Definitions
- the invention relates to a pre-glued, flat-lying folding box, consisting of a fuselage part with closing flaps adjoining its open sides and a film tube section drawn therein according to the preamble of claim 1.
- folding boxes are generally known.
- folding boxes are used for packaging pourable products, especially liquids. To save space, they are delivered to the bottler of the bulk goods in a flat position. At the bottler, the folding boxes are set up in a filling and packaging machine, first sealed and closed at one end, filled with the product and then sealed and closed at the other end.
- the invention has for its object to provide a folding box of the type mentioned, which is easier to erect, fill and seal.
- the invention is also based on the object of specifying a method for producing a folding box of the aforementioned type. This object is achieved by the invention specified in claim 6. Advantageous developments of the method are the subject of the dependent claims.
- the invention provides that the hose section into the folding box has continuous, embossed crease lines extending to the edge of the hose section at all those points that lie in the corners of the fuselage cross section, Give the folding box a largely rectangular cross-section when the box is not yet closed.
- the fold lines that lie in the pre-glued, flat-lying folding box in the folding lines that connect the stretched walls of the folding box body to one another have the effect that the aforementioned lip effect is largely avoided.
- a certain amount of air is formed between the walls of the tube section lying one on top of the other when the folding box is not erected, especially in the area between the flaps, which prevents the edges of the tube section from lying completely close together, even sticking to one another and due to the fact that when the folding box is erected inside the resulting negative pressure completely seal off the interior of the hose section from the outside.
- the tube section in the area between the closure flaps, with which it is not connected offers an improved rectangular shape of the opening cross section, which not only facilitates the filling but also the subsequent sealing of the tube section, for example by welding.
- the invention is particularly suitable for use in combination with tube materials which have a certain bounce, as is the case with many plastic films, for example.
- composite films made of paper and plastic made of paper, aluminum and polyethylene, made of aluminum and plastic or of different types of plastic come into consideration as tube materials.
- So-called monofilms which are particularly desirable for disposal reasons, can also be used, as can polyester foils.
- Such foils are sealed using heat, ultrasound or high frequency, depending on the type of material selected.
- Cardboard, cardboard, corrugated cardboard and other other folding box materials can be used as the material for the folding box.
- a film web made of a sealable material is fed from a roll in the usual way.
- This film web is not only formed, as is generally known in the prior art, by folding and sealing, in particular welding, of the two edges to form a tube, but it is made into this film web in a total of four longitudinal lines that extend across the width of the film web are distributed, kinks introduced, in particular embossed, which have the effect with the appropriate choice of material of the film that the film is no longer completely flat after folding and welding.
- At least in partial areas of the cross section there are air cushions within the hose or the hose section separated from the hose, which are open to the outside and thus allow air to flow in during erection.
- Such a tube section is placed on a prepared, flat, open cardboard blank in a flattened state so that two of the areas of the film tube section delimited from one another by a crease line come to lie on the matching two fields of the body part of the folding box blank.
- the hose section is glued to the two fields of the body part of the folding box blank.
- the part of the folding box blank that is not covered by the tube section is then folded over onto the film tube section and glued to it in the region of the other two torso fields of the folding box blank.
- the folding box blank is glued to itself by means of an adhesive flap which is formed on the folding box blank, so that a pre-glued, flat-lying folding box is formed which, when erected, can be shaped into a cuboid tubular body of rectangular cross-section.
- the longitudinal weld seam which is produced from the film when the tube is created, runs in a region of the tube section lying in the folding box, where it does not hinder the subsequent sealing of the tube section to form a closed bag.
- This weld seam preferably runs in one of the two main surfaces of the folding box.
- the kink lines can be formed in the film web with the aid of conventional folding sheets, over which the film web is drawn, or also with the aid of embossing rollers, which are provided with circumferential grooves, and matching embossing rollers which are inserted into the Protrude circumferential grooves and form a narrow gap with them, between which the material of the film web is carried out. Combinations of both types of processes are also possible. Possibly. the effect of heat can favor the formation and in particular the durability of the kink lines.
- FIG. 1 a folding box of conventional shape with a body consisting of main surfaces 1 and side surfaces 2, on which top and bottom flaps 3 and 4 are attached.
- a film tube section 5 which is produced from a film web and has a welded longitudinal seam 6 which runs in one of the main surfaces of the folding box.
- This tube section 5 consists of a sealable material, in particular a heat-sealable material, such as, for example, thermoplastic or coated metal foil or the like, as described at the beginning.
- the folding box is already closed on the floor, where the hose section 5 is also sealed and folded.
- the lower sealing seam which forms the bottom of the inner bag produced from the tube section 5, is designated by 7 in FIG. 1.
- the length of the tube section is greater than the length of the trunk of the folding box, so that it extends extends between the flaps 3 and 4, which are shown folded away laterally in FIG. 1, in order to make the upper end of the inner bag formed by the tube section 5 accessible for sealing (after filling).
- the hose section 5 not only has an acute angle where two adjoining areas of the fuselage form an acute angle in the flat state of the pre-glued folding box (these areas are each labeled with the same suffixes a and b) on, but they also have embossed crease lines 9 where, in the pre-glued, flat-lying folding box, two adjoining main surfaces of the fuselage meet at an acute or elongated angle.
- These fields are labeled with unequal suffixes a and b in FIG. 2.
- FIG. 2 is not to scale so that the fold lines 9 can be shown better.
- the bonds between the hose section 5 and the inner surfaces of the fuselage are only indicated by a few broad adhesive points 10.
