Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a foil pocket book with a plurality of flat foil pockets which are rectangular in outline, delimited by two foil layers each connected to one another by at least two, preferably three edges on a folding or welding line and having an insertion opening for documents or the like on at least one edge Made of thermoplastic material, which are connected in one piece in pairs on a common center line and are welded flat against one another on a weld line running along the common center lines and optionally welded to a cover.
In the production of known film pocket books (clearbooks), hose parts with a predetermined height are usually welded from an endless film tube with closure of one longitudinal edge, brought together in layers and welded together in the region of their center line to one another and to the cover, which is also made of thermoplastic material. The resulting weld seam is, for example, broken through like a lattice. This is intended to ensure that the melting plastic material melts together in the area of the weld seam and at the same time forms a bond with the cover. The perforation pattern obtained in this way stiffens the spine of the book and facilitates the hinge-like opening and closing of the film pockets. However, it has been shown that precisely in the area of the weld line due to the perforation, there is an increased risk of tearing when the film pockets are pivoted, particularly when handled improperly. In order to counter this danger, a relatively wide and therefore resistant weld seam has been provided so far. However, since the film pockets usually tear at the side edge of the weld seam and the wide weld seam forms a rigid tear-off edge due to the additional hardening, this measure has had a rather negative effect with regard to the risk of tearing.
The invention has for its object to develop a film pocket book, in which the risk of tearing the film pockets in the area of the weld seam is significantly reduced regardless of their width and design.
To achieve this object, it is proposed according to the invention that both film layers of the film pockets in the vicinity of at least one of the weld seam ends arranged laterally next to the weld seam, to the pocket edge perpendicular to the weld seam, have cutouts or cut-outs.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the open-edge cutouts or punched-out areas are arranged congruently with one another both in the two film layers of each film pocket and in the film pockets of the entire book lying against one another.
A further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the cutouts of two integrally connected foil pockets are arranged in mirror image with respect to one another with respect to their center line or are formed continuously while cutting the center line. In the latter case, it is advantageous if the end of the weld line on the side of the cutouts is offset inwards in relation to the relevant pocket edge in the longitudinal direction of the center line.
Since the film pockets are subjected to tensile stress above all in the region of the insertion opening, the cutouts are advantageously arranged on the side of the insertion opening of the film pockets.
It has proven to be particularly advantageous if the cutouts are delimited by flanks which diverge towards the edge opening, the cutout flank adjacent to the weld seam being either parallel or at an acute angle of less than 20 ° to the weld seam.
In principle, it is possible, if the cutouts are present at the same time, to widen the width of the weld line toward its cutout-side end in order to obtain an additional corner reinforcement.
It is better, however, if the width of the weld line is tapered to a point at its cut-out end. In this case, the linearly acting tensile forces, which under certain conditions even make it possible to dispense with the open-edge recesses and the resulting strain relief. In both alternative solutions, the weld seam can either be perforated like a grid or consist of at least two individual seams spaced apart from one another until their ends are parallel to one another. In principle, it is possible to design the weld line as a plurality of cross-seams which are spaced apart from one another in a grid-like manner and separated from one another by transverse openings.

The foil pocket books (clearbooks) shown in the drawing essentially consist of a
In the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 1 to 3, the weld seam is of equal width over its entire length, while in the case of FIG. 4 it is widened towards the end in a delta shape and in the case of FIGS. 5 to 7 it is tapered to a point.
In the exemplary embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 and 6, in the area of the
In summary, the following can be stated: The invention relates to a film pocket book, referred to in practice as a "clear book", which has a plurality of flat, contoured rectangular, insert pockets for documents, which have
