Definitions
- the invention relates to a guide bushing according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the invention has for its object to provide a guide bush of the generic type that is easy to manufacture and gives the housing of the length adjustment element an exact, firm, lateral guidance.
- the measures according to the invention ensure that the machining, for example broaching, of the part-cylinder surfaces serving as guide surfaces ensures very precise guidance of the housing of the length adjustment element.
- the part-cylinder surfaces can be formed very precisely on the guide webs projecting radially from the inner surface of the guide bushing in a very simple manner, without the chips running off during processing being able to lead to crushing and thus to surface damage.
- the guide webs are very stiff together with the guide bush, so that no unintentional radial movements of the housing of the length adjustment element are possible.
- a guide bushing 1 is arranged in a guide tube 2, only indicated, of a height-adjustable chair column.
- chair columns are known for example from EP-A-0 325 726 (corresponding to US-A-4 899 969), to which express reference is made.
- the guide bushing 1 has a sliding bushing 3, on the outside of which rib webs 5 projecting outward radially to the central longitudinal axis 4 are formed. With these rib webs 5, the guide bush 1 is supported radially against the inner wall 6 of the guide tube 2. An upper annular collar 7 fixes the guide bush 1 in the axial direction with respect to the guide tube 2. In addition, the guide bush 1 is pushed into the guide tube 2 with a press fit.
- a housing 9 of an only indicated gas spring 10 is guided so as to be displaceable in the direction of the axis 4.
- This gas spring 10 together with the guide tube 2 and the guide bush 1 essentially form the mentioned height-adjustable chair column.
- the housing 9 of the gas spring 10 can be its direct housing, or an additional support tube surrounding the gas spring 10, as is also known from EP-A-0 325 726 (corresponding to US-A-4,899,969), whereupon is also expressly referred to.
- the guide sleeve 1 is made of plastic, preferably a polyacetal, and is made in one piece by injection molding.
- Guide webs 11 are formed on the inner surface 8 of the sliding bush 3, which extend over the full axial length of the sliding bush 3 and project radially from the inner surface 8 to the axis 4. They are formed in one piece with the sliding bush 3.
- the guide webs 11 Before a calibration process to be explained by broaching, the guide webs 11 have an oversize to the axis 4. This is reduced by the broaching process, so that 11 partial cylinder surfaces 12 are then formed on the guide webs, which form the actual guide surfaces relative to the housing 9 of the gas spring 10.
- Recesses 13 run between adjacent guide webs 11 as parts of the inner surface 8.
- the radius R12 of the partial cylinder surfaces 12 from the axis 4 and the radial distance R13 of the recesses 13 from the axis 4 with respect to the radius R9 of the housing 9 apply Relationship R13> R12 ⁇ R9, where R12 is at most a few hundredths of a millimeter, for example up to 0.05 mm, larger than R9.
- a broach which has broaching teeth with a circular cutting edge extending over its entire circumference.
- the cleared chips have a width that corresponds at most to the width b of the partial cylinder surfaces 12.
- the chips cleared from adjacent partial cylinder surfaces 12 are interrupted in the area of the recess 13 lying between them. This type of broaching of the partial cylinder surfaces 12 leads to the fact that they are cleared very smoothly with a high surface quality, because the plastic chips produced during broaching can run off well. There is no danger that they will get stuck between the cutting teeth of the broaching tool and the inner surface 8 of the sliding bush 3 and damage the surface of the part-cylinder surfaces 12.
- the sum of the partial cylinder surfaces 12 forms the actual guide surface of the sliding bush 3 with respect to the housing 9 of the gas spring 10.
- the strength is further increased by the fact that the guide webs 11 are each arranged in radial overlap with the rib webs 5, so that from the housing 9 via the guide webs 11 on the slide bush 3, executives extending radially to the axis 4 run directly into each of the Ribs 5 associated with guide webs 11 can be introduced.
- the guide webs 11 run in a straight line and parallel to the axis 4, they can also be tortuous, that is to say run helically with a large pitch.
- the slope is expediently at least so large that two adjacent guide webs overlap one another at least once over the length of the guide webs 11. In this way it is achieved that the housing 9 is supported radially at least over its entire circumference by the partial cylinder surfaces.
- the slope can also be greater, so that multiple overlap of adjacent guide webs is achieved over their length.
- a gas spring 10 as a pneumatic or hydropneumatic length adjustment element
- a purely mechanical length adjustment element for example with a mechanical spring, can also be provided, which has a cylindrical housing or a cylindrical guide part for guidance on the part-cylinder surfaces 12 having.
- the guide bushing 1 in the embodiment described can also be used as a pure rotary guide, ie without the possibility of an axial displacement.

Description
The invention relates to a guide bushing according to the preamble of claim 1.
Derartige, beispielsweise aus der DE-A- 19 31 012 (entspr. US-A- 3 711 054) oder der EP-A- 0 133 524 B (entspr. Columns of this type, formed for example from DE-A-19 31 012 (corresponding to US-A-3 711 054) or EP-A-0 133 524 B (corresponding to US-A-4 979 718), have an outer guide tube made of metal, in the upper, facing away from a base plate, a plastic guide bushing is arranged, which extends only over part of the length of the guide tube.
In the unpublished DE-A-40 24 392 (corresponds to US-A-5 152 646) it has already been proposed to form such guide bushes on their inner surface by broaching in such a way that part-cylinder surfaces distributed over the circumference as guide surfaces and between these recesses are provided, in which grease can be arranged.
The invention has for its object to provide a guide bush of the generic type that is easy to manufacture and gives the housing of the length adjustment element an exact, firm, lateral guidance.
This object is achieved by the features in the characterizing part of claim 1. The measures according to the invention ensure that the machining, for example broaching, of the part-cylinder surfaces serving as guide surfaces ensures very precise guidance of the housing of the length adjustment element. The part-cylinder surfaces can be formed very precisely on the guide webs projecting radially from the inner surface of the guide bushing in a very simple manner, without the chips running off during processing being able to lead to crushing and thus to surface damage. The guide webs are very stiff together with the guide bush, so that no unintentional radial movements of the housing of the length adjustment element are possible.
Numerous advantageous, partially inventive details of the invention emerge from the subclaims.

US-A- 4 899 969) bekannt, worauf ausdrücklich verwiesen wird.A guide bushing 1 is arranged in a
The guide bushing 1 has a sliding
On the
The guide sleeve 1 is made of plastic, preferably a polyacetal, and is made in one piece by injection molding.
In den Rücksprüngen 13 kann Schmierfett 14 untergebracht werden.3 and 4 can be seen, twelve
To broach the
The sum of the
Instead of the broaching described, basically all other suitable machining processes can also be used, for example, butting, which is very similar to pressure broaching.
While in the illustrated and described exemplary embodiment the
It is expressly pointed out that instead of a