- the bonds can be over the entire surface, so that the crease lines 9 are not particularly pronounced in the fuselage.
- the kink lines 9 emerge in the area of the hose section 5 which lies between the closure flaps 3 and 4, which are not glued to the hose section.
- the folding box shown in Fig. 1 is filled, after filling, if not already done, the flaps 3 and 4 are folded away from the inner bag formed by the tube section 5 so that the closing and sealing tools can be brought up to the inner bag, the inner bag is then sealed and folded into the folding box, whereupon the flaps 4 and 3 are folded over and glued together, so that the folding box is closed.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a pre-glued, flat-lying folding box, consisting of a fuselage part with closing flaps adjoining its open sides and a film tube section drawn therein according to the preamble of
These folding boxes are used for packaging pourable products, especially liquids. To save space, they are delivered to the bottler of the bulk goods in a flat position. At the bottler, the folding boxes are set up in a filling and packaging machine, first sealed and closed at one end, filled with the product and then sealed and closed at the other end.
It has been found that erecting the folding boxes in the packaging machine poses certain difficulties. These result from the fact that the tube section lies very flat in the flat-lying folding box, so that its walls lie against one another and a so-called lip effect develops on its edges when straightening up, because no air can penetrate into the interior of the tube section due to the close abutment of the tube walls. On the contrary, the negative pressure created by erecting the folding box inside the tube section even intensifies this lip effect. After straightening up, it becomes apparent that there are only two mutually opposite corners of the open cross section of the tube section in a more pronounced form, namely those at which the tube section was kinked in the flat-lying folding box. This inadequate formation of the desired rectangular shape of the cross-sectional opening of the hose section prepares both during filling Difficulties with the erected folding box as well as when sealing the tube section.
The invention has for its object to provide a folding box of the type mentioned, which is easier to erect, fill and seal.
This object is solved by the features of
The invention is also based on the object of specifying a method for producing a folding box of the aforementioned type. This object is achieved by the invention specified in
In contrast to the prior art, the invention provides that the hose section into the folding box has continuous, embossed crease lines extending to the edge of the hose section at all those points that lie in the corners of the fuselage cross section, Give the folding box a largely rectangular cross-section when the box is not yet closed.
Combined with a certain bounce of the film tube material, the fold lines that lie in the pre-glued, flat-lying folding box in the folding lines that connect the stretched walls of the folding box body to one another have the effect that the aforementioned lip effect is largely avoided. A certain amount of air is formed between the walls of the tube section lying one on top of the other when the folding box is not erected, especially in the area between the flaps, which prevents the edges of the tube section from lying completely close together, even sticking to one another and due to the fact that when the folding box is erected inside the resulting negative pressure completely seal off the interior of the hose section from the outside.
In the erected state of the folding box, the tube section in the area between the closure flaps, with which it is not connected, offers an improved rectangular shape of the opening cross section, which not only facilitates the filling but also the subsequent sealing of the tube section, for example by welding.
The invention is particularly suitable for use in combination with tube materials which have a certain bounce, as is the case with many plastic films, for example.
In particular, composite films made of paper and plastic, made of paper, aluminum and polyethylene, made of aluminum and plastic or of different types of plastic come into consideration as tube materials. So-called monofilms, which are particularly desirable for disposal reasons, can also be used, as can polyester foils.
Such foils are sealed using heat, ultrasound or high frequency, depending on the type of material selected.
Cardboard, cardboard, corrugated cardboard and other other folding box materials can be used as the material for the folding box.
In order to produce such a folding box blank, a film web made of a sealable material is fed from a roll in the usual way. This film web is not only formed, as is generally known in the prior art, by folding and sealing, in particular welding, of the two edges to form a tube, but it is made into this film web in a total of four longitudinal lines that extend across the width of the film web are distributed, kinks introduced, in particular embossed, which have the effect with the appropriate choice of material of the film that the film is no longer completely flat after folding and welding. At least in partial areas of the cross section there are air cushions within the hose or the hose section separated from the hose, which are open to the outside and thus allow air to flow in during erection.
Such a tube section is placed on a prepared, flat, open cardboard blank in a flattened state so that two of the areas of the film tube section delimited from one another by a crease line come to lie on the matching two fields of the body part of the folding box blank. The hose section is glued to the two fields of the body part of the folding box blank. The part of the folding box blank that is not covered by the tube section is then folded over onto the film tube section and glued to it in the region of the other two torso fields of the folding box blank. In addition, the folding box blank is glued to itself by means of an adhesive flap which is formed on the folding box blank, so that a pre-glued, flat-lying folding box is formed which, when erected, can be shaped into a cuboid tubular body of rectangular cross-section. It goes without saying that the longitudinal weld seam, which is produced from the film when the tube is created, runs in a region of the tube section lying in the folding box, where it does not hinder the subsequent sealing of the tube section to form a closed bag. This weld seam preferably runs in one of the two main surfaces of the folding box.
The kink lines can be formed in the film web with the aid of conventional folding sheets, over which the film web is drawn, or also with the aid of embossing rollers, which are provided with circumferential grooves, and matching embossing rollers which are inserted into the Protrude circumferential grooves and form a narrow gap with them, between which the material of the film web is carried out. Combinations of both types of processes are also possible. Possibly. the effect of heat can favor the formation and in particular the durability of the kink lines.

As shown schematically in cross-section in FIG. 2, the
It should be noted at this point that FIG. 2 is not to scale so that the
