connected to the top crown and a structural unit with the top crown and with the roof covering attached to it can be moved vertically. The lower ends of the pressure bars 22 lead to a plate piece 23 firmly connected to them. The top crown 20, pressure bars 22 and the plate piece 23 as a stabilizing plate form an inherently stable composite part which as a whole can be displaced vertically. The plate piece 23 is equipped with a kind of feet 24. At the upper end of the umbrella pole 2, an annular support 25 is arranged. The support 25 has receiving elements 26 for the pressure rod ends, the receiving elements 26 being adjustable in height. The receiving elements 26 are advantageously inlet-centering, elastically damping, upwardly open receiving bearings. The lower ends of the pressure rods move into these and sit softly when the screen is opened. On the one hand, the lower ends of the pressure rods are designed such that they are centered and positively guided when they are inserted into and placed on the receiving bearings 26, and on the other hand the height can be adjusted in a fine adjustment area. The height adjustment of the ends serves to optimize the body shape of the open umbrella. The compression rods 22 pass through bores 27 of the roof rod crown 4.

The pressure rods 22 are provided at an appropriate height with stop elements 28 which limit the displaceability of the roof rod crown 4. The stops 28 advantageously consist of thickening of the rods themselves at the point in question.

By means of the crank / gear mechanism 14 in the interior of the outer, non-movable umbrella pole, the threaded spindle 10 flanged on the gear 11 pulls the inner pole part 3 downward into the outer shield pole 2. As a result, both crowns initially move together, i.e. down the same distance.

Since the runner 6 is connected to the lower end of the inner movable stick part 3 by a rope 15, which is guided and guided via the rope pulley 16 which is fixedly attached to the upper end of the outer, non-movable umbrella stick 2, the lowering of the inner stick part together with crowns is effected at the same time the runner 6 starts up. The crown and the runner move in opposite directions.

The spread of the support struts 7 and the upward movement of the rotor 6 on the one hand and the simultaneous spread of the Roof bars 5 due to the downward movement of the roof bar crown on the other hand is the result. As soon as the lower ends of the pressure rods 22 are stopped in their downward movement by the placement on the support plate 23 in the course of the common downward movement of the two crowns 4 and 20, the upper crown 20 stops, i.e. does not lower further, whereas the roof rod crown 4 is lowered continues to move, ie while the inevitable approach of the roof pole crown 4 and the rotor 6 continues.

With this - in relation to the two crowns - the only further lowering of the roof pole crown 4 and the simultaneous lifting and spreading of the outer ends of the roof poles 5 - both in relation to the over-crown which remains stationary in space - the length of the roof covering 21, which is initially visibly too great, becomes between the outer ends of the roof poles on the one hand and the corresponding radially arranged fastening points on the top crown 20 on the other hand continuously reduced. As soon as the radial arc length of the roof covering 21 corresponds to the associated secant line (straight line between the roof pole end and the counterpoint of the upper crown) during the further opening process, the canopy body shape of the pagoda is reached according to the recognizable shape principle, but the screen is not yet tensioned, but only pre-tensioned. This also results from the fact that residual crank paths are still visible (certain distance between the upper edge of the rotor and the mechanical stop 25 fixedly attached to the outer umbrella stick), or that there is no noticeable hand crank resistance. Despite the clear body shape, the roof surface still has a large number of smaller folds. The roof edge arches from one to the next roof pole end of the roof covering, as well as the textile ruffles or side panels attached to the roof pole arches, for example, have not yet been stretched.

Schirmkörpers (Pagode).During the rest of the crank, i.e. Opening process, you can feel the progressively increasing hand crank resistance. The still changing geometry of the roof construction against the stationary cone 20 which remains stationary in the room results in a complete, wrinkle-free stretching of the roof covering, the full extension of the roof edge arches and, for example, attached textile side panels with a noticeably high mechanical material tension (peripheral preload), a clearly visible (by the way also audible: clear reverb effect when speaking under the umbrella) high material tension along the radial line of curvature to the crown (radial preload) and a clearly visible, idealized or optimized shape of the entire roof or umbrella body (pagoda).

When the umbrella is closed, the roof body relaxes with every turn of the hand crank. There is an excess length in the fabric reference lines or lines between the roof rod ends and their opposite attachment points on the top crown. Crown 20 together with pressure rods 22 and stabilizing plate 23 initially do not move upwards; Only when the roof rod crown with the passage bores in it abuts the lower edge of the upper thickenings 28 of the pressure bars 22 does the top crown also rise. This means that the roof rod crown 4 takes the top crown 2 upwards. Both parts move upwards together at a constant height distance. At the driver point concerned, the above-mentioned excess length in the fabric of the roof covering systematically eats up again. It disappears as soon as the umbrella is closed. The relevant excess lengths only occur temporarily during the opening and closing process.

The radial textile segments of the open pagoda-shaped screen or the roof covering of the Umbrellas are not triangular in their plan execution and put together; rather, all three sides of an imaginary isosceles triangle are concave in relation to the area of the triangle. The concave-cut leg side of a roughly triangular radial segment therefore lies opposite the mirror-image concave-cut leg side of the next, also roughly triangular radial roof segment. The compulsory mechanical connection of such diametrically concave contoured or cut leg sides to one another, and furthermore the connection of all the radial segments cut in this way to form a closed roof covering, results in the complex interaction with the roof construction on the one hand and the targeted induction of mechanical clamping forces in the system radial and peripheral direction on the other hand the geometrically ideal Shape of the pagoda on the fully opened and stretched umbrella body.
